So this woman self-diagnosed herself with cancer and god thought she was so special and healed her. She probably just had a cyst and it just went away.
I once had a hard knot or mass in my lower abdomen. I was also scared to go to the doctor and have it diagnosed as cancer. I was terrified that's what it was. A few days later it had cleared up. It was likely an infection. I did not pray, since I am an atheist and it still went away on it's own.

My mother said her hip pain went away for a day or so after someone prayed for her. Then it came back. The pain tends to come and go randomly. See the problem with that logic? lol
She should stop using that sort of theatrical language and try to be more reasonable. Christians are completely reasonable and rational any other time you talk to them about almost anything, but as soon as you bring up religion they get vague and mysterious.

You always hear these stories describing how religious people were cured of cancer or some other medical disorder that often times is eradicated either naturally or by using medication. There are few questions that these people need to be asked. First, how does one _differentiate_ between a healing that god is responsible for versus a healing that the immune system/medication is responsible for? If you're a religious believer, is god given credit for every healing that occurs? Cancer, the common cold, strep throat-- you name it? Or do we only count the illnesses that are more life-threatening? Or does it only could when they pray beforehand or have some feeling of bliss or some other sort of subjective experience preceding the healing that they interpret as a religious one? Along those lines then, as Jeff Dee said, if somebody says a prayer and takes an aspirin, which one cured the headache? The next, related question is why is god only able to cure illnesses that people naturally recover from in other contexts? (Illnesses that even nonbelievers recover from!) An impressive display of supernatural intervention would be the curing of a condition that medical science cannot currently handle. The go-to example is an amputated limb; if a religious person who has lost a limb prays to god to be healed, why are they never healed? Why is it that the only things which god allegedly heals are things that god *isn't necessarily required* to heal? The answer, of course, is that god has no hand in these sorts of things. Instead, what we're seeing is selection-bias: people have a health issue, they pray about it, and _if they recover_, they attribute it to god. We are never going to hear religious people telling stories about how they prayed to god asking to be healed, and god didn't do so. This, in their eyes, will never be counted against god's existence. As Sam Harris said, "this is how you play tennis without the net," and these people indeed play dirty. Credit is given when it's not deserved, and when they don't get the outcome they desire, it's attributed to that being a part of god's mysterious plan. Or, alternatively, perhaps they're being punished for previous sins, or maybe they lacked proper faith, or didn't pray correctly. Whatever the ridiculous explanation may be, they will almost invariably come up with some way to justify this, and never consider that perhaps a god doesn't exist or doesn't intervene in matters of our personal health. Simply put, religious people count the hits and forget the misses when it comes to prayer.
I admire Matt for being so respectful, patient and honest in his attempt to take seriously what some of these nutbjobs are trying to communicate and put it into perspective. In no way does he preach, put words into their mouth, make random claims, go off topic or invent new angles or promote hidden agendas. He is showing them so much respect as human beings by listening to them and maintaining faith in their capacity for reason - And most of them will they never know it.
I don't know how the show's hosts do it. I tried to listen to this ignorant woman Diane as she condescendingly lectured Matt & Tracie (sp?) with her beliefs as if she thought perhaps they hadn't heard it all before. I got as far as 3:05 and had to stop playback… I couldn't take it anymore. What EVERY caller into this show is supposed to understand CLEARLY is tell the hosts what you believe and (WAY MORE IMPORTANTLY) WHY you believe what you do. It's a given those who do will give bad or ridiculous reasons for their beliefs, but that's the intended format of the show. Call in with your superstitious beliefs, give your lame reason(s) for holding those beliefs, let the hosts explain why your beliefs are unjustified, and maybe, just maybe someone else watching or listening will have an epiphany and shed their own nonsensical beliefs in favor of reason and a pursuit of truth.
THAT'S called "Moving the goalpost"!! Along with using their "God" to fill in the ever-shrinking GAPS at the perimeter of human understanding, it's one of the Christian's FAVORITE things to do. 🤣
“He exists in those that believe in god!” In other words, God exists in the minds of believers. In other words, God is imaginary! Yeah, I agree with that!
