Scott, thanks a million. We have a W4800, and I removed the black tube, and it was blocked with lint and soap residue. I high pressure blasted it. I'm a Brewmaster, and just toasted you with a beer.

Thanks for such a thorough and step by step approach. Fixed a Miele 20 year old machine that wouldn't drain and spin. Perhaps another 20 years life. Thanks again Pete

Great stuff man-saved me a bomb following your advice on dismantling and cleaning this drain hose and outflow. Didn’t drop the ball but dropped the washer! Ugh

The reason why that u bend was leaking was because the end of the drain hose started have a bit of dirt on it if you clean the end of it and then go and put that back on it won’t leak :)

    Hi Mate
I got a Miele W3725 that seems to do an erratic cycle when it does the final spin there is still a lot of soap suds on the glass and the washing is still very wet and then we gotta give it another spin. Also when we select the wash cycle the screen says how long it will take like cotton short wash about 55mins and it takes much longer. Also clothes come out covered in lintel and soap stains.
Yes I clean out the drain at the bottom regularly.
I already changed the pump and check all the hoses are not blocked but that didn't fix it.
If you can diagnose for me I'm happy to pay you as I can't afford to buy a new on cause I'm retired and don't have a lot of cash laying around if you know what I mean.
I can get spares easily enough.
    Thanks George

What soap are you using? Get the European Persil. Two tablespoons for a large wash. If you still see suds on the glass in the final spin, you're using way too much soap. That used to happen to me all the time. It would be spitting out soap from the top during the rinse and spin.. I know exactly what you're referring to.

@@georgemooyman7155 We almost did that, but a comparable one would have been over $3700. How is the build quality om the W1's. It just looks like they're moving toward fancy electronics than innovation and build quality. Wow, I must be getting old saying something like that.

Hi george, please watch the video of John Harvey on draining trouble. His approach is quite like Scotts (thank you Scott)
John goes some steps further following the black tube to the y-shaped split and through some more tubes that end at the coin trap (also referred to as filter) as Scott says.
All the tubes, pipes and splits can get clogged over time.
Cut a powercord from an old tv or lamp or something and push the cord through all the tubes. Dont be suprised by all the $#!t that comes out. Make water flow through them and rinse them out well.

A machine that doesn't drain completely, does often finish the washing programme, even without errors, BUT doesn't get rid of all of the soap of the first cycle, so that could explain the soap stains and otherwise unsatisfying washing/spin drying results.
