what a weird thing to say. it is not weakness to be upset about how the one childhood that you get which is the foundation for your entire life was ruined, especially if you are still living in the actively ruined childhood(you are speaking that way about a child, by the way). you clearly do not understand trauma whatsoever.
@null6353 Exactly. Obviously, rising above adverse circumstances should be seen as a positive thing, but everyone goes through things (especially traums) differently. It reeks of the 'good victim' mentality.

I'm a recovered addict as well. My nieces who are now 13 and 16 witnessed me before during and after my addiction to meth. We openly discuss addiction sence my recovery. @@LovelyMissMiller85 Fit off Congratulations on your sobriety. You're doing great. I think addiction needs to be spoken about more with children. I've been very open and honest with my daughter about drugs. I know one day she might experiment with drugs. But, she has seen what dependency can do, and she said "Mom, I don't want to ever live that again." Now that I'm sober, I'm trying to make up for the time lost in active addiction. I've never been an alcoholic, but members in my family and my fiancee's family suffer. I don't know any of you but I'm scared guys, and I feel like I am screaming out for help and no one hears me! My drinking causes alot of outbursts along with many mental illnesses. I don't harm myself children of course or anything like that, but my fiancee gets the worst. I applaud you guys who have gotten better, I just don't know where to start🤦🏽♀️
I really hope you can get help, see if you can find a community mental health clinic, a lot of them have sobriety groups or can direct you to services for sobriety.
To find out where to start, talk to your doctor, or a preacher if you're religious, or Google AA in your area. Taking the first step is the most important thing. Don't put it off, act TODAY! I'm sending you tons of love and support...you got this! 👍❤️🥰
If you're noticing outbursts from drinking you are already abusing alcohol. Your loved ones don't deserve to see you like that. Even if you think you're being obvious about needing help sometimes you have to spell it out for those around you and let yourself get vulnerable as you talk about. If you're not able to afford therapy or are unwilling to go, then it might be beneficial to try taking classes at a local community college. Expand your interests, build a better relationship with yourself, write some poetry about it, go rock climbing, anything to rewire your brain and retrain yourself to appreciate all the opportunities you have to make changes. It sounds hokey but each exhale is a chance to let go of what you don't need and each inhale is a moment to invite in what you do need.

Well done to yeah all never a drugs or alcohol problem.
There is such a horrible stigma attached to addicts. Everyone seems to be failing them. I have been sober for many, many years. I have actually lost count. It’s a situation i don’t ever, ever want to go back to. I was in denial for so long when i ended up in rehab. Everything changed there. Reading the comments on these young people is encouraging. Clearly they are loved and cherished. Thank you for assisting and encouraging them. They are well worth it. Much love. ❤
My favorite episode I’ve ever watched . Just passed 25 months sober from prescription amphetamines , xanax, and alcohol only being 19 myself . Very happy for these people and their mindsets in recovery will take them far

The short haired lady from intervention team was the most loving I ever watched on that show
I thought she was man at first.
Love how she conducted that intervention. It was just amazing, and beautiful 🥹
I think she was there before so she understands what they are going through
That both families support each other in the intervention shows how good people they must be inside❤
💯 👏 👏 👏 ❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, such good people! One kid was smoking meth and pregnant at 14, the other one had a screwed up childhood his "father" apologized for putting him through. Yup, those parents are GOOD PEOPLE INSIDE!
@@joeybloey5192 Parents are human, too. Nature vs nurture, poor vs rich, everyone has their faults but it's coming together for the sake of their child that matters. You can't go back in the past and change things. You can only move forward and that's what it seems like their families are doing, too. Melly and Tommy can cry about their childhoods, but they didn't, instead they got the help they needed.
@@youtubeyoutubeyoutube9961 Yes, and they got so much help, in fact, that they're back on the streets, addicted again (mentioned elsewhere in this comments thread). Where are the good people at, now that the cameras are gone?

Not once did Melly or Tommy cry about their childhoods and how their families failed them. Instead they admitted they had a problem and got the help they needed. Seems like their families are very supportive now with them and that's great to see.
Yeah right the mom looks like she gives them meth
what a weird thing to say. it is not weakness to be upset about how the one childhood that you get which is the foundation for your entire life was ruined, especially if you are still living in the actively ruined childhood(you are speaking that way about a child, by the way). you clearly do not understand trauma whatsoever.
@null6353 Exactly. Obviously, rising above adverse circumstances should be seen as a positive thing, but everyone goes through things (especially traums) differently. It reeks of the 'good victim' mentality.
So weird to say and ignorant, embarrassing

