The more I see Garry in archival footage the more I realize how outstanding he really was. Some of these Interviews, plus his shows, I saw in real time but it really hits home the things he would have come up with later. Like Bill Paxton, the medical community really let him down.
"People can look at this list of questions and decide which part of the show they want to tune into." "It's like the television of the future!" Bob Costas was prescient.
didn't realize gary was an athlete as a kid, which would answer my question, why would shandling do an interiew with bob costas? he wasn't all that fond of interviews, but his agent would book them so gary could promote stuff and do his bits to really large audiences, hence carson and letterman.
The Larry Sanders Show was absolute genius!
This is an excellent, insightful interview.
Garry was one of the best.
Bob Costas is such a treasure, Shandling is a legend
The best Shandling interview of them all.. great job Costas !!
Loved The Gary Sanders show. It was ahead of its time then and timeless forever
This is GREAT!
I'm shocked that so few have commented! I love both these guys! I get smarter just listening to them!
Have you seen Letterman on Cosell? Thats a favorite of mine
@@js2010ish I did and it's GREAT1
The really great comedians all have high IQ's. Garry was a treasure.
Love Garry. I’ve watched this a handful of times-thank you. ♥️
How relaxed. Just two guys in the biz having a conversation. Great segment.
From 1992. Costas loves and looks up to Shandling, it's clear they are friends. Miss the man.
Brian Young I do too. No one like him. Have you watched his talk with Tom Petty? He was a genius.
Yes, very funny
Gary's hilarious. Thanks for uploading this

So true! Gary was up there with the true comic geniuses, like Norm McDonald, Jerry Seinfeld, etc.
Absolutely. I saw him on an old Politically Incorrect episode where he Absolutely decimated Kato Kaelin. Blue was just brilliant
Great interview. Very funny
Costas is always like a JV player who gets moved up to the Varsity team and makes a shot or 2 and is proud of himself
Yeah, that’s good.
Great upload! RIP Garry!
Thanks for uploading - great video!
A usual, better than everything else. No jokes, just straight smart energy. Well, the 1600 year old rubber story.....that's a keeper.
Loved Shandling...RIP 😢
Shandling, What a loss!
Garry seems really relaxed on this one, even though the dynamic is slightly weird - very witty too
Yeah he seems in good spirits, less constrained and self-conscious than on, say, Leno or Charlie Rose or the tv archive interview...
"People can look at this list of questions and decide which part of the show they want to tune into."
"It's like the television of the future!"
Bob Costas was prescient.
Really fun entertainment.
Pretty good interview
I've never heard Costas laugh like he did a few times here.
warm funny lovely guy, gary born ffunny man.rip
Why is the date of this show not included in the info?

You asked a question and then answered it yourself.
They predicted PTI!!! first couple minutes
😉
18:17 Pee Wee Hermen line.
18:29 in running people over
kostas needs to remember he’s a sports man not a comedian and needs to stop trying to crack jokes
One dud story after another!!
Lord I hate Bob Costas.
boring
That's my safeword
That Norman Mailer! Whew! ...dude stabbed his wife!
