However, since the location of the game is mainly placed around the East and West Indies, the Caribbean, and around the coasts of America, they don't see the need to speak their native language in the area because the other won't be understanding what they are saying. • @Pastadudde
      @Pastadudde Год назад +190

      @@ethanbotterill2743 actually an argument could be made that having a Quebecan accent for Arno (and the rest of the nobility / upper class characters in AC Unity) is that it's more historically accurate. The common language and accent of France, Paris in particular, shifted significantly during and after the French revolution, since the working class dominated the government and cultural sphere after overthrowing the monarchy and nobility. Hence, the French nobility who were the first settlers in Canada (even before the British) retained their accents, common phrases etc since they weren't affected by the political and cultural shifts in France - making it more accurate to have a Quebecan do the French dub, since modern day Quebecan French shares more linguistic commonalities with the French nobility pre-revolution compared to a modern day French accent.

    I remember a conversation between Desmond and Rebecca in AC2 explaining how Altair, Ezio and all the characters spoke english. The things is that the Animus translated it in real time, while not yet completed so some arabic and italian words slipped from time to time.
    But a plot hole nobody explained, Ezio besides Italian speaks fluet Spanish, French and Turkish but with an accent (hence him pronouncing ''Chesáre Borgia'' and ''Constantinopole'').
    But in Valhalla, when Eivor and Kassandra met, how are they communicating? Sure the Animus translates them to english, but Kassandra speaks Greek and Eivor speaks Old-Norse, so how does it work?

It was interesting to hear all the random NPCs speaking in native languages (and not knowing what the hell they were saying) but the main characters don’t at all. Old Norse would have been amazing to listen to. Understandably, dubbing a whole massive game with voice actors (new or bilingual) including new animations for the mouths would be a huge undertaking. But, they did provide a whole dub and whatnot for essentially a second character depending on if you chose male or female so they could have done a bilingual option instead of a sex option.

      @@irnassassin actually the shape-shifter is worse to the winchesters than a vampire to them is just a normal daily chore but shape-shifter is more of a challenge for them. They can turn into anyone they want. vampires have 2 different ideas or even more on mirrors that they can't see there reflection or the one where they truly see there reflection but not what a mere mortal sees as a reflection the vampire see there true form and are disturbed by it. But I understand what ur saying but I have to say shape-shifter is worse because it takes a camera or silver to identify a shifter compared to dropping blood lol 😆

      Ubisoft Montreal is Canadian.
      They speak French, but that doesn't make them french.
      I love Unity, but I'm still salty that he had an English accent up until he speaks French 😆
