So happy you came across the MGM term and found a fitting description for yourself! I explain MGM to people by using someone like Zoe Kravitz as a super simple example. She has two biracial parents so she is also mixed just like they are. She can't radomly be 100% black if both her parents aren't even a full 50% black. & if she were to have a child with a bircial or another MGM like herself, their child would also be mixed and so on & so forth for every generation that her family keeps doing that. It' easier for them to grasp what you're saying when you start from the point of someone having two biracial parents and then getting into that same scenario presenting itself within the same one family over and over and over for multiple generations. The family never gets a chance to become predominantly black or white (or whatever else). It just stays mixed. I also use the colors black and white as examples. If i mix black with white, I get grey. The grey would be a biracial person. If I mix that grey with more grey (another biracial person), the paint doesn't magically turn back to black. It stays grey.I can keep adding more grey to the mix as many times as I want & it will never magically turn black. It's going to remain grey. And you can add black from time to time (this would be a monoracially black person) & it might turn that grey to dark grey or you can add a white person here and there and it might turn the grey to light grey but so long as you'te MOSTLY mixing grey with other grey, it's going to stay within a grey realm. Not black nor white. Great video!
Is that you in the pic? If so, really cool! I myself am likewise in the MGM category- descending from the mulattoes and Louisiana creoles on both sides of my family. I embrace it to the maximum and hopefully we can all continue doing so.
Wow! You’re describing my family. Both parents Louisiana Creole, grandparents (both sides) Creole and great grandparents Creole too. If you saw a picture of me, you would think I’m white. Glad that I’m on this journey with you.
@@user-zw2oo8ut2x that’s so interesting! I believe my dads side to be Louisiana Creole and my moms side to be White and Native and Black. DNA test soon! So happy you’re on this journey too✨💕
If you look white then you are white. That’s how race works. It’s phenotypical lol. My mother is Louisiana creole and nobody thinks she’s mixed. She’s dark skin and people mistake her for East African
My mother is Creole, German and black. She always get called Puerto rican 😂 or half Native American. My father is black. I wasn’t raised by my mother I found out I was MGM from my aunt at age 18 😮😮 my grandmother is a white German woman. I always felt that I wasn’t fully black growing up though so once I found out everything made more sense 😊
Isn’t it sooo eye- opening when you realize who you really are?! I felt the exact same way. I’m going to take a dna test and share the results on this channel when I get them.
Just figured out I'm an MGM. I'm tan/ Caramel skin tone NC45 or Fenty 385/390 Black passing. Parent's skin tones similar to Beyonce. Grandad is Bi racial I have always called myself black but now I feel like an Idiot. lol. The darkest lightskin apparently. I would have been called a sacatra, I called myself caramel cutie when I was younger. My tan range is huge and I have had a tan the majority of my life. Yay a video by an MGM we need more.
He had a white dad and black mother ,I have a black father and white mother - if you have 2 parents that are half white and half black you are also half white and half black your biracial too it’s just simple science (doesn’t need to be white or black just have mixed parents)
I've always been hard to like connect with any other groups of people being native African and Latin I don't really consider myself Latin that much because it's such a small percentage of My blood.. but the native and the Black culture I've always felt connected to but never welcomed by anyone so it's been kind of hard to be honest
