Great video on covering your optic. I use a Holosun 512 on my PCC and did not want to put tape on my RD and get the adhesive on my optic. I brought a rubber optic cover and cut the back end off and it works great. Thanks for the tips!
I love this, I've always cover mine. I shoot with both eyes and someone gave me that tip years ago. I didn't even know what it was called. I see color and bang general I only see the target or remember it. Interesting.
I need to try this in practice. But would you say if you don't cover your red dot you still want to look 'over' the red dot not through the glass? Subbed thanks for the videos
Only one correction: This isn't recent. This is an old school Open shooters technique to check for target focus that you can find guys doing in the 1990s. I genuinely appreciate the "you decide" nature of this video. You explain why it works for you but don't state it as absolute fact. I don't occlude. I think aside from fixing an issue with target focus in practice or if you have "double dot" issues shooting into the sun there is no real benefit. In fact, I have seen the occlusion bite people in the backside when they are shooting just past objects on leans. Because the non-dominate eye is registering a clean view, you shoot and hit the wall/barrel/barricade etc... I have also seen a tendancy for newer shooters to hit consistently low while occluded. I have no explanation for that. I have just witnessed it on numerous occasions. It stops happening once they remove the occlusion.

Thanks for the love and support!!!
Cool I'll get to work, always looked with both eyes through the glass and just can't stay target focused.
@@JackattackZA I’d say the best terminology I could use is “look past the dot”