I think it's interesting when people think God does them special favors .. meanwhile there are people literally dying of starvation but sure , YOU are more important lol
"Parents are deceased but you know they come from somewhere..." What technology do we use to check parental and offspring's relationship. DNA testing. Even if they were in th ground, what could you do? Test it. What you can;t do is test that prayer works. What you can't do is prove the book is written by guided hands of angelic beings. What you can't prove is that God exist.
That lady got under my skin, ironically. Males ludicrous claims, shuts people off who criticize them and she decided for herself what others believ,e without giving them a chance to speak and explain why her strawman is false. She lives in a delusional bubble that she desperately tries to keep in tact.
The caller is trying to make a logical argument that God exists but seems incapable of logical thought. It is just an example of how making logical sense out of something illogical simply is not possible.
Why is a God illogical, but a nothing created everything,( we just do not know what nothing is)so intelligently superior? When the Bible says God is life and everything we have observed says life creates life?Sounds like a God is more logical.Anyway have a g1 .Peace
SHOCK: OH, damn, you're back. Don't make things up or believe everything (anything) your preacher tells you about logic or atheists. It's all horsewaugh.
So there's "in the natural" (equals "real world") and then there's "in the spirit" (equals wtf?) - it's beyond the natural, supernatural,...thing we believe because we have faith. You (atheists) are not sure where we came from. And I am sure, so... facepalm
I'm: TFSM not only created everything, he's making dinner for us this very night! And we see some LUMPS in the sauce, but TFSM assures us it's MEATBALLS. Maybe that's what she had, the holy meatballs and the cat ate them overnight? Praise The Flying Spaghetti Monster! Get it right, beeyotch!
You think you know and have no proof we don't want to believe any bull shit without proof I could quite easily say that I was created by superman and I no because this book tolled me if u would call someone mental for genuinely believing that then u have to see y people would think the same about you The invisible man named god made me becoming I believe and a book Well woopty do where is the actual proof
That was going to be exactly my comment. My mother has lupus and has had this problem for decades now, cysts form on her breasts, sometimes they need draining, but most of the times they heal themselves.
In an argument as soon as you use the word faith you've failed big time. Using faith as an argument a person can argue for Zeus and Odin or for other supernatural beings like fairies, leprechauns, zombies and unicorns, oops the last 2 are in the bible so the caller probably has faith in those as well including believing in magic with science being wrong and we are in fact living on a flat earth with edges and corners, supported by pillars and columns with talking animals lol. I wonder if she has faith in Buddha, Allah and shares the faith Scientologists have in Xenu the Galactic Warlord or Mormons faith in the planet Kolob and that the Garden of Eden is in Missouri lol.
There's been almost 1000 (a bloody thousand!) of these shows over the years, and still it's like bicycling up the Niagara falls! I wonder how many of these callers actually convert to atheism or even start to critically review their own ingrained beliefs. But I suppose it can't be much help that creationism is being taught in schools, for example How do you get rid of arrogance? By fighting it? By ignoring it? I don't know, but kudos to Matt and the team for never giving up on their "mission"
@EGMAG Every question does not have a valid answer. For instance, what does blue smell like? Regarding the north pole, what do you mean "dependent upon time spacial distance & objectivity". North is defined as the direction towards the north pole. Since the earth is sperical, north of the north pole is nonsensical and does not exist.
In most cases when you feel a lump in your breast, it's _not_ a tumour. Thousands and thousands of women all over the world feel lumps in their breasts every day, get worried, goes to the doctor, and get the result that it isn't a tumour. But you should always get it checked.
I read your post and thought "that guy has a good point," so I went to try to bike up Niagara Falls. After some time in the hospital, and then in jail, I'm finally back home, about three weeks later. I came back to this video so I could tell you off, but I realize now that I misread your post. I've only been an Atheist for a few years. You'd think, after being raised as a Christian, I would've gotten used to reading something and knowing it's not meant to be taken literally.
@Tatchko I don't wanna argue with y'all (in the meantime she called in to the show, with BS that she is stating as iron-clad evidence, and then she gets offended when they don't take her flimsy story at face value).
This caller is very unsure of what she believes. She keeps saying one thing, then when pressed about it, goes a totally different route with it. It's almost like she had never given a single thought as to what she believes, she simply believed it but once she realized the actual concept of what she was saying she realized it wasn't even reasonable. The breast lump was the only thing she actually held firm to.
