Fantastic rendition. Great vocals and an all-star band. What more can one ask for?
I just adore this song and this performance...can't stop watching! What a voice Teddy has...amazing. ❤
This song should be played for all folks who say they don't like country music. If, after hearing this, they still can't relate, then there's truly no hope for them.
They're all tone deft.Its just fantastic 👏
How do the ladies accompanying him, like the song I wonder. After all the song has moments of male chauvinism.
I've never been a country fan, but this deceptively simple song makes me almost weep.
I can only presume the Sarcasm of Country Music ( and a classic like this ) is completely lost on you ...
" She thinks I still care .." well if ya listen carefully to what he is saying ..
It's obvious to most people , with a brain and some intuition , that he obviously does care .., it says so in the words ... Clown ..!!@@jamesdolan4042
I just can’t stop listening to this! ❤
Danny Thompson on double bass, one of the best.
Simply beautiful. A first class tearjerker. Teddy is doing a great job on this classic. All musicians are cream of the crop. Thank You BBC. By making all the Transatlantic Recordings possible, You created a lasting legacy. A true ode to Folk- and country music.
Couldn't agree more!
The main reason I gave this performance a 👍 is because RUclips doesn't allow me to award more than one.
Country classic…..great version…..
And I thought no singer could touch George Jone's original! !!. Teddy's version is just sublime....and how about that line-up of 'backing singers' and musicians! wow!
Pj Curtis brilliant 🏴
I'M WITH YOU !
🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Teddy Thompson is an incredible talent. Wow!
Up Front & Down Low is brilliant
“Wiping my eyes … perfect song , perfect lyrics , perfect musician and backup singers “
My god what a voice?! Real country ❤
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. This performance is absolute perfection.
good song but depressing. like a lot of love songs but the other way around... "I really don't care; isn't sad that she thinks I should?" too many people who really are like that.
@@judithgips2959 You completely missed the irony of the lyrics...He obviously cares passionately.
@@perceptionisall “Judith”s abound, doctor. Would that they did not.
@@judithgips2959well said Judith, exactly my thoughts. How are you doing!
The best version ever ❤ Perfect in every way .Backing singers .Band .Just fantastic. How we don't hear more of these greats here in Ireland .I'll never understand .
The entire album is fantastic
@@indierockyhockey what a voice
Pure bliss
Many people have sung this song....and sung it beautifully. But this version by Tedddy is OMG surreal !! Go Teddy !!! phew !
🤯
And the "backup" ain't half bad neither !! (to put it Mildly !!! OMG) and that steel guitar !! They're killin' me !! lo
I love Teddy’s rendition, but I think the ultimate version is by George Jones.
@@liztracy4605 well of Course !!
Lovely and an all star line up, so good, Teddy sounding magical.
es
His voice was meant for twang
Me too. Can't figure out why 100k plus people haven't listened to this guy on his own , especially with the back up talent,
Well the apple didn't fall far from the tree... not only his dad's great songwriting abilities and musicianship.... the lucky sod also got his mum's wonderful voice too
Bravo❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love Teddy's voice
Truly one of the finest versions of this amazing classic!
A voice as pure as a finely-tuned violin. wow.
Holy shit what a backing band, I'd be happy just being in the room breathing the same air, great vocal as well.
Purrrfection. Not a bad bunch of backup singers, what's not to love.
This is just too beautiful!! I heard him at the end of a movie singing ' In My Arms'... Now I'm hooked..
Me too-love love his voice- In my Arms got me totally hooked and mow this song I cannot get enough of
Teddy sings those old lived in songs .Good old songs that will always be good songs ,this guy doesn't forget his roots .great version of a great song .
This guy can sing. Heck of a good recording too.
Coolabulla this is Incredible. ..
Greetings from Dublin Ireland brothers and sisters. ...
Wow. Great version. Love it.
This currently has 34,158 views. I think I've made up 34,000 of them. Just can't get enough of this. Perfect!
Just watching this you know that every person in that room is feeling it, if Jesus had been a musician, that's his apostles right there.
Teddy has the sweetest of voices. Beautiful version. The backing band ar'nt bad either!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL rendering of this CLASSIC George Jones hit. Great job!
Just perfect, hes in great company there. I remember this edition of Trans Atlantic Sessions. Love his voice. Love him singing with his dad too
The best edition I have ever heard.

