    I think some people judge a car by it's brand or value or size, but if you're able to look past that is where you find real value.

    No matter how much you preach to most buyers about not overspending, they will turn around and buy a giant uber-expensive vehicle they don't need.

    I recently got my 2024. It brings back so much of the memories of back in the day when I had a 1994 Sentra XE. Even though it wasn't the SE-R, I loved driving that thing so much and love the Versa just the same. The shifter feels a lot like that car. The 38 mpg is a huge plus now that gas prices are up. The best things about a car like this that it doesn't pretend to be what it's not and there are very few complex features that will cost a lot when they break. The only feature I really wish it had is the drop down seat, even one that wasn't 60/40 would have added so much value.

    I currently drive a 2019 Prius which I love but I’m starting my college program this fall (a little late in life) and need to reduce my car payment by a lot. I’ve been only searching for very old Corollas or Yaris’ and it’s almost impossible but I just realized I could get one of these for a super good price plus warranty.

    Definitely a good deal and what more people should be buying. That being said, I think I'm more used to nicer and more fun cars and I'm actually into cars. It'd be hard to get back into an econobox with not much going for it, but the price is kind of insane for a new car.

    The only thing i dont like about my 2024 versa s compared to my 2005 toyota i traded in, is that I feel like the car is sensitive to wind and drafts from other cars. I also got thrown around by water in the road. My old car used to do that too even despite being AWD, but i feel like the steering is also a lot more sensitive compared to it, so i tend to wayyyy overcorrect and jerk the car a little or sway it. But I figure ill get used to it eventually.

    • @5675492
      @5675492 4 месяца назад +3

      The Versa is a low weight sub-compact car so that's just physics and no fault of the design of the car imo , and the steering feels lighter than it actually really is . But this also makes it a dream in parking lots lol .

    • @izaicslinux6961
      @izaicslinux6961 4 месяца назад

      @@5675492Yeah I mean that's the thing is the computer controlled electric power steering just doesn't give the same road feedback as my old car with hydraulics did. I used to be able to feel where the wheels were pointed but with this car I have to guess based on steering wheel position. Makes it really easy to oversteer or understeer if you're not paying attention to the steering wheel position.

    You’re much more of a car person and I’m wondering your opinion on the Japanese vs French influences on this car. My understanding of French cars is that they could be similarly unreliable as a British car . The French can have quirky controls but seem to stress a good controlled ride. This thing looks more Japanese . If you were to divide it into percentages would you say 60% Japanese 40% French influence in engineering ? I guess I’m optimistic and it looks like 80+% Japanese .

    • @youtoobe169
      @youtoobe169  4 месяца назад +2

      @@vultureguy33Yes. Electric computer controlled power steering. Makes it feel like it has really light steering but I also find it makes it harder to gauge where the wheels are. I miss the feel of the actual hydraulics from my early 2000s Toyota.

      @izaicslinux6961 same, I wish they had gone even more basic. The Versa also is drive by wire with electronic controlled throttle. These are only minor gripes to me though. But yeah if it was up to me the car would be as mechanical and manual throughout, as possible.

    In my opinion nothing can beat mk6-7 VW golf tdi in terms of value for money. It's not the cheapest to maintain, but it also doesn't feel like an economy car. It's really quiet, has an overall solid feeling and blends right in which I love. The R&D vag group puts in golf is crazy and that comes across. My sister has one and we both recently test drove mercedes glc and even though we decided glc300de is suitable as her next car, that only proved to me how good the golf is.
