A '98 Finals vs Utah (had they held on vs. Bulls in game 7 of ECF) would've probably been more winnable. The '99 Spurs got too hot at the right time to lose; lost only 2 playoff games & swept this same basic Laker team (minus Phil).
@@darshloaf i agree with you....i believe that indiana would've beaten utah in '98 (pippen after game 7 said "im not sure the best team won)......However even if indiana beat NY in '99 they wuld NOT have beaten the spurs.......AANNDD people need to understand TWO things about this series 1. One shot (miller's gw in game 4) And 2. One quarter (fourth quarter of game 6...) And indiana wins this series... ..cuz they won all of game 6...until 6 minutes remained in game 6..........1 shot and 1 quarter...thats all
People forget how good this man was. I had just started rooting for the Lakers (10 years old) this same season and was terrified of Reggie in the Finals.
@4:17-4:23 That. That's what separates Miller from the Ray Allen and any other shooter. He doesn't need to spot-up, he just needs a split second of indecision from the defender and his lazer sight gets activated and the shot is automatic.
Two guys: Jordan & Kobe. I feel bad for him and the Pacers, because they were a good team. But when you go up against two of the greatest players with better teams than you, it's only so much you can do.
I know, they were so close that year. but with Shaq & Kobe leading an all star team no one could overcome them. that's why they won championships for like five straight years right?
When the Pacers were om offense in this series at home, they should have played the defense chant you heard in New York. With that, Reggie would have taken his team to the Finals in 95
I understand why you would say that, seeing as how Reggie made shooting off the catch/moving without the ball an art. Granted, Ray's teams didn't do a whole lot when he was the primary focus of a team, but I still feel he was just as big of a star as Reggie was. I'll say this, putting up those huge seasons in Seattle(where the sun doesn't shine) didn't mean as much as they should've, seeing as how the NW didn't get much exposure(ask Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge).
Reggie Miller was a unique player in that he reached star status primarily through catch and shoot jump shots rather than creating shots off the dribble. Ray Allen was a more diverse scorer because he could also slash and was athletic, but I don't think he was quite the level of star Miller was.
“With Kobe not being there does it make things easier defensively?” Reggie: No because Kobe is a terrible defender and I actually have to worry about someone like Shaw or Harper playing strong defense on me
One of my all-time favorites. Shame he was never an NBA Champion. In my eyes, Reggie Miller is a champion. He has so much heart and skill.
Respect for this man, he played his whole career on a pacers uniform
"I'll rest when I'm dead. This a must-win game for us."
How was he not a champion?
clutchcity25 damn right bro
he ran into prime shaq and kobe
If he played like this in 1999 he would be. Major missed opportunity that year.

Almost 40 years doing that on NBA finals … I think people can realise the level of this guy! this dude was sooooo good and underrated !!! A legend !
"Iiiiiiiittt's Milllllleeeeerrrrrrrrr Tiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmeeeeeeeee!!!!!!" We miss you Reb Porter! Go Pacers!!!!!!!

Jordan and Shaq

Pippen & Kobe
reggie is on another. fucking. level man !!
I still feel Ray Allen is the better scorer/player, but Reggie is the better shooter. And it's not as close as people think.

"Reggie is put together like a 1-iron" haha! Great call. Awesome player, for a 1-iron...
Miller is wearing the retro 15, 2:00
steph curry is the modern day reggie miller, they even look alike
+King James That was his favorite player growing up.
iTrey Minoxidil i give the edge to reggie because he played in a more physical era. Curry never has to deal with handchecking
Time miller time killer!!
Reggie was the dirtiest player to ever play the game.. he sure is one hell of a player and i would not be talking trash to that guy
Wish Reggie would of won the championship that year. But this Lakers team was too deep to much shaq and Kobe.
They could have won in 99 if they didn't choke against the Knicks
Wu Liwei true they probably could of won in 98 too
Nah I don't think they would beat Utah even if they managed to get by Chicago in 98
the Shaq and Kobe lakers were anything but deep
King Kong Aint Got Shit On Me most defiantly 98 they would of beat the jazz
ya bruh he is fo sho
***** he's actually wearing the original 15, they didn't retro until 2007-08 lol
It’s a shame Reggie never won a ring. Had a lot of bad luck facing super good teams with superstars in their primes.
*GASP* somebody else is making Reggie highlights...MY LIFE IS NO LONGER WORTH LIVING!!!! *kills self*
If the pacers had faced the blazers, they would have won it, the lakers were to much.
Lakers are Won n Pacers are Lose.
@@RonaldoLagasca your grammar doesn’t make any sense
@@RonaldoLagasca lmao
Those are 3 people.
because a 6'7" 195 guy and Rik Smits couldn't win a championship against Kobe and Shaq
well that's reggie for ya 2:56
Shame the Pacers couldn't win this. :(
a temporary victory, to say the least
“With Kobe not being there does it make things easier defensively?”
Reggie: No because Kobe is a terrible defender and I actually have to worry about someone like Shaw or Harper playing strong defense on me
More like Jordan and Shaq but Kobe was nice too
upload stuff that isn't on youtube. ive seen someone else upload Reggie's highlights from this game
Who won?
The game; Pacers.
The championship; Lakers.
By not getting any Rings.
unless i was Mj or Kobe
So glad he never won a ring
must be a goofy knicks fan lol
@@Rico_Suvae nope
glad to see this flopper never win a ring.
Knicks fan? lol
Falco Peregrinus hehe ;)
