You may think you're taking longer than you think it should but it's not like you're going to the store and buying lumber and coming back and building something, you have to create your own lumber yard! You're doing an amazing job!!
please use both hands on the circular saw! this tool has enough power to jump onto your chest within a second just because of the wrong cutting angle. cheers from germany, keep the good stuff coming!
It’s so much work doing all the felling, milling, and framing with multiple people. Doing it mostly solo is a whole other challenge all in itself! I’m very grateful you’ve been letting us all tag along, keep up the good work!! God bless!
You might think of using your four RUNNER in lifting. Your wall creativity lift , run another block to the floor out the door and TO the wheeler. THIS would help you greatly and be easier on you. Great job. GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU SAFE
We really love the look of the cabin; the thicker boards definitely look better we agree. Thanks for sharing again, love the journey. Have a great week, stay safe.
Time crunch for winter is real. That being said, you only have one body, and rest is critical. Unexpected injuries can be a major setback. Looking good, take care!
Your cabin is going to look so cool, I can tell by the wood plank flooring you put up, the ceilings from them looking up is so unique rather than neck to neck! Loving it!🌠
Physical labor helps work off a lot of anger. It was good for me when my husband died suddenly at 44 years of age. Cleaning out our basement was a mega chore and let off a bunch of my anger.
*Kia ora (hello) Wow, you are doing really great, especially all by yourself. 🙂 Good on you for asking the neighbour to help you lift up that one huge log tho. 🙂As it is all about safety when you just need that extra hand re heavy lifting etc. 🙂 Kia kaha (stay strong) and keep on being well and being safe out there by yourself. 🙂NZ*
Nice job!. A little rough the flooring, considering it will shrink when the wood is dried out, but as you say, you can always put plywood or other flooring on top. You go girl. Cant wait until you get a roof on it! So exciting to see your progress.
You have quite the vision there. You are doing good. Keep your strength, spiritual and physical. The destination is the journey. Savor every moment as it beats you to death.
yep, good idea on the plywood over the loft floors....that stuff is not heavy enuff for floors....we used to always use 2" , (actually 1 1/2 "... but we used Douglas Fir which is stronger than spruce), and adding the plywood, (I'd use 5/8" ), will finish it off nicely upstairs....GREAT JOB Kiddo !........OnWard..........
Lots of hard work. Great job! 🎉 I was at first concerned about the give that I was seeing in your loft. But I see that you have addressed that with the rest of your video. I'm happy to hear that you're going to be adding plywood to increase the structural strength. Now there's a massive push to get your roof on before winter, hey? Maybe some neighbors could come help? There is so much on your plate with having to fell trees & make your own lumber first. 💝
Your new home is coming along just nice, have to say you are doing an amazing job on it and it will look fantastic, keep up the good work and thank you for sharing.
When you make your stairs, consider putting hinges on the upper end and maybe making a pulley system. Then you can get stairs out of the way, so you don't lose floor space on your lower level. Keep it up, you're doing fine.
Good morning. The cabin is coming a long nicely. And you have done a lot since the last video me and Liam watched. And your a pro now at dropping the trees. I really like how you are utilizing the block and tackle system. Great job and keep up the great work 💪👍. And have a blessed weekend .
I think your amazing your a true inspiration to a 52 year old divorced Dad of 3. ,31 ,33,35 im blessed with beautiful daughters ,looking at retirement possibly to Alaska keep being awesome!!!❤
looks great, don't get to hard on yourself. now.... if I can just " suggest " to you, place blockers between the rafter beams. this will tighten up the floor underneath and keep it from sagging in the future. great job!
😊 Sweden say hello again. I was out cutting, splitting and stacking firewood all day , so i saw the video when i come in for the day, but i am really impressed by your build, cant wait to see what it will look like when its dried in. Keep up the good work 😊
I really like the look but I think it's a good idea to put plywood on the top it will add a nice look on top of your rustic board and stabilize the lofts.
You are doing an excellent job, your work looks great and you will be one buff lady when your done. We SOURDOUGH ALASKANS say, do it your way. I think you should try out at the women's outdoor challenge in Talkeetna. For light reflection i would paint the plywood on the underside a light color so once the wood which i assume you are staining will really pop and the light background will show it better .........just a thought . I have seen the backs painted black and as well as a white and honestly the white looked amazing
Baby girl your doing a great job, maybe get started on the roof to protect the rest of the inside of your cabin. It looks like it rains alot their in Alaska. I live in Arizona we hardly get any rain. I have to pray for it here LOL!!
It is heartbreaking that you lost your partner at such a young age. You are doing an outstanding job building your cabin. A beautiful lady like yourself needs a burley guy to help with the heavy lifting. Not that you aren’t doing it yourself, but a partner would speed things up to allow the structure to be completed enough for winter weather and allow time to gather stove wood and supplies needed to survive in the cold. Wishing you the very best.
First and foremost is that I want to say I am sorry for the loss of your husband. With that said I just want to let you know how proud I am of you carrying on with your life the way you are and wanting too. The cabin is looking awesome, and I like the live edge on the floor beams. Not too struck on the floorboards with such a large gap between them because of the live edge on them. I would be worried about twisting an ankle if my foot got caught in one the grooves between the boards. I like the idea of putting plywood down to cover up those gaps. The only other thing I would like to comment on, is for you to be safe while building your cabin. I noticed that while you were using the sawmill, some of the slab boards laying on the ground next to the area where you walk with the sawmill head actually slipped on you when you walked on them. I would for safety reasons make sure that the area you walk is free from any hazards that could cause you to slip and fall and hurt an ankle, your back, or even hitting your head on the sawmill rails. A clean work site is a safe work site. Just want you to be safe so that you and us, can all see the finished cabin of your dreams. Take care and stay safe out there. Tom from Nova Scotia, Canada.
I like what you are doing. I hope that you can get a roof on before winter. Your camera pan shots make me dizzy. Slow down when you pan. I know that doing the filming slows your progress, but longer videos would be appreciated. Stay safe.
Just keep the camera rollin'..... it's fun watching you work. I'm sure it's not as fun on your end...and you're needing to get things done before the weather sets in......however, you'll get there.
lot more wokr to cut another set of 1X's but you could double up and lay them at 45 to layer of board you have now for an interesting look and add a bunch of strength as well

The only part of a construction schedule that always remains true to planning..... is lunch. 🤪

Great job.

Great job, Jack, RI, USA
We really love the look of the cabin; the thicker boards definitely look better we agree. Thanks for sharing again, love the journey. Have a great week, stay safe.
You can always double up the floor boards which will give it more strength.
Your felling technique gets better with each video. Keep at it. It's amazing to watch you go!
I've never seen bark being shaved off a tree before - so cool!!

You would appreciate the ceiling fan.
So the joices are a little far apart? You're smart, you will figure things out! 👏☺️✌️🐾🐾👋🌻🌻🌻🇱🇷
👍🏴
Hi. Hope your well? You’re doing a great job. Just thought you may like to know that floor joists are normally 16 or 18 on centre.
Are you on TikTok? Would love to see more!
If you put in a hip roof instead of an a frame you'll have more room in your lofts
is there going to have a pitch for your roof do you have to duck to get from one side to the other just asking, it all looks good to me
lot more wokr to cut another set of 1X's but you could double up and lay them at 45 to layer of board you have now for an interesting look and add a bunch of strength as well
❤❤❤
Your not wicked ❤❤
04:03 - you need to slap it while you say that :)))
What kind and model of mill do you have Ma’am?