My daughter is 14 and the thought of my baby doing drugs is horrifying. I'm a recovering addict, I was dependent on opioid painkillers. We speak openly about addiction and drugs. Imagine failing your child, thats what Melly's parents did. I pray that they both stay clean and sober ❤
I'm a recovered addict as well. My nieces who are now 13 and 16 witnessed me before during and after my addiction to meth. We openly discuss addiction sence my recovery. I really think it makes a positive difference in the long run. In their reality, they're old enough to understand the effects and have no interest in experimenting
@@LovelyMissMiller85 Fit off Congratulations on your sobriety. You're doing great. I think addiction needs to be spoken about more with children. I feel so guilty, because when my daughter was younger she didn't get the mom she deserves. She had a doped out mom looking for her next fix. Constantly on the road and spending money on pills. I've been very open and honest with my daughter about drugs. I know one day she might experiment with drugs. But, she has seen what dependency can do, and she said "Mom, I don't want to ever live that again." Now that I'm sober, I'm trying to make up for the time lost in active addiction. I get called the "On the Go ATM." 😂 If she or her friends need anything, I'm that mom.
Congrats on breaking the cycle!! Addiction runs in my family but we never ever spoke of it even though it was staring us in the face every single day. If my parents had been more ooen and hinest about the disease of addiction, i might not have ever become an addict myseld. You are doing an amazing job by being open and honest with your children. Make sure they know that addiction is an inherited disease that runs in families and can be passed on generation to generation. They should probably avoid even casual drinking when they get older. Everyone is blaming the parents but seems to forget by the time a child is 14 they have a mind of their own and are pretty heavily influenced by friends. You can be the most attentive parent but that doesn’t mean your kid might not try drugs or alcohol. A kid especially a teenager is going to do what they want to do regardless of how great their parents are.

They can't be together if they want to be sober. They both need to move on and chose survival. It's a standard procedure with recovery.
As an addict I've been around ALOT of other addicts I have zero doubts they will get clean and stay clean. Relapse is part of it. But that drive to want better will ALWAYS over showdow. They got a taste of sobriety and instead of chasing that high every time they get high now they will feel worse about it. It will out shadow that drive for feeling numb cause they know a better feeling. They were both so quick to say yes...

I was given fentanyl at the hospital after a miscarriage. It's scary how quickly it makes you forget about everything. I completely understand how people get addicted to it.
I got fentanyl during labor in the hospital. I had no idea what it was. The second they put it in the IV, everything started spinning and I started vomiting. I can't understand why anyone would take it.
The best part is always seeing how they look. She actually looks alive now. Breaking up with your boyfriend is a great result. If you want to be a nurse then be a nurse like the ones who saved you. He looks a lot better too. It took a few weeks for the brain fog to wear off. Go to meetings, get your GED, and move forward. They will be fine if they remember how it was and don't go home.
I saw these two, on a channel called. Lost in Phoenix. It's so hard when the addiction is generational. Because you can't fix your entire family. You can only fix yourself. They are just babies 😢💔I hope they find sobriety and happiness. They deserve a better life.

Most definitely
I've never been an alcoholic, but members in my family and my fiancee's family suffer. I slowly feel myself turning to alcohol more often, but I watch these and think about my kids (a set of triplet girls (6) and two boys (10 and 9)) and feel the need to seek help before it gets way out of hand.
“I know one will never be enough so if I can control that first one then I don’t have to worry about the next one” someone told me that and I carry it with me till this day. Sending love and prayers for you and your family. YOU GOT THIS 💪🏾💯🫶

you can tell melly was so relieved to see her family lovedher.. amazing. you can see it in her eyes she wantd the help
Wow, they can talk so much clearer and look so healthy. Wish them the best
What a change in both of those young people. I hope they continue in their lives and remain healthy. It was remarkable how both their families came together to help them both. Love conquers all
Definitely lots of trauma growing up in both of those homes. All addicts have trauma in the past usually with their upbringing. Mine was a horrible sociopathic dad thought I cut out of my life
the glow in their eyes and face after 89 days. i almost cried but i am so proud of both of them! i pray they both stay sober for themselves, their families, and each other!💝
Made me cry! I’m so happy for them. I know they’ll be doing much better in life. They both seem very kindhearted.
Wow! What a fabulous video...I sure hope both Melly & Tommy make it in life and not have any setbacks...Good luck to both!!❤
Thier love is a co- dependant one.

I just saw them on Lost In Phoenix and I’m so sad they didn’t stay sober. she was a year sober :(
Omg noooo
Sad to say I’ve watched them on a channel called “lost in phoenix” he goes around the streets of phx az and interviews the homeless , and they’re back on the streets after this show aired you’ll find it on his channel
I know exactly what RUclips channel you’re talking about, I’ve seen them too.
You have to be 100% dumb to be homeless in Arizona.
Yes, that show is very sad as is the people in Kensington 😢@@karinabandera1337

I’ve been in this situation. Both us 21 years old on Oxys and heroin. It’s sad because they really do love eachother but the chances they can stay clean together are slim to none. You have to change everything to get clean. Drugs add levels of trauma in a relationship that you can’t really undo. I hope they both make it the drugs these days are killing people more than ever. It’s not “if” anymore it’s “when” with fentanyl.
