When the interviewer asked Marcus how he got through the 6-7 mile crawling after falling down from the hill, he just replied "I wasn't dead". Now this is the attitude of a SEAL.
I served 5 yrs in the Marine Corps with two tours to Iraq. Marcus Luttrell is a true hero. I have watched multiple of his interviews and he is non stop REAL talk. God bless you Mr. Luttrell.
I really like how Ed doesn't just dive right into Marcus's war memories and he talks to him about things that he is interested in, definitely one of the best interviews I've seen with him.
Respect for Mr. Young for not capitalizing on the mission and actually asking Marcus about his life before and after, much better than any other interview that just talks about Red Wings, Incredible amounts of respect for both of these gentlemen.
“ I wrote that check a long time ago” thank you for your service, God bless the men that lost their lives so I can live in this beautiful country safe and protected.
The book WAS much better than the movie, but the book always is. Marcus went into so much more detail in the book, especially in BUDS it was unbelievable. Then the actual story of what him and his brothers experienced in Afghanistan. So Much better and in depth than the movie. However the movie was Excellent too. Thank you Marcus and much respect to your fallen Brothers.
When Marcus jokes “have an ambulance ready bc I’m gonna go till I die!” - he’s joking but knowing his actual history, he really WOULD go until he died. Wow. What a beast.
Marcus is quite a guy, an American Hero and Warrior. I've seen allot of footage on Marcus, enough to know he's the real deal, genuine. I love the Seal community.
it's amazing to see how his demeanor changes when he re-tells the red wings mission. it's not like he's explaining a movie or story, he's re-living those events and feeling all those emotions and pain each time he talks about it.
After watching this Pastor I may need to re-think my "Atheist" beliefs. Maybe start to listen more to my fellow man and maybe change some of my views about life. Good video. Love this casual, heart-felt interview.
I admire Marcus Luttrell's military bravery and his commitment to help disable vets. His first book made me cry, and so did Lone Survivor, which I am sure will probably sweep the a few Oscars. It was exceptionally directed and the acting was superb. I had to drink a couple of Sam Adams just to get me mentally ready for the movie because I knew it was going to blow me away. I must admit I look at vets differently now.
Hell of an experience meeting him. I actually got him "in trouble" because there was a line of people waiting to meet him, but I had a Manning jersey on and all he wanted to do was talk about hanging out with him during physical rehab... Amazing man.
Much Respect for Marcus Luttrell. I love how he has every right to act like a Bad ass from being a Navy seal but chooses to remain humble. Such a huge inspiration for so many people and a True living American hero. God bless Marcus Luttrell and his family. Thank you for your service and sacrifice for our country.
i wanna say thanks to all vets that served my highest repects go to all vets they don't get enough appreciation that they should be getting i watched lone survivor almost 100 times that and American sniper those movies never get old
True warrior & inspiration for all. I'm a police officer & served myself so I know about brotherhood. Marcus you & your fallen brothers are tru Heros. May God Bless you & May your brothers be smiling down upon you. Great interview Mr Young.
I just finished this book on Christmas Eve. It is with out doubt one of the most gripping, heart wrenching inspiring book I have ever laid eyes on. We shoudl all be as lucky as Mr. Luttrell to have people who we are that close to and woudl stand by us in such extreme circumstances. God Bless the Luttrell Family and all our heros in uniform.
This is the best interview with Marcus Luttrell that I have seen so far. He seems more relaxed and you actually get a feel for him as a regular person. Thanks for doing a great interview..
Beautiful. Truly a man's man that doesn't tell you what you want to hear but honestly speaks his mind. Marcus Luttrell is a true inspiration. A man who has seen Hell, literally crawled through it. Though I know it still may haunt him, as it would any man who has seen what he has... He is able to face those demons and has forged a new life from those moments in which he and his brethren answered the call of duty. His commitment and love to his fallen family is awe inspiring. He may not except it or even want to hear it...but he truly is an American hero. My love and support go to this man as he continues to fight the good fight. Persevering through it, humbly, yet proudly.
