This was a huge help. My mom urgently needed a washer and since it was going to sit outside, we weren't spending a lot. Lady sold us one cheap because it overflowed and she could only get it to work on medium load. When we got it home, now it wouldn't spin. Expecting it was the belt, I came across your video and it was the exact problem. The machine works on big loads now too. Thaaaaaaank yoooooou!!!

I have this washer, and in my case, there was a large amount of Fluff from god knows where and it was wrapped around the thingie that makes the belt spin, so as it spun it wrapped tightly around it and was starting to burn as the pully turned. So it would spin but it would stop and smell like it was burning.

Hi. This looks like the exact washing machine that I have, and today it started giving me problems. I purchased it used about a year ago. It will not spin nor drain. It started make a very large scraping noise, and then it would no longer drain out tge water nor spin. I took everything out of the washer soak and wet. You can still hear a lot of water inside of the drum of the machine. When I put it on drain/spin it sounds as if its washing, but it's not draing out the water nor is it spinning. Please help me. I can't afford to buy another machine right now. How do I get the water out of the machine, (I can't see the water, I just hear it)? Do I have the same problem as your video? It's not draining nor spinning, and the drum sounds like it's still full of water. Please help. Thank you.

It sounds like it needs a new lid lock.

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance I can try it, but on my model, the lid lock engages when the unit starts draining and appears to be working fine, so my next question would be, why wouldn't it spin if the drain function works and the lid locks?

@@uni-owllewis6716 ended up being the belt at the bottom was falling off. tried putting the same belt back on a few times and it kept coming off. ordered a new one and it was much harder to get on, which meant the old belt was just worn. a week or so in with the new belt and no problems!
