history. sweet history. when one considers that this was their "signature" song at the time, it's kind of sad that this snippit seems to be the only existing version of them performing it live. truly the holy banshee grail.
that took balls!! Good for her...heard she just was put on stage and was improvising...England was going thru some hard times then with their economy so some people got creative and decided to take up singing, dancing, sewing etc... to pass the time and by hapinstance made $$$$ and history!!
Although i never liked the song, i have huge admiration for the sole fact that it was based on pure improvisation and might have been a landmark for several other songs to follow under the same circumstances - Voodoo Dolly is one that also comes to my mind.
I totally agree... It's not a great song, but it works as an experimental piece that might help them come up with things like Voodoo Dolly, Blow The House Down... The Rapture, maybe?!
On the "Join Hands" album this song is 14 minutes long, the longest ever Banshee number. Apparently that's what the walkout by Kenny Morris and John McKay was over.
sorry, just finding this now in 2023. Nina Hagens version is way better. who did it first? honest question, not throwing shade. im too drunk to search it.

@7OLGA7 Also, despite "bad quality", the energy of Sioux and the band can be felt!
Just happy it's here. Cheers.
Brilliant, Brilliant, Bloody Brilliant !
if only there was a recording of the 14 min version.....swoon
"Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return." Galatians 6:7

Long Live Siouxsie Siou.
My favourite track from "punk" period of SATB!
This is where Cliff Richard got his REAL inspiration from for his 'Millennium Prayer'.
im torn between this and love in a void

Truth of live perf, but for this one the studio recording was absolute perfection of the deep side of thongs of that time, and truly still today!
