  • This is simply intended to be a guide for new players looking to try hand kiting as a herald for pug groups/casual weekly clears. Speed runners and meta chasers please look elsewhere.
Hands spawn in sets of five on the furthest player from Deimos. Herald can stack all five hands in one spot for neatness.
    (1) Start on staff and ventari legend.
    (2) Tank first three hands, then block the last two ticks with staff 3 before moving off the stack.
    (3) You won't have staff 3 up for the next set of hands so just outheal it with ventari heals.
    (4) Repeat from step (2) as necessary, unless ward attack happens, in which case move onto step (5).
    (5) When the ward attack happens, swap to glint legend and sword/shield and use glint heal to absorb the attack whilst keeping glint elite on passive for protection uptime. (Sometimes, the hands may still be spawning before the ward attack pops off. In this case, you can stay on staff weapon set for a little while longer for staff 3 block, to ensure your glint heal doesn't end before you have five stacked the hands.)
    (6) Tank first two hands then shield 5 to block the last three before moving off stack.
    (7) Activate glint elite active (this also gives superspeed to allow you to reposition to a different spot, or grab tears) and then swap back to ventari legend and staff.
    (8) Repeat from step (2).
On the last 10% watch out for the slam knockbacks - you can easily deal with these with staff 3 block, shield 5 block, or stunbreak from glint legend.

I use a mixture of minstrels, magis and clerics. Take as much toughness, vitality and healing power as you need. Toughness will depend on the tanks toughness so you may need to adjust. I run salvation 322, retribution 223 and herald 132. I use grove runes for morr protection uptime, but sanctuary runes are referred (but a pain in the bum to get).

what are you using to keep from dying to the Mind Crush?

Herald has 3 things that keep it from dying to mind crush - Glint heal, staff 3 and shield 5. You will see in the video that I use the glint heal, which transforms the damage from mind crush to healing. You could alternatively use shield 5 to block mind crush and then use glint heal to heal off the damage that you take after mind crush (this is now my preferred method).

The red things? Those are Deimos' hands. The player who is furthest away will have these spawn under him. They spawn in sets of five and do big damage. It is the handkiter's (me) job to be far away from the group and spawn the hands on the other aide of the arena.
