First of all, what the heck Bowser was doing to Peach in the Clown Car?! And second you have to be very accurate to hit him cause it took me minutes to beat him the first time!
My first game that I beat as a kid. The final phase scares me as a kid when the Clown is pissed and start stomping around the stage. I remember managing to win despite of this
I always wondered what the Princess was doing to Bowser while she crunched down below while he's standing up fighting Mario. She fighting the battle on her knees so to speak 🤣
when i was child a neighbarhood give his snes and i played this game because i didnt have computer and ,day by day i was atracted by this game untill i finished him.now i have emulator to remember to old good times:D
I used to make this a lot harder than it had to be when I was a kid. I had no idea you could kick an enemy upward and hit Bowser. I used to do it the hard way, by getting a cape, grabbing an enemy, flying up over Bowser and dropping it down on him from above. And that was extremely difficult, but I managed to finally beat him after numerous tries. When I discovered that you only had to kick an enemy upward, I was pissed.
I played this game when I was 3 or 4 years old over and over, I remember playing this and actually feeling very scared of this boss, the music the darkness everything.
Oddly the first time I saw this battle, was at a friend's house (I didn't have an SNES yet, this game convinced me I needed one), and he taped himself beating the game on a VHS. I'll never forget the scaling effects when Bowser would fly off, then back onscreen, I had never seen a console do that before. There were games in arcades, like some of Namco's output at the time (Legend of Valkyrie and Phelios come to mind) that had scaling like this.
I was about.... 8 or 9 when I first beat this game. I play it 10 years later to find out about "Star World" and the "Special" levels... All of those harder than the Bowser fight haha
one of the greatest mario games of all time! Although I was disappointed with the lack of music clarity! Note that the bowser theme here is ALSO used for Bowser Castle tracks in Super Mario Kart! Good knowledge!
I recently bought this game at a thrift store. I usually would play it at my friend's house but I decided to buy my own copy. Beat the game in 2 days. But this is probably my favorite boss battle ever.
"Is it a propeller? Is it a clown's mouth? Is it Ness the clown? No! It's BOWSER! Oh dear! I have to run away!" -Me upon encountering this boss when I was 8 or 9 and played the GBA reboot.
They are caught up on trends and kid friendly material to reduce violence or at least the thought of knocking a Koopaling into the lava was too intense for child players.
@@TheBuilderPro2024 The user is in charge of the content of Mario Maker. Nintendo is not responsible for how a user designs their levels. Mainstream games are different. Take new new 2-D Mario games, which I was referring to... The old Super Mario World games with some Koopaling battles are won by knocking a them in to the lava or they wind up in the lava when they are defeated. The new Super Mario games are won by stomping on them 3 times and temporarily knock them out and then they come to and jump off screen. Even though there are some scenes that are questionable, their goals in E rated games tend to reduce the carnage, mainly with consequential death scenes because being knock into the lava when you look back at it is death and at the same time, when the next game comes out, it don't make any sense that the Koopalings are the antagonists again because well, didn't some of them get knocked into lava in the last adventure? How are they still alive for the next adventures?
It wasn't until I was playing SMB3 on Wii the other night that I realized the music at this end battle on SMW is a remixed version of the music on the final world on SMB3.
i remember when i was little and i would always keep beatin the game. i think i beat it like 20 times but i just loved this game. my mom always loved donkey kong
LOL! I like it how Mario turns around to look up at Bowser in the second round. That was what I always did when I played it too! Great video. 7 stars + favorites. :oD
brings back memories..... i remember christmas morning in 1991 . i nearly shit my pants with joy when i saw a super nintendo under the tree. they dont mae game like they used to.
meh so many memories... i grew up with this game and i dont regret it mario was awsome- i could still(i bet) beat this game with my eyes closed :P but i dont remeber were i left my snes :( sad i think mom trew it away wen i lived home
There’s something aesthetically pleasing about this being a VHS recording
Makes it all the better. If really grew up then you understand. Some loser troll that hates his life will impersonate though.
Wasn’t even born around that time but the vhs recording is really pleasing.
This was my first ever final boss... this fight will always be apart of my childhood
Going back a bit further but getting to whatever world dash 4 and "thank you mario but our princess is in another castle"
Bruh when this was your first final boss you since must've been disapointed from any final bossen towards like it doesnt get better then this.