Arrogance is much harder to overcome than ignorance. There are too many people in our society who put more importance in not being proven wrong rather than actually being right... if that makes sense.
" my point exactly"- the gap must be filled with something- why so many refuse to look for answers, opting to accept whatever is thrown at them, is beyond me- it is arrogant and ignorant.
I completely agree with you about the fact you can't control what or who you are attracted to. Some people are physically attracted to cars or sexually attracted to bridges. Some idiosyncrasies are psychological and can become pathological. The bottom line is, the choices we make will lead us into the lifestyles we take. It's seemingly rational that heterosexuality is only logical because it potentially propagates your genes, in a natural way that is fully human and completely natural.
what schools are creationism being taught in? my understanding is that creationists are trying to get their views into school, but so far unsuccessfully. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if i'm wrong, I definitely would like to be informed.
@Leivinn20 the proper expression is "your grade", not degree. Your grade for research methodology and for charitable interpretation of an opponent is "n/a". Some things are too low to even be submitted.
@EGMAG Regarding what the big bang is expanding into, we are dealing with a non-question in the same way as when asking what happened before the big bang. If space and time is created at the big bang, there is no before or outside. Stephen Hawking compared it to asking what's north of the north pole. Just because you can formulate a question doesn't mean it has a valid answer.
Yes, and that's perhaps all that show like this can hope for. I mean, most of the people who do leave their religion probably never call back, so there might be a lot of people who HAVE renounced their faith without us knowing about it.
Part of the modern humanist ethic is the core belief that humanity, not some imagined deity, is ultimately responsible for our common fate and future. We are our own saviors and redeemers. It is up to us, just us alone, both to develop the ethical principles guiding our conduct, and, through common sense, reason or acceptance by the majority, to validate them.
Thats what Im thinking, Im going to school for radiation therapy and Im almost certain she had a cyst that simply burst from her touching it. The fluid inside was harmless much like a blister. Aside from the fact tumors dont ever just go away over night, this lady is not even qualified to diagnose that it was indeed a tumor.
"They should realize that attacking someone doesn’t encourage a relationship. In fact, it's common sense that when you attack someone, mock his character, dare him to do what you want, and insult his person he will withdraw from you." i don't attack it because i don't think it is real. it is not an insult to ask that YOU to explain why i should think your imaginary friend exists. i wouldn't be insulted if people who never met me didn't blindly accept my existence.
I'm not sure if I posed this as a question, so I will now. What do you think of Perry as Cross? Or are you not a fan? It's cool if not. Most people don't care for Patterson's style.
@EGMAG Like I said. What is the smell of blue? The taste of green? The fact that you can formulate a question does not mean that there is a valid answer.
"I believe in God based on the Universe having a beginning & the existence of moral absolutes and logical absolutes." It doesn’t matter how convinced you are; belief doesn't equal knowledge. The difference is that knowledge can always be tested for accuracy where mere beliefs often cannot be. Knowledge is demonstrable, measurable. But faith is often a matter of pretending to know what you know you really don't know, & that no one even can know & which you merely believe for no reason at all.
1, 3 and 4. I'm pointing out that L.A. don't need to be 'accounted' for. They simply exist, and are independent of any God. 2. The rock has always existed - that universe isn't like ours. 4. If no-one knew or could demonstrate anything, that wouldn't 'validate the premise' that God exists - he doesn't exist by default, you need positive evidence of his existence. 5. So you agree that the existence of L.A says nothing about the existence of God?
1. I got the wrong size steel toe boots for a new job 2. Worked a 10 hr shift with the new boots rubbing 3. I was in pain and after my shift was over 2 of my toes were numb. 4. I took the shoes back, got a size bigger and prayed to god 5.No more shoe problem or pain or numb toes. 6. Yup ! musta been the g.o.d. oh that Jesus ! it was a miracle !
If the god of the bible had been portrayed as a king instead of a God , he would be remembered as the most evil, mass murdering, tyrannical dictator of all time! Christians give the bible god a free pass because, they say, he is god the creator. I don't see the difference whether man or god. If his actions were evil or immoral, as the bible states, then he'd be just as guilty of being evil as any human committing the same deeds.
