I remember watching The River of No Return on TV at my grandparents' house in the mid or late 1960s. We didn't have a television at home, so watching TV was a real treat when I was a kid. This movie made a deep impression on me at the age of 6 or 8 years old, and I have never forgotten it.
Marilyn Monroe never got enough credit for her acting and singing abilities.
I feel the same as you did here.
My elder brother took me to this movie at ChalermThai Theater,BKK when I was 13 or 14y/o I wasn't sure.

The Salmon River was called The river of no return cause in those times, you could down it but couldnt go back up river. now they have power boats that can get you up river.

로버트 미첨과 마를린 먼로의 돌아오지 않는 강은 서부영화 중에서 명작으로 택할만 하고 오랜 기간 기억에 남는 영화다. 먼로가 세상을 일찍 떠나 우리에게 큰 슬픔을 주었다.

A film where men were men and women were women where when a woman says NO she could mean YES which is why the earlier Christmas Movie - 4 Christmases runs in line with the GET YOUR KIT OFF BABY mentality.

The webpage does not list Robert Mitchum at all.
Tennessee Ernie Ford sang the song in the opening of the movie. That is noted in the movie's credits. Mitchum sang it during personal appearances.....occasionally. He recorded it once.
