The problem with the walled garden isn't that everything works well together. It's that they lock out products from other companies. They make it difficult to switch out any of their products, or switch over to a competitor's system.

exactly!! Like texting a video. WTF apple. It is like civil war footage to go between apple and android. It creates an us and them situation and sort of a superiority thing with iphone users. As a professional content creator it kills me. I can not get content from clients unless they put in dropbox or drive. Even worse is they do not realize the stuff on icloud is still super compressed. I think it should not have been allowed as it causes so many issues. Yes maybe you use data. Maybe you can opt in to do so? Maybe it gets downloaded when you are on WIFI? I feel like they wanted a monopoly. This new pixel looks really promising I just ordered one.

Ecosystem is a problem when people think because they use Ecosystem, they are better than others.
Apple Ecosystem is certainly good, but if i want a phone, i just want a iPhone. I don't like Apple and Apple fanboys telling me every time, i need an Apple Watch or your need to buy a MacBook or you absolutely need AirPods to have an experience.
AirPods connect well with iPhone but am i allowed to think or to buy Sony earbuds because i think those are better earbuds ?
MacBook are sure great laptop with amazing battery life but am i allowed to think or to buy a Windows laptop with 8-10 hours of battery life and 300-600 euros less than a MacBook Air when i only need a laptop for writing some mail, watching Disney/Netflix shows, going to my bank account or some light Photos editing ?

I love my Macbook and my iPad, but I can never bring myself to love the iPhone. I tried using one for a week and went back to using an Android. I don't use social media (except RUclips) that much, so optimized socmed apps don't do much for me. Also, some Android apps I enjoy using aren't in the Apple store, so that's a big bummer. I also love how it's easier to customize an Android and make your phone sort of like an extension of your personality. Also, I still prefer fingerprint over FaceID. The iPhone has many pros, and so do Android phones. At the end of the day, it's always about one's preference.

I'm glad this actually came up because as an Android user, using my voice assistant AKA OK Google is probably the one function I use more than anything. Whether I'm driving and say OK Google "navigate to 2145 Southeast 21st terrace" without having to pick up the phone is a huge deal for me.
Or the million and one questions I ask it from setting reminders, to asking who won the Lakers versus jazz last night, or anything in between is the function I used most by far. I've been considering getting an iPhone 14 pro Max, even though I've been an Android user since the beginning, and I do know that with the Apple Play Store I can download the OK Google Voice Assistant or Alexa or Siri and use either of them as my default. But if I'm being told that they don't work as well on the iPhone then that is a big deal for me. Can I ask one question?...
While using the iPhone 14 pro Max, let's say I use the Google Voice Assistant as my default and ask what the weather is outside today, will it verbally reply to me that it is 24 degrees Celsius like it does with my OnePlus Android phone? I'm assuming it does verbally respond if you choose so in the settings. Unless you tell me otherwise.
And the second and most common function that I use is speaking my text messages or emails or any other form of message. I haven't typed an actual message in years because I only use voice to text. So my only question with that would be does the iPhone 14 pro Max offer the same type of performance as the flagship Android phones like the pixel 7pro or s22 Ultra?
Now I don't need anything fancy in terms of the assistant. I just need it to answer my questions verbally, I don't need any special customization, and as far as speaking my messages, all I would want is that it recognizes my voice and keeps up with the way I speak. This whole message has been spoken verbally and I'm using a 3-year-old oneplus 7 t Pro McLaren edition.
I apologize for the long message however because I do speak the messages they tend to get away from me.
Thank you in advance.. as any information on those two functions I mentioned will definitely help me make my choice.

What’s Android Pay like when compared to Apple Pay?

  • @zacharyhansen8250
    @zacharyhansen8250 Год назад +7

I do think that the IPhone and it's ecosystem are very strong choices and are easy and seemless to use. That is something that has a lot of merit to it, especially for someone who maybe doesn't enjoy having to fiddle with all their tech and fine tune it to work exactly how they want.
Apple performs incredibly in those categories because of its exclusivity. You only want to use apple products with other apple products, you subject yourself to the apple vacuum.
Android may lose out in some optimizations in certain categories because of this, however the ability to fine tune and customize every single aspect of how your phone works, how it interacts with other products and the sheer amount of choices you have to work with in the Android ecosystem is where the benefit of Android comes in. And as a tech enthusiast and someone who likes to customize my experience I will always be team Android.
There are other practices that I don't particularly enjoy on the apple side, mostly the price. Every part of the apple ecosystem is an investment, while the longevity of most of their products helps offset that cost, it's just hard to justify paying as much as you do for something that performs very similarly for a significantly cheaper price tag. It won't have that apple quality, but not everyone is willing to pay an extra premium for a nicer unboxing experience.