As a kid, i was scared of everything in this level, the music, the thunders, Bowser, the 3D effects, etc
This was nothing compared to Yoshi's Island.
Hahahah same but im just scared in level ghost house :)
And totally, the zoom at 0:49
I was pretty calm till the music sped up and downright rattled when the clowncar looked angry and was trying to stomp me
I was more terrified of the clown vehicle than Bowser himself - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Im so happy my childhood was during the beginning of home entertainment systems
Hi
How can a sadistic overlord be so threatening when he’s driving a clown car?
Fr
God I miss this game. One of the best games ever made. Such a classic.
I remember being a 14 year old playing this game. Now a 40s year old Grandfather. Time has passed
I'm 16 years old, i'm proudly to say that this is the best game i ever played in my life and this will be the best memory i ever had
and to think this battle startled me when i was a child.
everytime king koopa did that thing of going to the screen...
i got scared...
This was me only, it was Metroid Zero Mission. That fly boss startled me to the point where I literally chucked my SP.
The Aerohead Experience
holy hell 0_0
+Bibita Caslag you know something more scary?
Omega Flowey
(Fun Fact: The Bowser theme sounds like Omega Flowey theme (your best nightmare) )
+Elmo64 That boss is one of the least intimidating thing I've ever seen, it looks like Yes Man from New Vegas trying to tend an overgrown garden.
Ace lol XD
Good old Super Mario World. Had to have been one of the most entertaining games to play as a child. :)
this game got rated top 8 nintendo game of all time
i still love to dig out my SNES just to play this
This is one of the best Nintendo games of all time
VHS those were the days before youtube or anything lol
I still use them
VHS is just RUclips: Neighborhood Edition
I would die SO fast.
I'm so obsessed with bowser and his clown car. I could watch this all day...
This took me so many tries when I first played it. It was super difficult for me when I was a little kid.
I love games when the villain feels like a serious threat to the protagonist and the world.
Like Biden?
Fr
That screen zoom at the end was impressive
This truly is one of the most epic moments in video games ever.
my dad bought the snes then i was born and i got this game then i played it to 18 years old and kept playing
you are not 18
Anna Tom so youre 18 and he bought you the game in 1998?? The N64 was already out by that time lol
I like when bowser gets hit he sees stars and that’s funny lol 😂
I cant believe anything on espn.com would link to this video, but it did
Is it bad that I'm still impressed at the scaling effect on Bowser, 20 years later?
And now it is 30 years later
It was a pretty epic fight
The music is epic. I think that's what makes you think that because the music is in there.
not exactly,I'm saying it because all the things that happens during the fight;the lightning, the effect of bowser goign to the background, etc, etc, etc.
I think Sonic 3 took the going in the background thing. Because in Marble Garden's boss, he flies into the background to try to drill you.
Fr it’s better than most modern bowser fights imo
My favorite super nintendo entertainment system classic.
Oh, the memories. I remember when I would get so frustrated when I couldn't beat bowser.
me acuerdo que hace uff 13 años jugaba este juego..ayyyy momentos inolvidables de mi infancia :)
The nostalgia of Super Mario World is a reminder that the past is as great as the present.
This bowser fight was more interesting than most bowser fights today imo

Does it still work?
J'aime bien l'atmosphère de ce boss final.
Trés bien.
20 years and still one of the best game of snes
1:02 gave me nostalgic tingles just by hearing the little tune and the mushroom sound effect

Mario is a Italian plumber created by Japanese people who speaks English and looks like a Mexican. o__o
Mario is a man of culture as well

Peach: **throws a mushroom at mario**
Mario: SO YOUR -A THE ONE STEALING ALL MY MUSHROOMS PEACH?
My heart beat to 1000 when as a kid I arrived to this time.
oh man, I remember getting here when I was 6, the music creeped me out, but holy crap when that damn clown car literally flew into the screen.......
Bowser looks scary in this game and this theme and level is dark for a mario game. I loved this game
All the times my cousin and my sisters and I would play this, very good times

The VHS filter is a nice touch. Nice video, good memories.

The gba remake was better. ignoring the ost and screen crunch
Bowser looks genuinely quite scary in this game.
This game brings back good memories.
when i saw the clown i threw the sp at the wall. good thing it didnt break lol
So is he standing on top of Toadstool? Is that why she looks all smooshed when she throws you a mushroom?
