  • So, I moved to Hong Kong at the end of last year
I applied for a work visa, planned to take a career break for 6 ish months and work in coffee. But some of my plans regarding housing and sustaining a life here fell through and I had to pivot (find a new house and full-time job). I also quickly realized that it takes time to grow roots, to build a career and life for yourself, and to make friends. I wanted to give life a fair chance, so I decided to stay! Learning to take it one step at a time, learning to adjust as I go and also to just enjoy life. Not always worry about the next thing.
I’m happy to be here. I get to explore my multi-cultural identity and experience being asian amongst asians and take a step away from the only environment I’ve known. Growth, self-doubt, facing unfamiliar people and situations, feeling lonely, feeling proud for overcoming fears, it’s all part of the process!!
Feel free to follow along as I document my life on this account and make hk feel more like a home (usually not in real time cause most of this footage is from feb HAHAH when my parents came to visit me!)
