Cécile creates such a haunting atmosphere here. She completely understands this song.
I usually approach Kate covers with such trepidation but this is so amazing. I know Kate has said that when she sang this she really was trying to embody Catherine Earnshaw as a ghost, and Cecile has just ramped this up. It’s so evocative. She has really emphasised how good Kate is at song craft. 10 out of 10.
love the way that the bass cuts in
The first part before the backing tracks moves in is so haunting. So mystical. Like someone could obtain a recording of Catherine's ghost just casually singing this while roaming around. Brilliant idea and perfect sound engineering to give this effect.
Yes you are so right. You can really picture Catherine’s ghost as you listen.
When we studied Wuthering Heights in high school I became totally immersed in that world, drawing portraits of each character.
In my mid-20s I got a chance to go and see the ruin on the heath, a couple of miles from the Bronte parsonage, which was the inspiration for Wuthering Heights’ setting.
Listening to Cecile’s haunting version of this song, takes me right back there, and into the pages of this unforgettable novel.
Chilling and amazing hommage à Kate Bush. Especially this soulful yet ultra reduced minimal presence of the voice. I just discovered cecile and she must be in the same pure musicians musician realm of arooj aftab, enya, björk and - of course kate bush. 💜💜💜
That melody will haunt me forever.... it takes me sowehere else into another time....
Goosebumps all over my body from her beautiful haunting voice. Love the sparse production that eventually amps up, such a tone setter for the rest of the album!
What an album it is too. It loops doesn’t it …last track joins the first track (this one).
Such a unique take on one of my favorite songs of all time. Covering Kate Bush is no easy feat.
Terribly difficult, I'd say.
Am I the only one who hears echoes of Joni Mitchell's Blue in her interpretation?
So beautiful and new. Your voice is meeting your heart and mind in a special way!
As a KB fan, singing the song in a church with its hunting echoes Cécile has taken the song to a whole new level.
Amazing version. Very brave to tackle such a song.
It’s the first track on Cecile’s new album and sets the tone.
It’s a stunning album!!
beautiful interpretation!! before the bass kicks in it's just this incredible haunting call... with the bass it turns into something calmer, maybe even nostalgic, like remembering a nice memory; but it ends, abrupt and melancholic, leaving you unsteady.. this is the only cover of kate (that i know of!) that has done her real justice and made me feel the same way i did when i first heard this masterpiece ❤️❤️
Greatest song of all time 🎉
The comfort of this song is irreplaceable
Absolutely gorgeous but I wouldn’t call it comforting. I get cold chills.

💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
bello !
😮😮😮😮😮
I'm always creeped out trying to imagine if an 80 year old Kate Bush sang this and it would still have the perfect tone. At that point it will be like a gathering for witches. Hope they serve sushi.
OBRIGADA CECILE
Cool
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion let me in your window.
This album cover reminds me of work by Helen Bitar… wondering if there’s any connection
Lord Lord Lordie Lord
It's not about Kate Bush, it's about Mt Meru, the magnetic mountain, all compasses point North to the magnetic rock mountain. Black rock. Cathy is the Cathode, the sun who has gone cold. The Catholic Church worship the sun. The sun needs to be warned or charged up. I mean l could be wrong. Lol
Huh? What on earth are you talking about. Haven’t you heard of the classic novel weathering Heights?
@@clairecarscallen They are archetypes. People today don't know how our realm works. There is hidden occultuc knowledge that we are not taught. The book is about people but they represent something else. Like certain God's represent something. Example Venus represents beauty, pleasure, love, Mars represents anger, wars, Jupiter represents expansion. communication.
More woke garbage ruining an original classic.
😂😂 clown
What do you describe as "woke" here ?
