Carson, please! More of this. Make it a special duo and Carson's Country Corner with Gabe. Bringing these old country standards back to life is special. Please.
good musicians like to play good tunes. genres are a fake construct from the “music industry” designed to sell more records by splitting people up so they can focus their advertising. like Duke Ellington pointed out, “There’s only two kinds of music, good music and bad music.” basically, if you like it, it’s good music. hell with what anyone else says.
Carson - how could George Jones be doing anything other than smiling from above after this performance?! You and Gabe take this one to an entirely different level. Bravo!!
A true musician FEELS the music. Here at the start you see Gabes reaction to the true feeling of music. Like a fine wine, or a smooth whiskey. Beautiful.
Almost broke my fingers getting over here when I saw the title. I love this song! Beautiful job, both of you. This is the kind of country music I grew up with. (Even though this was released nearly a decade before I was born.)
"Live long and prosper" Carson...I enjoy your music every bit as much as I do some of the headliners of the past sixty years! You are excellent and I pray you will be recognized and rewarded accordingly! Hat's off to Gabe as well...his contribution was the "secret sauce" that completed this performance.
I get chills listening to this. When he sings " just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be" The expression on his face is perfect. Actually, his expressive face tells the whole song. Great harmony and beautiful fidle.
Hi Carson, you became my favorite musician in the last years. This violin combo is very beautiful! I've wanted to ask you for some time now, if you do daily voice practice, and if yes what do you do? I noticed that not only your guitar skills evolved, but your voice became much richer too compared to your earliest videos. Thank you for your music! Greetings from Germany :)
I probably should, but I don't do any specific vocal practicing - I've just learned how to control it better with time. Plus, your voice does deepen and often become fuller-sounding as you age some (I'm about 30 now).
@@carsonmckeemusic Carson, you correct. I would only add - you still have a musical gift that allows you to decipher the vocal nuances, and perfect them. It is a gift that you have honored and worked hard to advance!
Very fine indeed! Always look forward to your next song, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. That young feller on the fiddle did some sweet playing.
Sounds great! Only thing I would have liked to hear is that classic country double clutch on the fiddle! Gabe is a very talented player, and a pretty dang good harmony vocalist!
I loved that!!! Gabe, beautiful fiddle playing and your instrument is so pretty with the white trim on the face of it. And of course the vocals were fabulous. Thanks for doing that classic.
Tremendous. I first heard about George Jones from Keith Richards. George was his favorite singer. From Keith to Carson. I was lucky enough to see George in a small theater in Yakima, Washington a few years before he died. And shortly thereafter, Leonard Cohen. You could go through life on George and Leonard songs. Thanks.
Wow as a classic country fan i absolutely loved this! Thank you two for doing this cover. Hopefully many more covers to come. Merle Haggards Sing me back home!
I don’t know how you do it Carson. No matter what genre or style or tempo, you legit kill it every time! Everything you touch is gold my friend, every single time. Not a klinker in the bunch! 😊
Carson: Your recent efforts in the country music genre demonstrate that you GET it. From Hank, to Hag, to Blaze Foley you've been right on the money. How about some Jimmie Rodgers: Waiting for a Train, or Pistol Packin' Papa, Jailhouse Blues, all great stuff.
Carson, please! More of this. Make it a special duo and Carson's Country Corner with Gabe. Bringing these old country standards back to life is special. Please.
It's a pitty that I coudn't click "Thumbs Up" each time I listen to this perfect interpreation of these two terrifc musicians!
Gabe could possibly be one of the best fiddlers on the planet. Holy cow, someone needs to notice this man!
That fiddler! Beautiful counter-melody, AND harmony?! Be still my stringed heart. That was something else.
What fascinates me is how these musicians can pick up a song in any genre and just nail it. So well done, gentlemen.
Great musicians can just do that👍🎶

Country only requires three chords and the truth.
@@jaygatsby1and that's what makes it so great and timeless.
Love it. And Gabe is a great country fiddle player. You have to do 'He stopped loving her today" sometime.
That would be fantastic!
Oh, agree!
I third that.
Yes!
Yes please
I think the Possum would smile knowing that someone still likes the old sounds.

