    Happy to see you are back and with oils no less! I'm self taught and i almost quit starting with acrylics. I still remember trying out oils for the first time. Mentally orgasmic. I have to add, i think the average viewer could assume that oils and acrylics are virtually the same, especially with your style since it ends up looking similar, but in practice there is a creamy blendability (especially with the knife) that i could never get using acrylics. And im a chemist so believe me i tried everything

    For a first time back painting, I was blown away. Where online do you look up references? I’m new to painting and wondering where artists go for inspiration.

    Awe the puppies are adorable. I enjoy these vlog style vids. sigh! ironic I spent half the night practicing painting water I can imagine attempting to paint with oils I haven't taken the leap yet but I've dabbled with Acrylics. you're so good I'm like wow you took a year off and your art looks like that? looks great & don't get me started on yarn I use to get so excited going into the yarn section of the store, I bought yarn even if I didn't need it, I still get a hint of excitement simply going past the area haha, by the way you remind me of popular actress during the 80s who has had a career resurgence in recent years perhaps you've heard this a dozen times and have grown tired of hearing or seeing this if so my apologies, but you bare a resemblance. have a nice day keep up the great work ☮️✨

    It's really interesting to see how different your painting process is compared to most painters I've watched on youtube ^_^ (there is no right or wrong way to paint btw.)
    So, some people paint large colour blocks first and then go into details but some people prefer to go straight into detail, just like you are doing in this vid ^^
    I myself was taught to start in large colour blocks and then go into detail but I constantly have to restrain myself from going straight to the details because they're just so fun to do.. 🥲😭
    I hope you'll make an in depth video about how you plan your paintings and how you layer colours and how you go straight into details because I wanna try if your technique would be better for me than the blocking in technique. :)
    Have a nice day!❤ also your wife and doggies are so adorable!

    I am experimenting whit cheap oil paints from pebeo. 30 x20 ml tubes i payed 38,56. I love oil painting now. Just waiting for my walnut oil alkyd painting medium to come. I ordered a tube of gamblin solvent free gel but i don,t like that. Its smells weird and i get dizzy from the smell. I love you,re paintings Emily Mackey Art

      I’ve also used cheap oil paints, however the difference is that they are less opaque and you have to use a lot of the paint

    Hey Emily!!! How did you learn to paint water so amazingly?! What are some tip and suggestions on starting to learn how to pint water?

    • @EmilyMackeyArt
      @EmilyMackeyArt  Год назад

      Hi Corinne! Learning to paint water was truly just a lot of trail and error! I kept practicing trying to relocate reference photos of water over and over again and one day I started to be really happy with how my water paintings turned out! I also watched how some of my favorite water painters made their paintings and got lots of motivation and inspiration from their works! Hope this is helpful! Thank you so much for the support! 💕
