- Spider-Man is one of the most powerful and versatile heroes in the Marvel Universe. So versatile, in fact, that he's also a super-powered poker professional.

There was a time where Spider-Man lost his Spider Sense and immediately proved how reliant he was on it by walking out into traffic and getting hit by a car.
He also develops a martial art so good he can Block and be on par with madame who can see the fucking future, spider martial arts is super op especially when he gets his spider sense back
Yeah... He covered that in the other Spiderman video.
@@arnehurnik Well either that or you endanger other people because like most other heroes he bends over backwards to save people and leaves himself open. That responsibility can be his downfall.
@@apierror You definitely aren't wrong, hmm...
Yeah, or shooting his web mid-slinging on some soggy piece of plaster and falling to his demise.
My favorite one is from EMH where he has to disarm a bomb that will blow up the city.
He has NO idea which wire will disarm the bomb, so he just lets his spider sense warn him and it flares every time he went towards one that would explode. And when it doesn’t go off he knows that’s the one that will disarm it.

Spiderman can make the perfect pancakes because his spider-sense tells him when to flip the pancake. It’s real. Look it up.

I'm sure the superhuman dexterity doesn't hurt, either. He'd make a great line cook, able to literally juggle a hundred orders at once on the flat top. And what if they let him in the kitchen at the pizza shop? Could spin a perfect pie and top it with a single flick of the wrist.
Well, Spider-Man could. Parker is inversely competent without the mask.
Spidey sucks at cooking but every now and then he gets a little lucky
Fun fact, Peter's clones Ben and Kaine also don't trigger his Spider-sense, it iditifies them as "self".
Kyle Lopes and the symbiotes that come from Venom like Carnage too
Also because Ben is a clone he never bonded to venom so therefore venom does set off his spider-sense
Into the spider verse do like dosent that contradict
@@forrestfire2021 actually venom surprise attacks Spidey all the time
@@kingarchon8538 No, the CLONE Ben never bonded to a symbiot. He can't be surprised by venom. Peter can be.
That bit about him getting extremely discomforted actually comes up in Infinity War. He senses that he's about to get dusted, but he can't dodge it or do anything to avert it so he feels physically ill.
So true
Also cuz his healing factor tried to keep him alive
He just *knows*
He has a healing factor?
That must be a horrifying feeling. You’re body warns you of a threat that it can’t even identify, you feel ill and try to fight it, but you and your senses know there’s no hope.
I love the random applications of superpowers.
Yeah its awesome
As far as upper limits go there's an alternate version dubbed the spider-assassin who trained his spider-sense to the point that he literally sees the future and was described as 'knowing what his enemies were going to do before they did'
@Roberts Black he makes some appearances in the spider-verse comic run but i think he originates from an edgy what if from the 90s. you can probably look him up on a wiki for more details.

Yes
Uhhh, yeah. That's also why his dusting was the saddest. He was the only one who actually felt it. His Sipder-sense was going so crazy it actually caused him pain, while everyone else felt nothing & didn't know they were going to dust away until it was already happening.
Yeah. That’s why no one else really did anything. They all kind of faded away, except Spider-Man.

The funny thing is, the spider-sense is really this petty. The problem is, unless Peter reins it in, it will change constantly blare at him about every minor danger. He has to pick and choose what’s really important.

I flinched when you said "papercut"; Spider-Sense confirmed
Considering this goes off for complete strangers that Spider-Man hasn’t even actually seen, this implies that peter has a default distrust of everyone. That’s the most New York thing I’ve ever seen out of him
Everyone's an asshole until proven otherwise.
I wouldn't be surprised if his spider-sense does affect attracting women.
For a guy who is seen as quite the nerd, he's quite the ladies man.
He's described as a nerd, but he's also described as boyishly handsome. His high school crush Liz Allen said something along the lines of "he's super hot, but he's such a nerd".
@@DuckBilledAtheist that's true, just because you're a nerd doesn't mean that you can't be attractive, as he clearly is.
However in general, Peter was not a socialite in high school, being more interested in science and having extracurricular activities, such as fighting crime in his free time, taking photos for the Daily Bugle and caring for Aunt May.
Obviously no one knew about his crime fighting, and the only people he hung out with were other "nerds".
So he was in an unpopular group, and never socialised after school with people that "mattered".
So naturally he was seen as weak, and an easy target for bullying.
Unless every other guy looked like their face had a fight with a wall all the time, and the personality of a magikarp, most people would see him as cute, but not worth it.

