Tom Selleck climbed that stairway in an episode of Magnum P.I. back in season one in 1981 and it looked pretty shaky then.

@@JoannBasilio I can imagine you got back to the ship and crashed after being up that long and hiking all that way! (I would've liked to have been stationed in a sub out of Pearl; I tried a couple times when I was due for a transfer but it didn't happen. 😿)
@@schnertblatt Fortunately, I wasn't living on the ship at that time. Where have you been stationed? Do you miss it? I definitely miss Hawaii
@@JoannBasilio My sea duty stations were on boats out of New London, Charleston, and San Diego. I loved being stationed in San Diego and had shore duty there too. San Diego was my favorite place to be stationed! I can well imagine you miss Hawaii!

Great video. I went up the same route. One of those houses now has a trail camera on that spillway area and if you try to walk up it slowly and quietly, he yells out that he's calling the police and has you on video.

I'll start by saying I am not promoting engagement with illegal activity... We started the hike earlyyyy.
