- A sweet lil' Paul number for you all. I first heard this tune last month, and my first reaction was, well, that it was a "silly love song". But the infectious groove and the chords grew on me so much that I couldn't get it out of my head. So here we are! EDIT: I made this video before Gordon Lightfoot passed...I hope to do a tribute to him later this month.
Mixed by me with help and input from Josh. Thanks to him for bringing the fun, helping me with the camera, and of course, his engineering expertise!!

“hanging on for dear life” perfectly summarizes my guitar playing as well
Amazing cover, that phase of Paul McCartney with the Wings is simply too good
I was hoping Josh would drop in the harmony part at the end but the bass part is busy and God knows how he remembers all of it live. ❤❤❤ ❤❤
Oh, I definitely am looking forward to the Gordon Lightfoot tribute. He was such an incredible songwriter. He'll always hold a special place in my heart as my parents introduced me to his music.
Groovy as always, Carson!
Is it my imagination or have Carson's guitar skills leveled WAY up over the last year or so? Another fantastic cover by these guys.
Eh, watch the flatpicking medley they did years back. He's been quite good for some time.
He's secretly better than Turner 😁
@@LinasPetrauskas let's not go that far... Josh clearly sold his soul to the devil. Ain't no mortal man that should be able to play like that. xD
I think he just usually keeps his guitar play simple. His picking has been very accurate and clean since the beginning.
IDK but we already know that any Carson and Josh collaboration is going to be good.
Nice cover.I'm trying my hand it too and may try this same key.
I'm getting really into Wings lately and I'm surprised how much the album this song is from (Wings at the Speed of Sound) got critiqued on release. They're not legendary era-defining songs like with The Beatles but man it was still really good stuff. Warm and Beautiful, Wino Junko, The Note You Never Wrote, Beware My Love etc. So many awesome tracks on that album!
Aw, nice!!! Love that you chose this little known Wings gem tucked away on the Wings at the Speed of Sound album. Super job, although I was hoping Josh would jump in with the little bit o' harmony at the end 😟
Hi Diane I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this compliment. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
The Wings deserve way more recognition! Brilliant, brilliant performance as always!
The Wings have the same recognition as The Plastic Ono Band do. I think that both honors were given to John and Paul as you can see that She's My Baby composer were not "The Wings", but Paul McCartney.
Excellent Carson. Thanks.
Great to wake up listening to Carson singing Paul.
Josh banging out some bass lines... NICE
You guys are like gravy!
Thanks for sharing the music
Man, that bass is so sick! Another fantastic rendition from both of you!
It's a shame it's mixed so weirdly, I can hardly hear it on my setup
@@lptomtom Yeah, I would have liked to hear the bass more prominently. I think that's Josh's humility at work :-)
Low volume. Funky
It sounds good in my headphones (beyerdynamic) Might be the setup ?
The bass lacks bass.
More superb bass by Josh (just like Stuck In The Middle)!
What a delight from 1976!!! Loved it then - love it now! Great job!
You are both so cool and so good.
Thank you for this high quality 👌
It is always a great pleasure to hear/see you playing and interpreting so perfectly the songs.
Smooth, sooooo smooth. Great job guys.
Ahh, I love this song! Great job, guys.
"I freaking love Wings." - Quagmire
It made Tony Shalhoub’s career!
Nice one guys! Underrated song
Ha! Like gravy….prob the only song with that word in it! ❤️
Top song. Never heard this before. You two always pull it out the bag
1:37 Pretty sure that's the ONLY time I've seen a finger-picked bass part! Great cover BTW!
damn. you two are like today's simon and garfunkel. like bacon and eggs. like yin and yang. like biscuits and gravy.
ross and rachel.
Excellent Carson and Josh!
Super. I always loved this song. Great cover
Great job! I appreciate the original even more than I did now. Almost forgot this gem.
Magic!
Lovely
Outstanding performance.
thanks for this song, I only discovered it two months ago - although I know Paul McCartney's creation quite well - and the melody is really very infectious. And thanks for the memory of Gordon Lightfoot (in text)
never heard Paul`s version but I don`t need to. this is way good. thanks so much for sharing I appreciate it.
You have to hear wings at the speed of sound album man trust me
@@jerrygarziola Paul sounds soooo different on that song. First time I heard it, I thought Denny Laine or somebody else was singing lead. :D
Paul’s version is so much better. You’re doing yourself a disservice by not listening
Perfect
What a cute song! Never heard it before, thank you for the introduction. Can't wait for the Gordon Lightfoot tribute :)
Like gravy down to the last drop
Mopping it up mopping it up
Carson's voice. Man.
Tennesse Waltz please guys, I wanna cry.
