Rick shields is the biggest dork on RUclips, but that's why I like him. Great video guys, love the old clubs. Never saw those Ping forged irons, but Pete made them look great
Rick's game so reminds me of my own. Just a touch out of sorts and it's bunker to bunker, grinding for par. You can literally watch him mentally breaking down. Or maybe I'm just seeing myself break down in him. Dudes, got game we all know it. But that mental part....it's owning him. Pete, on the other hand, your game is looking it's absolute best. All your hard work over winter is getting results. The swing looks fantastic. Biting at the bits to see the next two installments!!
I especially enjoy the friendly banter between you two.

Hey Pete, what I’d like to see is an 18 hole match between you and Rick using Persimmon Driver and Fairway wood/s and blade irons pre 1988 (ie, irons must be blades and must be at least 30 years old). Can use current balls.

Finally a video on the Wilson.. I have this driver in the bag and I think it's underestimated love this driver! Seems to be working well enough for me anyway!

I always enjoy watching the pair of you play on the course because you can see the genuine friendly rivalvry, and I can testify to those Ping Anser irons feeling gorgeous when struck and they are surprisingly long I found too, I tried a set at Raleigh Golf Range last year in Essex but they were asking to much at the time.

Love to see both of you use late 1970 or early 1980 clubs and play the golf balls from same time period.
Think it should be a rule in these challenges that you can only buy clubs you've never gamed before. Don't see the point in buying clubs you used to use yourself a few years back. No real risk or adventure there. Just saying :)

Of all the putters I waste money on, I always revert back to my Craz-e. It’s been the most crucial club I’ve owned for ten years or so. My Scottys live in the living room looking all pretty 🙄

Mizuno irons shouldn't sound that bad. It sounds like Rick thinning every shot. Considering he's topping the 3 wood, it's most likely the case.

Why is it that I can't remember Rick ever using an R15 on the old course vlogs? Somehow I only remember a couple old Ping drivers, the SLDR, and then the original M1 before the callaway switch. Anyway, loving the vlogs!

For a future challenge guys, start with a full bag for each, in stroke play. Lowest score of each hole takes a club, his choice, out of the opponents bag.
Another challenge would be a real laugh for the viewer anyway. lol
You choose your own club to use of each tee box. For the 2nd shot on, your opponent selects the club you "have to use", regardless of the distance to the hole..

wow how's that 10th fairway look!!?? Is there a local rule that says "please don't fix your divots"? what a shambles that looks....mind you this is coming from Australia where fixing everything from tee to green, even if it's not yours, is paramount to walking onto a golf course...anyone?

If I'm thinking of buying from golf bidder but don't k ow my spec, what should I do? I like the r15 and remember ricks first review on it and wanting one but budget didn't fit after these videos buying one what should I be looking for?

Pete, what did you use so you can see your yardage?
I’ve got ping i25’s love them, would ping anser be an improvement?
I’ve heard the ansers are slightly bigger?
Cornwall1888 I've played both and prefer i25 hands down.
The biggest difference you would see is in feel. The i25s are cast and the Ansers are forged. The Ansers will feel considerably softer. Otherwise the Anser line had similar size shape and offset to the i series irons so you probably won't see much difference if any at all in how they play.

Keep it going Pete, 18 hole match is all but yours. Can see you're not enjoying the wedges you got. Shame that because I think the Anser's could nearly go straight in the bag. Maybe there the 'anser' you're looking for.

Can I just say I've been looking forward to this latest instalment of the second hand club challenge; but is it really a challenge? After all Rick and yourself have demonstrated over 2 episodes already; that you do get a whole lot of good club for £500, clubs that no doubt the pair of you may of reviewed or indeed used over both of your successful professional careers. What would be a challenge is the 'Budget new club challenge', for example you can pick up a new full set of Dunlop or Slazenger clubs for around £150. I imagine a number of your viewers like myself are new to the game and wouldn't really want to be splashing out £500 for a new set, never mind second hand. You could review the clubs before taking them on the course and demonstrate what can actually be achieved without spending a whole lot of cash, may even encourage more people to take up golf as I know the expense often puts people off even trying.
I will close by saying, keep up the good work and I have it on my to-do list this year to get across for some lessons.

I enjoy Rick's videos but if I was going to him as a golf instructor I would be asking for a reduced rate after watching these videos. At least get a free lesson for every 5 paid for.

Shawn Woods Pete said they couldn't play together because of the weather in Manchester after they recorded this, I'd say the fact that it's so unbalanced must be a factor also.
Shawn Woods he's reverted back to his old swing before he worked with Dan Whittaker. When I first started watching a couple years ago, he was really steep and played a huge hook. He's gone back to that.
I can so relate to the struggles of this great game but was surprised as his level of play is usually much higher as I always think of Rick and Peter as being similar in skill. I hope he gets his groove back soon as we all know how elusive it can be from time to time.
Shawn Woods he's talked about it and you can see it in their content, Rick doesn't practice near as much as Pete. Unfortunately for us, I think it's going to make for bad golf in the vlogs this summer.