The only problem with the Spidersense helping Peter out in day-to-day situations is what Peter himself calls "Parker luck", which results in the more common usage of the Spidersense being negated and Peter just having the worst of luck in life basically any time he walks out the door.
An example for that is what Karl mentioned with the Avengers not inviting Spidey to poker.
I've always thought Peter Parker might have missed his true calling as a bomb disposal tech. He'd always know which wire to cut.

Back thirty years ago when I was reading Spiderman comix, I remember that his spidey-sense was kinda unreliable.
Sometimes he didn't know what the hell it was warning him about. This implies that its more like a generic alarm signal.
In one comix, he was photographed holding the body of Peter Parker from another dimension. That Peter Parker had the suit on but he'd removed the mask.
His Spider sense warned him, but he wasn't sure what the threat was, leading him to shrug it of as a glitch.
He once used his spider-sense to stop a computer destruction sequence because if the hit the wrong button he would die
I love in the comics there was one time when Spidey was running down a list of ideas to solve a problem and his spidey sense went off every time he had a bad idea
It could be that his Spider Sense actually *is* consistent when you put it into specific context in terms of people he trusts not setting it off. For example, if he is fighting side by side with someone he doesn't consider them a threat at that time, but if he meets up with that same person to play poker for actual money he would then consider them a 'threat' in that context. This would explain why consistently Black Cat is the only character to never once set it off in any universe despite having turned on him, used him, played him or screwed him over so many times. He knows she will never do anything serious to him, but at the same time he knows she's always a bit of an unknown which he chooses to trust.
In spider-man: coming home by jms its implied that ezikiel (who has spider powers) used his spider sense to build his mulit-million dollar company. Spidey also uses his spider sense to track his spider tracers because his spider sense can tap into radio waves
I always imagined that his "spider sense" is actually just a part of his brain in a perpetual state of hyper focus. So really, everything he senses from it he could have on his own, but the human brain processes so much information and is doing so much, it isn't capable of putting together the subtle pieces that would inform him of X thing.
Basically a part of his brain is always on "Super Genius" mode
@Uvuvwevwevwe Onyetenyevwe Ugwemuhwem Osas it's in fact multiverse spider magic occurring to spiderverse
I thought this was going to be about Tobey Maguire being the real life Player X in Molly's Game and inviting other celebrity's to the underground poker matches.
Spiderman is just the best hero, and by best I mean the best person to ever become a hero, he is so nice and friendly that he is a beacon of morality for the marvel universes.
I know I’m replying to this rather late, but some of the Marvel Zombies comics show the extent of Spider-Man’s morality.
A good video to watch would be “How Marvel Zombies gave us the purest form of spider-man” by Dorkly.
The Jackal literally used this against him to bypass the spidersense back in the days.
Let's not forget the incident with Charlie too.
Wtf is "this"? Thanks for contributing :p
Actually I think the reason that Aunt May was able to sneak up on Peter during Homecoming was explained that he wasn’t written to actually have a full fledged spider sense at that point. I can’t remember exactly where I heard that but it’s also why he wasn’t able to avoid a lot of damage in the film that he would usually never take. You also have to realize that the MCU heroes are more toned down in terms of the strength of their powers. Besides Captain America and Iron Man all the heroes have had a power reduction from the comics.
I would also like to say that the way his spider sense has been written pretty inconsistent throughout the years. Even his physical capabilities have waxed and waned as well. I would generally say the spider sense alerts him to all threats physical whether it’s an ally or not. I say that it would alert him to allies just because it’s not a voluntary power so it wouldn’t care whether it’s a friend or not. If it’s a threat to him, he can sense it. It’s also been shown that a large portion of the superhero community doesn’t know how his spider sense works. The best example I can think of is during the Age of Ultron comic when he’s asked to use his spider sense to predict what’s on the other side of a door to one of Nick Furys bunkers. He tells them that it doesn’t work like that and that he must be in imminent danger for it to be set off. This shows a general lack of knowledge of Spider-Mans powers by the majority of his allies.
Spider-Man has ultra-instinct. Change my mind.
What if he didn't but he later gets it on top of his spider sense
He dosent have ultra instonct others have spider sense

