  • In this chapter of the electric turbo camaro project, I road test the Camaro for the first time and compare Naturally Aspirated, Supercharged (but disabled) and Supercharged at full power. I talk about what's changed since last time and go over the test data to explain where the project needs to go next. At the end of the video I reach out to the community for feedback. Stay tuned for future updates!

With higher battery voltage the current will go way up, so you need something capable to deliver atleast 30-40% more current. When voltage collapses like that your way past the battery current design capability and heat buildup will dmg the cells. Other than that the turbo/motor size seems to be good for this application.

I did a load test with an amp clamp (wish I'd measured the voltage alongside it) and picked up an inrush of just over 200 with sustained current closer to 170. I think if my battery held nominal voltage I wouldn't be over 250A with a 7S but you're right, I'm kinda flirting with disaster. I have to creep up on 250A without going over. Maybe I'll do another load test and carefully correlate the voltage and current to come up with a transfer function I can use to calculate what my target voltage should actually be.

I’m electrical work illiterate, so excuse me; but would something like a high output alternator help with an issue like this?
