- The future of Ween is currently up in the air, but the duo's past as an eclectic and uncannily original band is well established and they've been featured on Dr. Demento on numerous shows. That said, a cameo in the 1994 box-office bomb 'It's Pat' -- based on the quirky 'Saturday Night Live' skit of the same name -- isn't exactly something most bands would place too high on their bios.
But since Ween aren't like most bands, their well-developed sense of humor comes across perfectly in their cameo, in which they perform their song 'Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese.'

Not only is Ween being in an SNL movie really strange (especially since they're playing a song from The Pod), but the audio delay makes this legit surreal.

realistic answer: they shot this in 1993 (movies often take a year between shooting and release - and since It's Pat was released in the summer of 1994, they more than likely shot this summer '93), before Claude joined the live band full-time for the Chocolate and Cheese tour (though he was on the '92 Peel session). he occasionally guested, but they often bounced back and forth between their local friends, the DAT machine, and Kramer. what we're seeing is a transitory lineup for Ween - before "Push Th' Little Daisies" became a hit on alternative radio, but around the time Pure Guava was starting to really take off.

The tuba is a sadly overlooked instrument and ween is a sadly overlooked band. I really like this song.

One of the best bands I've seen live. So fun and spontaneous. They also party with the plebes afterwards.
Not so much anymore now that Gener is ridin the sobriety express, or so ive heard because I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them live yet
The strangest part for me is how normal Gene and Dean seem here. They're so serious and down to earth, I guess to better contrast against Pat's awkwardness. But it doesn't feel right.

About the same timeline for me too. Not in this clip, but "Don't get 2 close (2 my fantasy)" is still one of my super favorite songs that I discovered in this movie.

The fact that Ween's big film appearance was in one of the worst movies of all time, really kinda feels like the most Ween thing possible. And in a weird way I respect them more for it, even though I have absolutely no respect for the movie itself.

My first exposure to ween was in this movie. Back when I was 8 yrs old.
Mine too, although I think I was 11 or 12. I was a latchkey kid and after school I would watch bad movies and SNL/KITH reruns on Comedy Central instead of doing homework. I was drawn to how cool and humble Gene and Dean acted, the greatness of the songs and how polite they were to Pat compared to other characters in the movie/skits.