Spider sense seems completely OP, kind of like a less-powerful, all-encompassing version of Darwin's ability
no no no, Toby Maguire as Uncle Ben (flashback) and Andrew Garfield as the pizza delivery guy!
Toby might've coined the 'pizza time' meme, but honestly this way you'd get all three Spider-Men in one movie!
@@RickReasonnz I was sure there was a bigger age difference, but there's only 10 years between them, Toby could totally play a flash back uncle Ben
Guys, they should make Andrew be the pizza delivery guy and Toby Uncle Ben picks it up for Tom.
Better yet just bring them to the MCU since there's already a multiverse now
I like to think now that the spider sense functions as a heightened sense of situational awareness. Like a portion of his brain is always devoted to calculating deeply the surrounding environment and people, and it chimes in to the conscious Peter with the tingle any time something is off. Like there are two spider-men: the surface "peter parker, professional lovable doof that makes mistakes", and the deeper "peter parker, professional badass who can and will kick you to kingdom come in the most efficiently painful way possible", and that the spider sense is just how this deeper peter communicates with the surface peter.
not that I've actually read enough comics to know whether or not this ramble has been done before or not.
I like this idea, and would like it if for a moment, they fused. And you'd end up with a loveable but ultra competent Peter, who can do no wrong.
Do a drinking video with comic book related stuff please.
That'll be a combination of two of my favourite things
I hope he does a drinking video of his discussing something about the "Deadpool kills the marvel universe" comic series. It would be rather interesting.
Spider-man performing surgery - No spider sense, patient dies.
Spider-man being forced to perform surgery with a gun to his head - best surgeon ever.
Thought Bubble: What if his spider-sense isn't constantly screaming at him because the mask somehow helps improve it? Because obviously his spider-sense is always active in his daily life, because it's an organic power, unlike his webs, but when he's wearing the mask, it, I dunno, overclocks it somehow. Like, what if it's a mental thing, the same way he becomes quippy and a smart-ass when he's in the costume, his spider-sense understands that it's now open season to his rouges gallery, so it ups the ante to keep him protected. Just a thought.
I think the reason Venom bypasses the Spider Sense is the symbiote is obsessively in love with its former host. It doesn't actually want him harmed so much as to just be rejoined with by any cost. The fact that it is acting out of "love" is the reason it is able to go undetected. It may have developed its own Spider Sense that it can brodcast to confuse Peter's to further mask it's presence. (Yes, Spider-Man's Spider Sense can act like an existential radio reciever to detect other's with spider powers. Venom just seems to have flipped this.)
Daredevil's power is also a pro level poker player cuz of the radar sense
Not in particular as as far as I'm aware poker cards have no difference in the indentation, meaning that daredevil would have no way to know what the cards said
In fact, Daredevil's radar sense is superb to spider sense in instances of point blank range and actual combat
Viral Knight Daredevil can read books and newspapers by smelling or feeling the ink. So he would be able to tell what everyone’s cards are.
ETA: Veteran That was back when the Radar sense and the spider sense were mostly the exact same thing. Since then, the spider sense is drastically different from radar sense to the point that they're barely comparable. Spider Sense is a form of low-level precognition (with the potential to become mid-level or higher) while Radar Sense is just really heightened senses. The spider sense has infinite range and can only be manipulated or overcome with pure idiotic plot devices whereas the radar sense is limited in scope and can be logically and consistently used against Daredevil.
Spiderman also wakes up immediately before his alarm because of his Spidey-Sense perceives it as a threat and wakes him up.
5:58 because of how bad the pain of his spider sense was this is why ,in Infinity War, Spider-Man didn’t feel so good before being dusted
In the MCU movies Peter doesnt rely on his spidey sense in the first movie because he is afraid of it, they talk about it in far from home
If Tobey ends up being a delivery guy, his line better be "Pizza Time!"
I think one thing that you’ve missed so far is that in most spider-man adaptations his spider-sense gives him omnipresent detection of his surroundings meaning the spider-sense doesn’t tell him what to web swing on he can detect his surroundings and chooses which part of a building to swing from. This is shown in the sam raimi trilogy.