Beautiful!
George would be proud.
Beautiful blending of voices.
One of the best!
Beautiful voice. Why isn’t he famous.?
www.durhamcool.com/teddy-thompson-a-voice-worthy-of-your-attention/
He is.
Brilliant vocalist
Teddy has an amazing voice, but always has given off the vibe to me that he’s not 100% in like his Dad always is. Maybe in time he will outgrow his hesitation and realize how great his voice and songwriting truly are. Even with covers, what a talent.
You should give a listen to his version of "Just Someone I Used to Know". A duet featuring another offspring of folk-rock royalty, Jenni Muldaur(Maria and Geoff).
Richard is famously intense, but I don't think you can expect Teddy to be copying his style.
Every time I think that I can sing s little I listen to Teddy and think damn your perfect pitch. He he I love ya teddy when I heard heartbreaker please and then brand new. You had me ok beautiful voice and beautiful man no doubt
Simply beautiful...♪♫
Teddy is amazing! I love George and he's the original, but this version is even better! Tears...and I'm not a crier!
It was one of George's songs I never had on a Playlist until Teddy with the guys and gals put this out.. Now its only version I listen to
Well said CRry 😮, exactly my thoughts. How are you doing!
Great , just great
Absolutely the most beautiful iv e ever heard
Awesome job man no one's things like George Jones man you you hit that on a button
Yep,he nailed it.

This is just wonderful.
This is just class.
Beautiful in every way.
Well said my friend, my thoughts as well smile😊. How are you doing!
REALY GREAT 🎤🎸🔊🔊🔊

1. He blatantly still cares :) 2. What backing :)
Tremendous!!!
Time for a new comment on how great this is!!! lol
Always come back to this 🙌🙌
So smooth.......
Just pure as can be.
There is class and then there's a level above....
Best cover I’ve ever heard
Sublime
Well sung classic.
George Jones would have approved no doubt. Wonderful backing.
Jacquline Martins, I think he was still alive when teddy covered this on down low. I'm sure George loved it.
Well said Jacqueline, my exact thoughts. How are you doing !
Perfect!
Nice version of the classic.
Incredible.
Goosebumps!
How come there's not a million wievers

Out of the 37,022 viewings I think I must 37,000 have been me! Perfection!
Ha! I was just thinking I could listen to this 100 times straight! And then I saw your post~~yes, this song is the most beautiful, ever~~So, 37,000? I understand~
That ain't what I said Boost Mobile I said no one sings like George Jones but he hit it on the button
On the strength of this video I bought a couple of Teddy Thompson CDs which were disappointing. I think his forte is covering classic songs. I'd love to hear an album of his versions of old familiar songs. Lovely voice.
My favourite album of his is A Piece of What You Need. Pretty much prefect pop-rock record imho. Separate Ways also has many killer original songs.
"Up Front and Down Low" is his album of classic country covers. This song is on there. It's a perfect album from beginning to end.
Listen to Little Windows. Great album, blend of Buddy and the Everly Brothers.
un sogno !!!
This is a bit slower than other versions. Enables the vocalist to really shine, no small feat considering who this song is associated with ( George, Elvis, John Fogerty to name 3).
Wish I could get a hold of a recording of these songs...
This song is on Teddy's album "Up Front and Down Low". It's an amazing album of classic country songs, and how I first discovered him. Check it out!
You might bring up the general category of TRANSATLANTIC SESSIONS....Seems one time there was a CD(S) available....amazon, and other outlets....?
@@dfmontgomery91 still is.

Why bother with a limited heading that excludes 75% of the artists performing.
RUclips wouldn't let me add all the names the Heading.... ... limited characters
@@SalmonierSessions I am a bit late, but I understand. Thanks for your response and the clarification.