A true testament of how someone faced with adversity as a child can overcome those negatives, grow mentally and spiritually, and become a positive factor in many peoples lives. Awesome interview Ed Young.
I like how Ed Young didnt just jump in and talk to him about the worst day of his life. I like how he connected with Marcus and got him to talk about life, his hobbies and career. So much more respect for this great American hero. Seems like Marcus really liked talking to Ed.
Love that dog!..He's like, "Marcus is busy now. This will take a while as there are many waiting to receive his wisdom & inspiration to push forward. Time for a long nap, finally!"
Sounds like Marcus and his brother having a Dad like they have, meeting Billy, the Viet Nam vet and having gone through his camp were very pivitol times in their lives. GOD bless Marcus, his Dad, Billy and all our GREAT US military, Thank all of you for your service.
I've decided to take a big step in my life and become a Navy SEAL so I've been doing research like crazy and when I came across Marcus's Luttrell videos they really inspired me. thank you for your service sir I look up to you and hope I get to shake your hand someday
I loved listening to your story and reading your book because I can relate to the things you say and do. I have a mantra that keeps me going. "Winners never quit, and quitters never win". I learned commitment in the Marine Corps, then I got married six years later, thirty years ago. Much respect.
From the early days after "Lone Survivor"news reports, book, and then the movie, Marcus seems so much less haunted, and has lost that "1000 yard stare" in his eyes. I don't know the man at all, but I have been concerned about him, as a fellow Vet (Absolutely no comparison in any way to my time in grade and his), Cowboy and human being. It's good to see him looking calmer, and more settled with himself and his life. Also......Gotta LOVE that dog!
Truly, A great man. I agree as well with what was said. Mr. Luttrell was nothing more than a soldier doing the will of God. Nothing else can be disputed about that. God bless him. And for our sake, God bless everybody.
In our society today, we look up to athletes from all sports, singers and entertainers, even politicians as role models. These people don't come close to what men like Marcus Luttrell, Chris Kyle, and etc. are...they can be and how they fight for our freedom and give their lives without pause each and every day! Marcus and men like him are my heroes!
Fantastic interview, and interviewer. I'm sure Marcus appreciated being asked about things he enjoys doing, and his childhood, and family. One of my all time heroes. Really teaches me discipline, and to never give up.
My first friend when I moved to Copperas Cove Texas (after dad got transferred from Long Beach Shipyard) was Miranda Finkelstein. She raised and trained Labrador retrievers for southeastern guide dogs. I love when my friends can also help my 🦸♂️
Some are borne to be Sentinels of Responsibility for the greater good of humanity. Some have to take a stand for those whom cannot or will not stand for themselves; seems often that those who will not take a stand live with a terrible disparity, an incongruence of the knowledge of our World and Universe. - "Sometimes good men have to do violent things." - Unknown. Grateful for the service of these men and women.
Thank You for your sacrifice and service to our great NATION, Marcus Lattrell. You have inspired many people all over the world to be a better person and to live life like it's your last day. I hope that God gives you the strength to carry on considering all the injuries that you have had through out your military career. Our country owe Marcus and all of the men and women a great debt of gratitude. Greetings from Atlantic City New Jersey U S A! Semper Fi!
this is one of the best interviews ive seen, marcus is having a good time. i heard him complain no one wants to talk to him about anything but op redwings. This is awsome well done pastor Ed whoever you are
Marcus Luttrell is an american hero he does'nt claim to be a hero but his actions in battle are proof that he is.I've read his book lone survivor on four different occasions and his book service twice so far.He and his twin brother Morgan and the rest of the seal team guys all do and have done some of the most risky jobs in the name of america they all are hero's in my book. This guy and all men and women in uniform deserve to be treated like the hero's they are.Thank a verteran of all battles & wars both today and tomorrow anytime an opportunity to do so arises.God bless the United States.