The Boys are back with all the smoothness you could ask for when's the next album
And now its time for some Gordon Lightfoot tributes please. Any one will do. Love all your stuff!
your voice is so smooth and sweet...catches me by surprise every time!
That Martin has a great sound.
Atta Boys!!!!!!!! Good Plucking Josh!!!! Carson you nicely Unplugged with this the other day and You brought the Thunder with Josh bringing the Lightning today .......WELL DONE FELLAS!!!! Paul would be Proud!!!!
Please tour and stop in Michigan again!
This is always been one of my favorite Paul McCartney songs, but I like this as much as the original. Great job guys.
so glad you guys chose this song!
Loved this album track for years despite the silly gravy rhyme! Nice one.
I've been looking forward to this since you mentioned it in that livestream. Silly love song indeed, but it really works for your singing style. This is as excellent an execution as I've come to hope for from you!
Absolutely nothing silly about it!
Absolutely wonderful!
Very good!! Love Paul songs
Fantastic, more of this please! 😊
So easy going, but smart and so sophisticated......Really fine !
Always superb 👌. Flawless and fun to listen to
Omg I love this song!!!
So glad to see u made a cover of it!
They 'play and go together well'' don't you think... great again, as always. B
Aah, I love these "silly love songs" so much! And even though there's no way I would've been able to tell you were struggling if there weren't words on the screen saying that it still feels good to know that a literal professional musician still struggles with the guitar parts sometimes too lol. Love it, great job!
I don't recall this one, either. I'm sure I heard it as I love Paul's solo/non-Beatles stuff. This was tastefully done. Great job.
Shall you come to Japan❗️😃
I’m Japanese.
You are very good singer & guitar man🎉💐
❤❤❤
You owe us Country roads
Thank you Carson.
"Deux garçons dans le vent", a band on the run !
Nice voice
Nice touch on the caption humor. Josh: that bass approach... that technique sounds really cool on a ubass with rubber strings. Yes, theyre a bitch to tune and yes it's worth it.
they stretch and then they stretch more.
Killer, like usual!
You boys sound pretty good when you’re not Rick-rolling us. Well done.
Carson - Yessir. A Gordon Lightfoot tribute would mean so much.
Very nice gentlemen!
I truly am your Baby....
actually, I'm not familiar w/this tune. BUT: so glad I stopped in to listen. Oh my, Never to disappoint: I'll be back to listen again. Thanks for sharing w/us on yt! Now that the snow has melted, I can picture myself in the back yard in a hammock listening to Josh & Carson & having myself some afternoon delight~
This Macca song looks good on you! 👍
Hell yeah
Do Jenny Wren by Paul Mccartney!!
Nice!
Guys, that was wonderful!!! Carson’s voice has a funkier bounce than that of Paul McCartney. Thank you so much!
Too far.
It really doesn’t
❤️✌🏻🎶
Good good)
😉👍
good job guys. on the Gordon Lightfoot song I'm partial to "Ribbon of Darkness" a hit of his that here in the states was a huge hit for Marty Robbins but Gordo's original version is my fav. If you two were to arrange it with a solid 2 part harmony throughout I think you could have something special. jmo.
I always thought this Wings track was a bit sacharine but this version is just charming
Sounds Great ! How about doing a cover with some of your friends of Factory Girl by the Rolling Stones. Really change things up ! Guitar, mandolin and violin. A folk song with a twist! haha
Carson ~ You have a Billy Joel vibe. Try one of his songs next.
YOU "try" one of Billy Joel's. How about just don't give orders. Or go back and listen to all of Carson's stuff and see if maybe he hasn't already covered Billy Joel.
Oh man. You guys are so good. Can't have enough. I released a teaser for my up coming album (My first one as solo artist) and it would mean the world to me to have you take a look at it. We put so much effort into it... Anyhoo. Keep it up guys.
🙌🙌🙌
This is a song that James Taylor could have written. Nice rendition.
Coming out at night...
This song is like a folk version of WAP, lol. Well done, but I have to question what the writer meant with the gravy mopping reference, lol
“Carson hanging on for dear life” 😂.
Geez did James Taylor call you yet?!
This song might as well have been written by the other Paul, the one with the surname Simon. It displays certain idiosyncrasies of the latter's style. Or is it Carsons' singing that leads me to thinking so?
Did you forget the suncream Carson? 😂 Great cover as always
Better than the original recording ? … I think so !
It's not possible to be better than the original, as it's a DIFFERENT song when someone else does it. The original is its own perfection. You can't "improve" on an original. You can copy an original and that COPY can be something better, but there is nothing other than the original that IS the original.
Not even close. Good cover but seriously not even in the same league musically or singing wise

Went to hear the original. Prefer your rendition. Nicely done!
Carson, you sell yourself short.
AI will be able to "replicate" Josh quicker than it will you.
