- Johnny Cash made me sing this song really. I never been great fan of Depeche Mode, in fact I used to hate it, and still wouldn't listen to it.
But Cash made it pure in his version. Gave it credit. I know I haven't lived as much as Cash maybe my cover sounds a bit less convincing, but really love this song and also great words.
I also used to think for some reason that this song is blasphomous, because I didn't check the lyrics. It is actually very spiritual.
Also not the easiest song to syncronize guitar and singing...even I don't get it perfect after a lot of practice

I admire his confidence but if your dream is to be a vocalist, then I recommend going back to bed.
You've got massive talent but you're chasing the wrong dream and yet this is my opinion, it is also a fact that the majority of society won't tell you incase they hurt your feelings.

well bro, it's a low budget rehearsal if that is any consolation. At the time of recording it was my max. Sure after watching it some time later I also thought it could be much much better. But it was a one take no repeat recording sesh for dozens of songs in one go and took me a few months to save up the money for it. 'Geek' in the back is a superb technician and an accomplished rock guitarist who hated to be in the back lol but for my request he stayed so we give this thing a little more studio look. The trick didn't work on ya...sorry to hear that :) BUT I really appreciate your constructive comment. At least I know what people think. That's what this is all about. Ta

I am an 3 chord strummer who works 12 to 14 hour days 5 1/2 days a week and I am sure I couild put more 'Soul' into that performance. YOU can do a lot better! Go for it man!
