- GM W Body performance is very affordable and for about $1000 you can bring your 3800 series 2 supercharged engine to life. The 2004 Monte Carlo SS is now fully modded and ready for testing. We hit the dyno again to see the performance gains in HP and torque, mileage and also run some performance simulations to see what the new and improved car is capable of! Lots of L67 engine grunt and Eaton M90 supercharger whine in store too!

Awesome series 👏. I did the same but no rockers & I did full e85. Dam good gains sir
Just out of curiosity, by the same do you mean you had the 3.5 pulley? If your boost levels are comparable to mine, what gains did you get from the e85 compared to 91 octane? It never really occurred to me to bother with e85 but it's valuable to know what others have tried!
Hey Chris, found your channel from Salem Doyle. The tuning info you have on his video for hptuners is definitely helping my build out. I put a short video on my channel of my build if you want to check it out. I definitely went a little crazy lol. Looking forward to more videos!
Awesome, I will check it out. I hope to put out a more targeted video in the future regarding how I set up the scan for SD's car.
Can you please clarify- 6 second car? Not trolling just curious. Also a compression and leak down test would be good idea. Just to be sure. Awesome series!
I didn't really qualify that but by 6 second I meant 0-60 in 6 seconds (barely). Not sure if you suspect the same thing as me but I thought maybe something might be clogging the exhaust up. Since I replaced the cat, downpipe and front manifold, it'd have to be... what... the mufflers? I suppose a compression test would also be a good idea but wouldn't that affect the low end too? Getting lots of power there but it seems to choke up top. I'm really stumped by the steep fall-off.
I usually do a compression check before I start any mods just to be sure. My PT GT had 160psi on all four cylinders. Baseline dyno showed 213hp@5000rpm with sharp drop off after that. I knew that it needed plugs and wires. It was clearly startingvto miss fire after 5k. Then I did some mods. Seemed ok but not what I expected. Kept chasing my tail trying to figure it out. Turns out an after mod compression check showed #4 down to 80psi. After inspecting the plug I realized the part of the porcelain had chipped off and went into the cylinder. Beating up 2 of the exhaust valve seats and the impeller on the turbo. It still ran better after the mods and still made 18psi of boost but just didn't run like it should have. Sometimes it's the simplest things.
@@roughboygarage1475 Damn, that sounds similar to what I'm going through. I'd better check it out. Thanks!
Are you getting KR? That's awesome gains, don't get me wrong, but I feel like that car is not at its full potential. I'm sorry if you think I'm being rude man. I'm totally not so please forgive me. It's just I think it could make so much more! Maybe go down to a 3.6 pulley or try E85. I'm assuming that you're running 91 octane premium?
Not at all man. Yeah I'm running 91 and I noticed that the stock dyno (video 2) has crappy hp numbers too and pretty much the same shape curve. So there could be a mechanical issue at play... maybe a clogged muffler or something. I shouldn't be getting KR above 11 degrees of timing but I am so I will need to investigate.
@@ChrisCamaro gotcha. Do you have HP tuners to data log? If you don't the cheap way to data log KR is with a BAXF Bluetooth OBD-2 adapter. On Amazon adapter is only $22 and with the Torque Pro app which is $5, allows you to get live data of things such as KR, coolant temperature, transmission temperature, etc
@@buddyphillips9790 Oh yeah I wouldn't have a prayer if I didn't have either an HPT or a DHP tuner for this car (I have both). I'll do a video in the future about how to set up the layouts for a road scan.