Who knew Spiderman was so amazing.😂😂
7:20 Funny you mention that since in the game Ultimate Spider-Man it has the opposite effect where even being near Venom causes Parker intense headaches that stun him in place.
When fighting him in one mission you can't stay next to him too long or you'll be stunned and take a free hit.
It's also shown in a previous cutscene that even though neither of them had seen each other, he felt like his head was splitting open, it was debilitatingly painful to even be in the same part of town for him-and he has to fight a guy physically stronger than him.
how does spider sense not drive spider man insane it must go off constantly
Spider man’s spider sense once let him defuse an alien bomb he couldn’t understand
I mean check all the women Spider-Man has been with...they're all super models and such, spider sense 100% helps him. Just the fact it'd make it not say the wrong thing.
That doesn't mean he'd say the right thing though.
I bet it doesn't hurt that he's super ripped either.
Wayne Mingin
Not to mention his sense of humor
And he is usually quite handsome
He's like the ultimate ladies man
The way I see it, his spider-sense doesn't really detect threats, it recognizes threats. Spider-sense or not, any person who feels threatened feels that way because they know what these threats are. Peter's spider-sense would work in detecting cameras because he knows having cameras pointed at him is a bad thing and sees them as a threat. If he walked into a barber shop, he wouldn't know which barber would give him a bad haircut because he doesn't know what the "I can't cut hair" sense is. Same goes for the surgery scenario. If he's never preformed surgery, his instincts wouldn't be tuned to detect the dangers of preforming that surgery.
Edit: Just read Karl's twitter. Out of curiosity, will Brad be making a return in any future video?

I like the senario where Peter is about to meet an ex on the street.
Like, imagine walking down the street and then just feel absolutely paralizing pain for no reason.
Wonder if it could tell him a fart is safe or will be a shart
there was a comic where he was found by wolverine and black widow and they trained him to be an assassin. he became damn near precognitive. they honed his spider sense to a point where he could tell you exactly what would happen minutes in advance
Does spidersense activate when he's near a contagious person ( ex: HIV positive, ebola, etc)?
The way I see it is that it warns him about potential threats or boons to his intentions. If his intention is to not die in this fight he will be told how to do that. If his intention is to have fun playing a game of poker with his mates but not necessarily win then it won't tell him about them bluffing. However when he wants to beat fisk at it the sense is all up on that, especially as he already considers him a threat. I guess also that the "not working on friends" is kinda like assigning an innocent until proven guilty status to them so until he actually has cause to consider them threats it doesn't bother with them.
Peter: hey girl -

Didnt tell him he was killing his wife with his sperm, so probably not
Well it wasn’t his life that was in danger ....
It's also funny that his spidey sense allows him to make the perfect eggs
Yay early as the elderly for dinner.
Think in the avengers assemble series and Spider-Man animated series there was a occasion where a reactor was going to explode and he used his spider sense to figure out which buttons he shouldn’t press until his spider sense didn’t trigger and he knew what button was the safe/right one
6 mins late, Damn
His spider sense is actually why he didn’t feel so good in infinity war, it was trying to warn him about the snap but because the snap was such a big event it made Spider-Man uncomfortable.
OK GAMERS NOW THIS IS EPIC
I remember in the Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes show, Spider-Man used his Spider Sense to disarm an alien weapon (I think it was Galactus' ship or something) simply by not pulling the levers that set off his Spider Sense
Spider-Sense having his body move while he's forcibly astral projected in No Way Home would be a fun addition to this video.
spider sense makes spidermans pull out game strong
In regards to poker, it's more accurate to mention that his Spider Sense let's him know if someone is lying, thus he knows if that raise was a bluff.
Spider Totems' power to sense danger is directly connected it the Web of Life and Destinity. It can sense through entirety of time and space in all of multiverse. That was one way to explain why it's so op.
It doesn't matter if I already know the argument, hearing Karl and Brad discuss it is always a treat

I suspect that if something is very minor the spider sense is super weak to a point where unless he’s playing super close attention he doesn’t notice it, considering that the super dangerous and life threatening stuff is super strong and causes him pain.
I finally figured it out. I've had 'Go Tell it on the Mountain' stick in my head for WEEKS AND WEEKS. I was like 'why? why?' It's because that little ditty at the end of your videos reminds me of the song. GAH! You did this to me!!!
Love your vids. Just want to push a point you dance around home. Spider sense ALLOWS Peter to choose targets to anchor that won't hurt people. His sense tells him enough for him to choose. Don't lesson the heroic nature of Spider-Man. He's one of the few heroes actively trying to be good. Love your vids.
Spider Man is the baller pimp of trying to be a good person. He's the original emo self doubt and tribulation.
There was the what if where he got trained by a legendary black ops agent, and essentially gained enough focus and fine-tuning of his spider-sense that he became essentially a straight pre-cog able to pick up on people evening thinking of harming him or those around him long before they came close to doing it, not mention going one on one with black widow and her not being able to touch him. Basically if Peter ever got proper mentoring, and didn't have stuff in his life distracting him his spider-sense would be even scarier in power.
