I'm also an OG ele main! LET'S GOO! I've played power staff weaver for YEARS now. LMAO. May I offer the advice of rebinding your keys to make the swapping a -little- easier. By rebinding your keys, it becomes more efficient to manage your rotations. My current bindings are: Replace WASD with ESDF for movement, tab for auto attack, Q = s1, W = s2, R = s3, T = s4, 1234 then become your element swaps, and shift QWEA for your healing/utility/elite skills. I believe doing this unbinds other things, but binding your settings, contacts, hero, ect. to your F keys fixes this (if you have them). Also, bind your mounts to any mouse keys you have. That's a game changer too!
thanks for this video... is very helpful... i think im gonna try tempest.... to have the option of the healing build and the power build but that catalyst build is tempting.... yes i would like more in depth build videos of Elementalist....
I just picked elementalist for fun as my first character. Needless to say, most of the time I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to do. Dropped the game, came back after few years and picked elementalist again and this time it went slightly better. I am still not perfect but at least, I now know how to deal with specific situations and what I am supposed to do where. I highly recommend that people don't play elementalist for their first character at all.
I maind ele back in 2013-14, so I very much remember the frost bow 4. my guild at the time used to run a full ele groupe. I have done some living story map completion with my ele and it got the itch going to play more ele. but haven't done any spec ele. this vid gave me what the elit specs dose and some nostalgia 5/5
Hey just a video idea , iv been meeting a lot of people that came back into the game after years can you do like a priority list of what needs to be done or get done to keep up . Thank you !!!
i had to try a few classes before, i level guardian and ranger till 30 them i went to the elementalist and now i'm 60 really cool class, btw i don't think that going in to pvp and having everything unlocked to test is good because you will be overwelmed with information and skills you didn't had the time to experience one by one, play like an hour with the class to see if you like it, i think is way better that way to be slowly introduced
Its my 3rd day as catalyst and i made a build that have 70% power and 30% condi (since we get down state a lot), so by having some condi i was able to finish some low hp mobs thus self reviving myself most of the time. What are your thoughts on that? also very thoughtful video, keep it up man
As an ex Warrior main I liked the greatsword better than the frostbow. Also I always saw my hits on the boss's lifebar so I let someone else pick it up :D
Yes to those build guides. Also, what build would you run for open world content? Is Power Weaver okay? I would rather stick to 1 heal and 1 DPS build for all PVE content if I can. Anyway thanks for the video, good guide!
You got it. The best is power catalyst right now, and if i had to choose, id go for fresh air tempest instead of weaver for open world. Use your staff to slack, and switch to sword warhorn if you wanna try hard, given that you have SoTo and weaponmaster training
@@xGuiders gotcha! Going to check that build out. Unfortunately I only have the HoT and PoF expansions at the moment so I'll have to stick to either a Dagger or a Scepter for now. Thanks again, cheers! Do more videos with the other professions please! 😁
I'm intrigued that you think that Catalyst is harder to play than Weaver. I found the opposite, although I wasn't playing Catalyst with a hammer. It might be my ping (>240), but I could never do attunement combinations fast enough. The Catalyst seems to be a lot kinder for people with high ping. Pretty much I camped fire, although I didn't do anything post-level 80 Tyria (did map completion).
They're both difficult, and when weaver first came out, learning the combo was pretty easy, but idk after trying to catalyst rotation with hammer. I just couldnt wrap my head around it. Right now tho with Sword / Warhorn Catalyst, I shit you not, the rotation makes my hand numb
A shame to see ranged weapons like staves are still unviable/unused. :( I hoped they would narrow the gap a bit, but seems everyone still plays elementalist as though it was a warrior.
ok frostbow 4 😂😂😂 funny story, I played gw2 a lot back like 7 years ago, then took a 6 year break, came back this April- ran one of the AC paths n was so surprised n confused why no one was yelling for frostbow. it wasn't until recently that I found out frostbow4 was nerfed 😂😂😂 that dungeon run I def took frostbow - I thought I was imagining it that it didn't kill the burrows in one shot XD
haha, now its pretty useless, would be nice if we had the chance to go back for a bit. Spam fiery greatsword 4 on the wall in AC during spider phase and shit xD
Frost Bow OG here. Good old days, big dps!
Thank you for this guide. I main a Staff Elementalist. Love using staff on Tempest, Weaver, and Catalyst.
I exist. Returning player. Great guide. I remember the frost bow days.
You read my mind, was planning to look up a guide for lvl 80 elementalist after recently getting into GW2. This popped up in my feed! Big thanks!
RUclips algo does it again. Good Luck and if you need any help lmk
Welcome to Tyria, friend!
Why you don't have many subscribers. Video quality was top notch.
The community appreciates your contribution. Please provide us with your Power Tempest build. Thank you.
Hello , i am new with the elementalist but i already have 6 years in game and i think im ready to this, thanks a lot fot the video, you help me a lot
Back in the days, when the burrow section in ascalon 3 was still hard and stressful, the ice bow 4 was pure gold.
AFKing as an ele was impossible, and I always had to "use the washroom" during that phase xD
I'm also an OG ele main! LET'S GOO! I've played power staff weaver for YEARS now. LMAO.

Tips for returning players, got you
Are there any class or elite specs that resemble the Enhancement Shaman from WoW?
i had to try a few classes before, i level guardian and ranger till 30 them i went to the elementalist and now i'm 60 really cool class, btw i don't think that going in to pvp and having everything unlocked to test is good because you will be overwelmed with information and skills you didn't had the time to experience one by one, play like an hour with the class to see if you like it, i think is way better that way to be slowly introduced

I want to know more about S/W Catalyst, can you upload the build ?
Frost Bow OG... good ol' days for sure
Thank you this is my main Build i love it
For a range only dps would you recommend the tempest elite spec?
Is the weapon usage change available yet. I didn't think it was. Tried it and it did not work. I have SOTO by the way.
og frostbow ele here, farming ac and cof is good memories.
in games i am more damage dealer, so if i would return to it i would be 2staff and fire and earth, most used and then water sometimes for support
Yes to those build guides.

Frostbow in Ascalon Catacombs, baby!
I remember blasting stuff in Ascalonian Catacombs with frostbow... good ol' times
:')
A shame to see ranged weapons like staves are still unviable/unused. :( I hoped they would narrow the gap a bit, but seems everyone still plays elementalist as though it was a warrior.
I'm too stupid to play Elementalist, but I like seeing someone who can play him well. 🤧
Yea the class is not for every1 🙄
Frost bow was my leveling friend years ago.
:')
I used the bow in dungeons all the time way back when. 😬
and fiery greatsword against the wall :')

We exist, we sometimes use it when we are showing new firends the game xD
Frost bow ftw!
Thats the way
"Still best show" you're God damn right! #frostbowgang2023
Forever will be my guy
@@xGuiders I wholeheartedly agree
I tried play ele so many times… its not even hard for me but so frustrating.
I tried playing other classes so many times, and I gotta say, same xDD
@@xGuiders the problem is I really try to love ele 😂😂
Shield not good? Lol noob. Its pvptastic