Thank you for posting this interview. Marcus Luttrell is a highly intelligent person with firm foundation in the Lord Jesus Christ. You pastor Ed sound like an awesome pastor, down to earth and a fine human being who believes in the Lord.
much better interview than other ones he's had, more conversational about his life than just the straight insensitive ignorant questions he's gotten from others about the Seal team tragedy.
I wish Marcus would run for president in 2024. He's a great leader and I would storm the gates of hell for him, our country and our Lord and saviour. I got out of the military in 2015 and in the process for selection now. You sir have given me a second wind in my faith not only in God but humanity as well. God bless all and thank you for being the man we should all strive to be.
I appreciate that he talked about his Father being so hard on him and his brother and yet so intelligent. Still he learned to be the right kind of adult by knowing the opposite of his Father was the right way to be good man. I too has a father with a genius IQ, I have A.D.D. and I never did anything good enough, he was also a drunk, after work! I learned how not to be like him. I like Marcus's attitude that we have no excuses when your an adult, no matter what you go through it is all on you, no matter what.
Great video! My older son gave my younger son the book Lone Survivor. He 13 years old and enjoying the book very much. Marcus is a great role model for young people. I love his values, his pride and how down to earth he is. Thank you!
When the interviewer asked Marcus how he got through the 6-7 mile crawling after falling down from the hill, he just replied "I wasn't dead". Now this is the attitude of a SEAL.

I really like how Ed doesn't just dive right into Marcus's war memories and he talks to him about things that he is interested in, definitely one of the best interviews I've seen with him.
Except for the fact I only clicked on this video to hear his war stories lol
Marcus Luttrell is a living example of a true American hero.
Of all people, the Afghan man that aided Marcus deserves everything the United States can do for him and his family.
We stopped because we ran out of blood and bullet's... God bless you brother
Marcus never fired his rifle .
Marcus has inspired me to keep going. Keep fighting in life.
He's a hero, not because of what he went through, but because of what he signed up for in the first place. They're all heroes.
The book WAS much better than the movie, but the book always is. Marcus went into so much more detail in the book, especially in BUDS it was unbelievable. Then the actual story of what him and his brothers experienced in Afghanistan. So Much better and in depth than the movie. However the movie was Excellent too. If only the world were full of more people like Marcus. We’d be so much better off. He is a national treasure.
If you ever have a "tough" day at work, refer to his story. 100% change of mindset/motivation. God bless America and all our service people.
He is so inspirational when he talks, especially about never quitting. "What else do you have for me?"

I did not know any of this had happened until I watched this. Talk about a true American hero. Absolute machine. 🇺🇸 The elite
It's nice to see an interview with Marcus where he is comfortable.

What a American Hero !!! Much respect brother !!!
Hats off to both of you!! I'm so proud to know that Marcus Luttrell is a church going Christian who grew up in a good family with values.
Marcus and Morgan are such humble dudes despite being SEALS they are so humble and have that get it done attitude💯
A true testament of how someone faced with adversity as a child can overcome those negatives, grow mentally and spiritually, and become a positive factor in many peoples lives. Awesome interview Ed Young.
He makes me want to be a better person.
Hope he will continue to live a normal life with his beautiful family. God bless him and the heroes of Operation Red Wings

A true American Hero..God Bless Marcus Luttrell...!
Love this man, definitely an Angel. An American protector. Thank you Sir!
Marcus Luttrell is my hero. He's a real beast. Salute!
I REALLY RESPECT THIS MAN!
I enjoyed this conversation because it focused more on the person of Marcus Luttrell and not completely on the book, Operation Red Wings- EXCELLENT!
This is a really, really deep conversation, and I'm so glad I saw it.
I loved listening to your story and reading your book because I can relate to the things you say and do. I have a mantra that keeps me going. "Winners never quit, and quitters never win". I learned commitment in the Marine Corps, then I got married six years later, thirty years ago. Much respect.