Both are amazing but apple is so good with the ecosystem and the build quality. The apps are super smooth as well. 2 things are super annoying though and wish those would change. 1 the notifications suck on iPhone. The was they show/clear/use on android is far more superior.
2 the lightning sucks even more than usb a lol jk but seriously usb c is way better.

My main reason for the upgrade was the camera. I love taking pics of my day to day life and I was sure the Pixel 7 pro would wow me with its amazing pictures. I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed! Yes it had better features and photo processing than my 4 year old (2018) phone, but the difference wasn't stunning enough to justify the high cost of the upgrade. With a very heavy heart and after many hours of research and experimenting, I returned the Pixel 7 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20 pro was ahead of its time 4 years ago, and it's still relevant enough with super quick charging (40w), extending storage with a 256gb card, and long battery life, to stick with for now until the next big brand releases a smartphone with an upgrade that's worth replacing it with. Can anyone else relate? I still can't believe I returned one of the "best phones of 2022" to keep my 2018 relic.

Have Mate 20 pro too and I replaced the battery this summer so I can use it for another year because all the new phones are not worth upgrading.

Huawei is a total non event. After owning the P30 Pro I feel the camera is so overrated. Pair that with crap software and non existent software updates, you've got yourself a nice paper weight.

The developers of apps such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat etc, they all were developed with the iPhone in mind, not Android. That's why almost all social Media apps run slidly better on iPhones, cause they were optimised for iPhones in the first place, and it stayed that way till today, that's a Unfortunate Downside to Android Phones

Coming from the 12s ultra my pixel battery life is now the same as my Xiaomi at 90hz Vs my pixel at 120hz. It takes 2 to 4 days for the battery management to finish optimising then the pixel sips battery....I don't use AOD on any of them though. Also the smart connectivity feature tends to use excessive battery in the background for me. Currently at 89% with 1hr 19mins of SoT with 1hr 40mins of usage. I was getting 7 to 8 hrs on stock but it looks like I'm about to get 10 hrs+, rooted and on Despair kernel with conservative gov.

I have both and as much as I like the Pixel 7 Pro, I prefer the 14 Pro Max for everything you said. I like the customization of the Pixel, but user experience goes to the iPhone. Voice to Text and Google Assistant beats Apple. Also apps look better on the iPhone. Apple ecosystem hands down and not even close. The Pixel is the best overall Android IMO. Slightly edges out the Samsung Ultra 22. I have that one too.

So wait just to be clear, unless you mistyped, you're saying the voice to text and voice assistant is better on the pixel 7 then the iPhone? I'm only asking because I haven't typed a text message in years as I only speak my messages whether it's on SMS or email etc, I never type. I hit the microphone and speak my messages. That is a huge huge huge factor for me in my choice of switching over to the iPhone 14 pro Max or sticking with Android.
Secondly, you mentioned the voice assistant is better on the pixel 7 Pro. But the way you worded it might have me getting it backwards.
I use the Google Voice Assistant with my OnePlus phone for everything including setting reminders, asking random questions about people places and things at least 20 times per day. Now with my current Android phone I use OK Google, however I know with the iPhone, I can use OK Google or hey Siri or Alexa as my default voice assistant.
So essentially my question is, being that I use speaking verbally instead of actually typing out the text messages, or emails, and the fact that I use the voice assistant constantly throughout the day, oftentimes while I'm driving, saying OK Google navigate to 2145 31st avenue without even having to pick up my phone is extraordinarily important that it works well.
So being that you own all 3 including the s22 ultra, pixel 7 Pro and 14 pro Max, (which are the three phones I'm looking at) were you saying that those functions of speech texting and voice assistant are far better on Android versus Apple, or the other way around? Or is the difference between Apple and Android in terms of those functions not that big a difference?
Sorry about the long text but those two functions are definitely what I use most on my handset, so any clarification would be super helpful. Thanks in advance

And apps don't look better on Apple apps look more plain on Apple! And have less features! User experience and UX are the same on both platforms The only difference is Google gives you more freedom whereas with Apple you just have to deal with it and then get brainwashed into thinking that it's the best! But people only feel that way about Apple because they have no control over it they just sit down and say well if I can't change it I guess I just got to deal with it!

@@Daveyboy_GolfR dude he doesn't know what he's trying to say, All he knows is that Apple is better and everything else can't compete at all. Which would make him wrong. Just like most iOS users! There's only a very small amount of iPhone users who will admit the truth about Apple they don't make the best devices in fact their devices are just as glitchy as Android and when you actually use a 13,14 pro Max you find out battery life and ecosystem isn't as good as all the RUclipsrs And isheep are saying. The fact of the matter is both operating systems are the same One isn't better than the other One has way more features than the other but even I still don't consider that to be the best.
