    I’m multi-generational mixed. To the world I’m black, to the black community I’m not black enough, and when I claim my blackness I’m told to be quiet, yet if I don’t claim my blackness I’m told that I’m ashamed of my roots. I literally can’t win so I’ve given up… I’m just me. To all my black and multiracial queens, I love yall. I stand with yall no matter what. Btw… I love this video so much. Thank you for speaking on it.

      i am not a woman. but i think this whole "dsw are jealous of lsw" is really overstated at least in america. there's a lot of competition among women and its on complexion, looks, hair etc. for example, my ls aunt told me that when she was teen, she was jealous of my ds aunt who happened to be more petite with a nicer shape. the ds aunt was envious because guys seemed to be attracted to the ls aunt's complexion.
      but those attitudes should change over time with maturity and education. for example, my 33 yo sister is a dsw and she has friends of all complexions. i have know bw all my life and they have ds and ls friends, but they still have competition and envy based on different attributes.

    this is real for me. i started dating a white guy and we’ve been together for a little over a year, my family basically lit me up for this and told me I was a sellout and made comments abt how “dark” my skin is and I should be ashamed of myself for being with him. I’ve been called Oreo and whitewashed all my life and I’m honestly over it, then they felt the need to “remind” me that non BP hate me and will never accept me. When non BP have been the most accepting of me and have actually compared their hair texture and certain facial features to mine before. I also have experienced being called Oreo, wannabe white etc It became a constant criticism from black people so much that most of my friends are white. Some of my family harassed me for having so many white friends but when I hang around them they don't sit there and tease and harass me. So I am more comfortable with them than black people who tend to tease and bully me..I don't care anymore because I have dealt with this all my life and I refuse to hang around mean hateful people just because we're the same race

      @divinebeaute Месяц назад +1

      @@Dentsun4228probably because said white guy is an individual and so is she? them being in an interracial relationship doesn’t automatically mean there is something wrong with their dynamic. two individuals from different races can be in a loving healthy relationship, even in america.
      also saying her family knows her more than herself so there’s automatically some truth to what they said is crazy. you don’t know her or her family. stop rage-baiting and invalidating her story when her family clearly has very little regard for her multicultural identity and they’re just as ignorant as you.

      @@divinebeaute yes, it is entirely possible for people of different races to fall in love w each other. no question about that. that said, its valid to ask "why a white guy?" there's men of aa, asian, hispanic, arab, african, caribbean origins all over america. the only guy she could find just happens to be white? especially when you consider the power dynamics of race in america, there should always be some question about what is the true basis of the attraction.
      and if i were you, i would never dismiss the family as "ignorant." the family is the unit that raised her. they love her. they know her far better than you and me. if they have concerns about the relationship, they have a right and responsiblity to express their concerns. if i were the white guy, i would never want to be in a relationship with a bw whose family didnt accept me. those relationships are doomed to an ugly death.