Have you ever noticed that persons like SuperTruth all use the same three basic arguments. 1.Make a belief based claim and then insist that others dis-prove it. 2.Claim that the person they disagree with has a character flaw therefore their argument must also be flawed. 3.Claim that not believing a claim is equal to believe the opposite of that claim. None of these are useful practices and should always be dismissed.
Do these people deny that their lives started as tiny tiny cells clumped together that in only 9 months become a baby? So why is it so hard to believe cells can come together outside the womb???
@thelordmemnoch It wasn't meant to make you teary eyed, it was meant to make you think, and wonder why these people still believe in God when there is absolutely nothing to benefit from it. The only part I don't take literal is that the earth was created 6000 years ago. It proves that one book in the Old Testament was inaccurate. For a book written Before the Common Era there is bound to be inaccuracies from the interpretation, and from the translation from Greek to Latin to English.
I am a secular humanist, that's my lifestance which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality.
I base my morals on Consequentialism which says that we have only one basic duty: to do whatever has the best consequences. We ought to do whatever maximizes good consequences. It doesn't in itself matter what kind of thing we do. What matters is that we maximize good results. Most of the stories in the Bible did not happen, but people base their life and ethical standards on such stories, beliefs like these that instigate violence and suffering should upset any ethical person.
OK then, if god exists in those who believe, then as soon as no one believes in god, god will no longer exist. Makes sense because god only exists in your head.

Mammary Edema, maybe?
Ingrown hair?
People are NUTS
I was thinking cyst, but without a diagnosis we will never know. :(
Justin Brewer Ma'm, may I touch it, just to be sure?
greenjelly: CAN'T TOUCH DAT!
Breast cysts can arise overnight and disappear just as quickly. They can be hard, hot & painful, but can resolve in a few days without treatment.
The bible is so far fetched it's beyond absurd how anyone can be that gullible to believe it.
No amount of belief makes something a fact.
Black theists have this strange locution "in the natural." It must be a phrase used in black churches.
Locutus D'Borg ...they are all recently empowered by learning what melanin is...
“He exists in those that believe in god!” In other words, God exists in the minds of believers. In other words, God is imaginary! Yeah, I agree with that!
Still waiting on Tracy to marry me......
This woman doesn't even understand what diagnosis mean. The hubris that can come from ignorance is amazing.
I think it's interesting when people think God does them special favors .. meanwhile there are people literally dying of starvation but sure , YOU are more important lol
God exists in those who believe that he is god, so, god is imaginary then. That's what we've been telling you. Now, can we get on with reality.
"Parents are deceased but you know they come from somewhere..."
What technology do we use to check parental and offspring's relationship.
+✞SHOCKnAWE✞ The whole bible is illogical, and no one says "a nothing created everything", nice try though lol
Could you define the god you believe in?
SHOCK: OH, damn, you're back. Don't make things up or believe everything (anything) your preacher tells you about logic or atheists. It's all horsewaugh.
The linguistic and intellectual gymnastics involved in trying too justify religion is bone crushingly ignorant
***** It was classy of him just to let that ignorant woman talk for as long as she did despite the fact that it was bullshit.
God healed ma breast cancer ! But 15,000 children starve to death today in Africa. PRAISE JEEESUS !!
Eddy: 100% correct except you could write it "breast cancer" meaning you don't really believe that it was.
more than likely it was just a calcium deposit
Or that M&M that fell out of her hand,on it's way to her mouth, but didn't hit the floor?
This video really needs a clip of Arnie going "IT'S NOT A TUMAH".
it was a beer bottle cap from her night at the bar.
I had a headache the other day.I asked god to take it away.I had that headache all day.I guess he was just busy.
Why would God design our bodies so that these tumors can go away by themselves but still require us to beg for it to be removed by prayer?
Face palm heaven!
This woman is clearly a genius. I bet her and Elon Musk could have a great conversation.
So there's "in the natural" (equals "real world") and then there's "in the spirit" (equals wtf?)
- it's beyond the natural, supernatural,...thing we believe because we have faith.
You (atheists) are not sure where we came from. And I am sure, so...
facepalm
Yea and if she's so sure, then why does she need to call atheist shows with her vague circular arguments?
I'm sure too, it was the invisible flying spaghetti monster that created the universe.
utubewastingmytime Faith = Truth? What about children with invisible friends? What about other religions, are their faiths less potent?
