    Although the little Versa is only a small 122hp (no doubt crank power) mine is such a joy to drive. I bought mine new in 2020 I currently have a little over 44k miles, and I STILL love driving it. I do have to admit, it does NOT like "speed shifts" I had a 2006 Sentra also bought brand new, THAT didn't mind speed shifts at all. The 20 Versa is really a fun little car to drive and is NOT hard to drive with the manual which I have.

    • @slowspecv69
      @slowspecv69 5 месяцев назад

      I know the new gen sentra also has the crazy rev hang (the rpm not dropping very quickly), it’s emissions reasons so I assume that’s what’s happening in the new versas as well.

      That’s what I’d wish they’d do. My mom has a 2018 SV and the CVT then was mostly dreadful to deal with in spirited driving of any nature. I would’ve much preferred basic CVT behavior rather than this new era of “simulated shifting” with almost every car equipped with one. The third gen seems better in terms of CVT performance, but not entirely remedied.
      Handling actually felt strangely confident when pushed hard, but was otherwise not very noteworthy in casual driving other than the small artificial weight to the wheel.
      Just calm commuting was it’s strong suit; it could maintain sub-2000 rpm on the backroads if driven gently. Glad to see the success of the new generation Versa, but I wish Nissan would manufacture a manual transmission version for every trim…and add a sunroof. That would be the most well rounded subcompact one could buy today imo.

      @Dantastic123 3 месяца назад

      @@DMCarReviews yes that's exactly verbatim what I said. The car will fall apart into pieces while releasing the clutch at 3k rpm.... Or maybe, it puts a ton of wear and tear on drivetrain components for the person who actually buys it. It sounded like maybe you just weren't very good at driving manual, and you blamed the car. "It's hard to launch", and chirping the tires at 3k rpm during every takeoff.

    I just looked at a 2023 with the new ugly front end and sadly the rear seats on the base model still don't fold down.
    I also lately test drove a 2020 model with the CVT and I have to say it was surprisingly zippy around town. One will have no problem passing slower traffic in the city and the car will go faster then most people drive so power is adequate. Just don't race anyone, at least not for money.

      @@irongoose3865 The launching is rough, but he is not going to do that all the time. It's only a demo. As for the high rpm shifting, you have to give it full throttle and shift at high revs...or this car will take a year to reach 60 mph. The torque on these engines does not peak until 4,400 rpm, where even there it's only 114 ft-lbs. People used to driving higher-powered vehicles will often press deeper onto the accelerator only to find out it's already floored.
