Agree with the comment above. Beginners should always kneel first, if you lose balance you'll probably injure yourself off the pier or dock.

Such a great tip using the leash to pull the board out of the water.

I think this guy is better suited to be a stunt man rather than instructor teaching SUP. His techniques could result in serious injuries for 95% if people.

Beginner question…is there ever a time when you would be out on your board and have your paddle stowed? Or should you have your paddle in hand at all times?

Awesome, only video I have seen that shows how to get on/off a SUP without kneeling! (Can't kneel).

I dont feel this is a safe entry or exit. People should always be on your knees next to a dock and be using a leash. Michael is much more pro then a beginner and probably should be doing a video for beginners, not showing off his skills around a dock. It is very easy for the board to slip out from under you with the slightest jerk and you can hit your head on the dock and die pretty fast. :( that wont happen if your on your knees close to the dock.

Hey Buddy, can you tell me what brand board the second one, the green one is, what it's made of and the specs on it. Like the measurements, width and thickness. Also, which boards balance better on their own, like what are those made of that has the better balance advantage from the door. Thanks man

If I followed this advice at the pace their doing it the waves would've carried the board away already. Should've discussed launching/docking whie laying prone.

This is NOT beginner level launch or land you SUP. He makes it look easy, it's not as easy as a very experienced paddler makes it look. The main thing for launching and landing is balancing the weight onto and off the board at the center carry handle by kneeling first. Too much weight in one area of the board without being evenly balanced side-to-side, the board will move away from you quickly and into the drink you will go. You'll figure the balance of the board with each launch and land and maybe be as good as he is.... one day.