I'm: TFSM not only created everything, he's making dinner for us this very night! And we see some LUMPS in the sauce, but TFSM assures us it's MEATBALLS. Maybe that's what she had, the holy meatballs and the cat ate them overnight? Praise The Flying Spaghetti Monster! Get it right, beeyotch!
You think you know and have no proof we don't want to believe any bull shit without proof
I could quite easily say that I was created by superman and I no because this book tolled me if u would call someone mental for genuinely believing that then u have to see y people would think the same about you
The invisible man named god made me becoming I believe and a book
Well woopty do where is the actual proof
That was going to be exactly my comment. My mother has lupus and has had this problem for decades now, cysts form on her breasts, sometimes they need draining, but most of the times they heal themselves.
whats a spirit?
"supernatural"
explain a nonsense word with a nonsense word, fantastic...
Why wont god cure this mental illness? Instead of promoting and nurturing and encouraging it. Hey its great to be ga ga and that is so enlightening .
John: um, YES.
There's been almost 1000 (a bloody thousand!) of these shows over the years, and still it's like bicycling up the Niagara falls!
I wonder how many of these callers actually convert to atheism or even start to critically review their own ingrained beliefs.
But I suppose it can't be much help that creationism is being taught in schools, for example
How do you get rid of arrogance? By fighting it? By ignoring it?
I don't know, but kudos to Matt and the team for never giving up on their "mission"
Matts' favorite and commonplace power move before his monotonous closing arguments "You're done' What a graceful gentleman for a call in show.
It's still tone trolling, even if you delete the comments that point that out.
puckerings
It's called trolling, and i would appreciate if you would stop. Thank You!
Just speaking my mind, dude. That's all.
puckerings
Okay! You're done! ;)
Jesus doesn't like sarcasm. He told me. You're going to hell now.
I know so many people with cancer and tumor pray to "God" but nothing fixed the next day ..
Isn't brainwashing amazing? She's only one step away from the poison Kool-Aid.
It was a fatty corpuscle. Very common in breast tissue and often confused for a tumor.
"I axed god."
Proof that god doesn't exist....she took an axe to his ass!
I axed god too and missed...because he is a spirit.
I axed god to heal me...
Fo real, yo.
She thinks any lump is a tumor.
She could've had a cyst- I have cysts and they feel like lumps but they can suddenly disappear. I've had cysts disappear overnight- they just drain.
I've read Legend of Dune. I was unaware of another prequels. What's the title?
Why am I so out of the loop on this one?
what schools are creationism being taught in? my understanding is that creationists are trying to get their views into school, but so far unsuccessfully.
The irony of your statement is just too good.
In fact, it's common sense that when you attack someone, mock his character, dare him to do what you want, and insult his person he will withdraw from you."
i don't attack it because i don't think it is real. it is not an insult to ask that YOU to explain why i should think your imaginary friend exists. i wouldn't be insulted if people who never met me didn't blindly accept my existence.
I'm not sure if I posed this as a question, so I will now. What do you think of Perry as Cross? Or are you not a fan? It's cool if not. Most people don't care for Patterson's style.
"i didnt call to argue with yall" well why did you even call? did you think that they would blindly believe every word that you say?
Azackly, she called to give them the TRUE, an Matt wunt letter just give him the faxe, but axed her too many questions and she din wan play no moh!
@EGMAG Like I said. What is the smell of blue? The taste of green? The fact that you can formulate a question does not mean that there is a valid answer.
Plz stop axing god, he may be god, but axes are sharp and hurt
"I believe in God based on the Universe having a beginning & the existence of moral absolutes and logical absolutes."
It doesn’t matter how convinced you are; belief doesn't equal knowledge.
1. I got the wrong size steel toe boots for a new job
2. Worked a 10 hr shift with the new boots rubbing
3. I was in pain and after my shift was over 2 of my toes were numb.
4. I took the shoes back, got a size bigger and prayed to god
5.No more shoe problem or pain or numb toes.
6. Yup ! musta been the g.o.d. oh that Jesus ! it was a miracle !
These callers are comedic.
So she called to preach, not to discuss anything reasonably.
Forget her alleged "tumor"; she needs to get some psychiatric help asap.
