But that is how we refer to it as most South African dear 🤷‍♀️ Relatability is important, dombolo is the common name for steam bread..

​@@dineomothI get where @lizzywilliams5233 is coming from. In KZN steamed bread that is made in a separate pot is called ujeqe. Dombolo are steamed in the stew.

Yeah. This Ujeqe(steamed bread). Idombolo(dumplings) are cooked together with meat/stew.

In KZN it’s called ujeqe, umkhupha etc… in Johannesburg it’s dombolo
