I'm 63 years old and this song had special meaning to me in my youth. You do a good job I've been following you and Josh and your singing has really come along my son with no coaxing of mine has taken to your music as well he's 19
When I first heard Danny O'Keefe playing this song over the radio back in 1972 it immediately became one of my all time favorites. You nailed it Carson. Well done!
The moustache suites you! This song came on during my last semester at college in Granville, Ohio. I was homesteading and considering a career in music and it hit a spot I can't put a word to.
The best rendition of one of my favorite songs. Smooth guitar playing even with those difficult breaks, an emotive voice without over selling the lyrics . Pure and beautiful. Danny Okeefe would be proud.
Amazing. I have no idea how many views this video has, but I can honestly say that over 50 of them are me. I have been playing semi professionally for decades and your covers always leave me speechless. Your love for the music shines through in everything you play. Thank you.
I'm in Germany for 2 weeks and haven't listened to your songs for a week. I realize now that you make me feel home. Thank you for doing what you're doing.
This song takes me back to October 17, 1972. The Oakland A's were in their first World Series since moving West. Owned by Charlie O'Finley the game that was scheduled was Rained out, but being before the internet I did not know it. I kept checking the radio for the Broadcast and they kept playing this song....over and over. The Charlie that had the blues was the team owner I guess. Anyways....this is a great rendition of a song that takes me back to that day each time I hear it.----Ain't it funny how a melody can bring back a memory
I never used to listen to covers of songs I don't know, but ever since I started listening to Carson, I've made an exception. Love the stache, by the way
Since I was a kid, I always thought this was the saddest song. If Good Time Charlie was down, it just felt like there was no hope for the rest of us. Great cover.
I want to describe my feelings during this song. I find myself closing my eyes - just enjoying this wonderful moment with harmony in life in everything. All things has a rush these days - but everything can wait - i am busy listening to something more important
Not only are you an outstanding musician and vocalist but you have excellent musical taste and are introducing me to so many great songs. Keep going, you have star quality without a doubt.
You are phenomenal Carson. I have enjoyed this tune since fretkillr himself light up this song. Shut up and play Andy just made a tutorial but you got there first and you vocal is world class . You nailed it so well man
Please do more Danny O'Keefe songs! He has such a beautiful songwriting style and a wonderful catalog to take a dive into. I love your originals, too (and the mustache!). I usually don't get excited about cover songs, but you and Josh are the shining exceptions. You never fail to bring it on home! Much love to both of you (and all your seriously talented friends) from Tacoma, Washington.
wow this was absolutely incredible! very beautiful. a lot of these channels have young players singing incredibly cliched songs. this was so refreshing!
Carson, your voice sends shivers down my spine. The notes you hit in this rendition remind me of the Elvis' cover of this beautiful song. I really appreciate it.
Holy crap. I was always neutral about this song back when it was first on the radio. I might have recognized that the melody was nice. But this clean, spare version is stunning. Great job, Carson.
I've always loved this song. Just goes to show that you and Josh don't mind going way back to find the really good ones to cover. The last surprise was Third Rate Romance, and now Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues! Excellent. And you did such a good job with the guitar. Made it look easy, which it certainly is NOT.

One of the best renditions I've ever heard of this classic song. We have all been there. And the sound of that guitar is incredible.
Killer song, killer cover, killer stache!
This is the bluest version of this song I've ever heard. Really hits home - Absolutely love it.
That was absolutely gorgeous dude! Guitar and performance. Super powerful lyrics.
Thanks, man, great to hear from you!!
Beautiful. timing is perfect
When I first heard Danny O'Keefe playing this song over the radio back in 1972 it immediately became one of my all time favorites. You nailed it Carson. Well done!
"You play to long you lose your life" That's seriously sobering. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful, sad song.
The moustache suites you! This song came on during my last semester at college in Granville, Ohio. I was homesteading and considering a career in music and it hit a spot I can't put a word to.

I agree
Yes, did really good. One of my favorites also.
Agreed 👍
I can't express how much joy this brings me. This is a treasure
That song is perfect for your vocals, Carson. Smooth, clean and well done. Just like good Kentucky Bourbon or well aged Tennessee Whisky. Great job!
What a sound! The voice, the guitar, the whole feel. You never disappoint, Carson.
and THE STASH
This really suits your voice and style, Carson. Good diction and clear vocals. Perfectly soulful, to coin a phrase!
Big love from the lone star state👍

IF I HAD TO CHOOSE A TOP TEN VOICE. CARSON YOU WOULD BE ONE OF THEM.
Even with just an acoustic guitar, the performance is priceless..
As usual Carson, you out did the original and made the song your own. Really well done my friend! 😊
Without a doubt!
Having seen Danny sing this song more times than I can count, I'd have to say Carson didn't outdo the original, but he certainly did it justice.
Thank you and your mates for a fantastic consert in Gothenburg this Friday.
I've been listening to this at least once a day for the past 6 months, thank you Carson!
This should hit the country charts.

Love the stache, by the way
Thank you! And yeah, we're tryin' on the stache 😂
You and Josh have been going through quite the melancholy mood lately. Let’s get some Rock’n Roll back! Beautiful as usual.
This young fellow has soul.
Since I was a kid, I always thought this was the saddest song. If Good Time Charlie was down, it just felt like there was no hope for the rest of us. Great cover.

Beautiful. Thank you friend felt good. In life you can count on love but the price is pain. Darn it.

You are phenomenal Carson. I have enjoyed this tune since fretkillr himself light up this song. Shut up and play Andy just made a tutorial but you got there first and you vocal is world class . You nailed it so well man
