Hey I am still waiting for my wand to rock up but just watching videos before it does so I have some background knowledge but if tangling is a thing what about a swivel near the wand or would this be no good for some reason?
Hello!! Happy to have you here! Some people do like having a swivel on their longstring. I have seen setups where it sort of rests right above the top of the cap and then more long string coming from there. I don't personally prefer this because of the way I anchor. The swivel can sort of cut up between my fingers. Swivels aren't totally perfectly effective either. They definitely help and have their place, but they dont' totally prevent the string from getting twisted up in one direction, even on a short string. More so for moves like fast "palm spins". It's a good practice to spin the wand both directions from the start. ☺ You should play around with all of the sting things though! Maybe your preference will be to have a swivel on there!! String is very easy to swap out yourself too, so it won't hurt to play. If you ordered/order a wand from me and want the string to be setup special like that, just reach out anytime after you purchase and I'd be happy to make the string to your liking. I hope that helps!! Happy flowing!!
I am so thankful for your tutorials! Thank you soo very much for making them. I am learning long string from short string and am having a heck of a time. My biggest hurdle so far is the wand being low and hitting the ground when spinning anything longer than short to medium string length. What am I doing wrong? I appreciate any tips!
Yay! I'm so happy they help! The problem there sounds just like a momentum issue. You have to spin with it or assist the string around a bit to make sure that it's totally extended. If you allow the wand to spin around you too slowly it will droop and eventually hit the ground. Sooo, probably spin faster if you can with a little more energy behind it. I hope that helps! If you want to shoot me a little clip on Instagram or soemthing, I can better help if I can see it in action! 💚