Fantastic fiddle playing by Gabe, he had that thing crying.
Yes, please, more of your friend with the violin! You guys are terrific together! Really!!!
Carson, you and Gabe did a masterful job. The solo and harmony and fiddle were amazing! As good or better than anything on the Grand Ol Opry.
I love it when you and Josh have Gabe do guest spots!
The instrument combo is peak fall vibes. I can just smell the pumpkin pie and the leaves outside when I listen to this. Really great work guys!
Pretty neat! It is SO RARE to hear a violin actually weeping. Lovely vocals, excellent violin break in the midst. Thank you guys.
One of the purest violin sounds I ever heard.
So beautiful and subtle, the violin tenderly mixing with the voice.... And I love it to hear a man sing in his normal low range😍
What a fine rendition of a classic tune. Fiddle is sweet. And purest I've ever heard .
Howdy from Texas, boys. Helluva nice job there. That fiddle was something special.
Gabe is a treasure!
Thank you!
Gabe's smiling face is the best thing ever :D lovely cover guys, great job
A True Country Classic! Always delightful to see Gabe join in!
The harmony is unbelievable. Great job, fellas.
A country classic performed by a classic duo. Bravo.
Almost broke my fingers getting over here when I saw the title. I love this song! Beautiful job, both of you. This is the kind of country music I grew up with. (Even though this was released nearly a decade before I was born.)
Dude can jam on that fiddle!
Carson, the best, top notch as always, and the violinist matches your talent. Beautiful just beautiful.

This was lovely. Carson you have a beautiful voice. Gabe harmonises with it so well. His fiddle playing is so sensitive and melodic.
I get chills listening to this. When he sings " just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be"
The expression on his face is perfect. Actually, his expressive face tells the whole song.
Great harmony and beautiful fidle.
Listening to this treasure once again--it still is wonderfully bittersweet. Carson and Gabe are a great duo.
Thanks Carson and Gabe for the great song.
Carson and Gabe deliver a classic that is burnished in bittersweet gold. Great choice, great performance. Thank you.
🎼Wow, beautiful!! And those harmonies!!!🎶
You take an old song, add a violin and great harmonies and bring me to tears. Every time. You have something special inside Carson keep it up. ❤
It doesn’t get any better than that! Great stuff guys, I really enjoyed this one!
You did it again Carson I love how you show so much respect to the song you are a Gent and a scholar much love from the UK.
Uh uh uh
..WOW... holy shit ... that fiddle hit me in my feels ❤❤❤❤
Love the country fiddle and harmonies!
So so good. This and He Stopped Loving Her Today (hint, hint) are my two favorite country guy songs.
I'm running late to get out the door for the office.....then Carson drops a new song! Damnit I'm going to be late.
Well done, Carson and Gabe.
I love the feeling you put into your singing and violin playing.🥰
Gabe you are doing a great job keep it up.
More Gabe in future. Beautiful, guys.
Carson and Gabe............NAILED IT!!!!!!! SO GOOD FELLAS!!!!!!!
Mighty fine a-strummin' and a-fiddlin'!!! I was hoping for at least one "Of-nah" (Bob Wills)
Great job guys! Excellent rendition of a classic. Appreciate you so much!!
great fiddle, guitar and voices.
LOVE the sentimental fiddle!!!
That crying fiddle!!!
This is so good it hurts.
Yes sir yes sir you knocked another one out of the park! Big balls in cowtown to bring Sir George back to life!
This is just *lovely* - elemental (just the guitar and violin and vocals) and intense!
This is really nice. I'm in NYC, and country music is pretty unpopular here, but I like it just fine.
Reminds me of evenings at my uncle's farm when the family would gather with instruments and sing all country.
