The Saitiev brother’s integration of Judo trips and throws in wrestling is still the best I’ve ever seen to date. Especially Adam Saitiev, what he did to Yoel Romero at the Olympics was insane.
The Soviet system to grappling had judokas, samboists and wrestlers training in the same hall. They learned from one another and integrating different methods to their repertoire. You can see this with Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Meanwhile, Americans are too close minded and pride on wrestling only. This is why Dagestan fighters are taking over in Olympic combative sports and the UFC. BTW Saitiev is from Dagestan.
The main reason that dagestani are doing good in the UFC is the fact that they are doped from childhood and it is mandatory and state controlled system.
@JoriMikke78 in terms of their technical perspective, the Dagestan training methodology is superior. Superior in the sense that they have dominant positioning compared to Americans. They formed a hybrid grappling style that includes wrestling, judo and Sambo. They are also more disciplined then Americans
@@moefinesse9878 That is just bullshit - most champs are in fact american. Wrestling is the best background for MMA but that will change and most future champs are going to be ones that have started with MMA. Not by anything else. And people do cross train elsewhere too.
@JoriMikke78 ufc is an American company and most of the roster has been Americans second by Brazilians, khabib was the second dagestani to join the ufc.

Caucasian see judo as a wrestling style which is true.

I love these videos about integrating wrestling and Judo. Another athlete to look into would be Max Schneider, a judoka and wrestler.
