  • Watch me ride the most interesting 3.3 km of the 9 km long dedicated bicycle and pedestrian path called "The Green Path" (Den Grønne Sti) in Copenhagen, my home town.
This is like a "ring road" for bicycles, as it follows a former rail line circumventing the city about 3 km from the center. The bicycle route connects the neighbourhoods Valby (West Copenhagen) with Frederiksberg, Nørrebro and Hans Knudsens Plads (North Copenhagen). My ride in this video is from Frederiksberg towards Hans Knudsens Plads.
Enjoy the nice and varied parks along the way - especially the last one, Superkilen (12:10), which is an award-winning park celebrating cultural diversity with design elements from 60 different nations!
The video is filmed with a hand-held GoPro Hero4 camera mounted on a Zhiyun Rider-M stabilizer.
The bicycle route is available on Google Maps here: drive.google.c...

A beautiful city, with its parks and its good bike lanes and monuments of the most exotic. For me an example of what the other cities in the world should be, where pedestrians reside and, on the other hand, cyclists. I wish some day we lived in cities where the coexistence between pedestrians, cyclists and drivers was correct and we could all move around our site without disturbing anyone. At the moment that place only exists in Denmark and the Netherlands as I said in the previous video. How always fantastic video and thanks for showing us places of the world.

Thanks for the comment, which I fully agree with. Growing up in Copenhagen, I never realized how lucky I was to live in "bicycle utopia". Hope this and other videos from Copenhagen and Amsterdam can help inspire city planners around the world to follow suite :-)

I love the bicycle infrastructure. I'm living in Singapore now and wish they could emulate this. Is there a car culture in Demark? I'm afraid the status symbol of cars is too high in Singapore.

The car status symbol is definitely a real thing. But Singapore wants to go car-lite, so that's a good start. It could mean that cars might eventually be perceived as something undesirable. As something running against the government policy ;-)

Nothing like being taken back to "barndommens gade" (the street you grew up at) :-)

Copenhagen also has so-called "bicycle super highways" leading into the city

“Bro” betyder jo “brolagt” (“paved”), og ikke “bridge”, vel? (Vesterbrogade, Nørrebro, osv.) Jeg nyder for resten videoerne fra både Kbh og KL, i det jeg lærer så meget om cykelvenlige “town planning” - og jeg har nu også købt en Brompton! :-)

    • @mysustainablefuture
      @mysustainablefuture  6 лет назад +1

Thanks for the comment that Danish street names containing "bro", which literally translates into "bridge", in fact refers to "brolagt" meaning "paved". Good point. I learned something new :-)
And glad to know that you like the videos and have purchased a Brompton for yourself :-)

Vesterbro, Nørrebro og Østerbro var rent faktisk broer, som var en del af befæstningsværkerne omkring København. Søerne er en del af det befæstningsværk. Så det har intet at gøre med brolægning.

You have two contrasting cities. After this one, the other must be quite frustrating, eh?

Agree. There's still some time to go before we get good bicycling infrastructure in Malaysia. But different initiatives are on the way....

I hate to say it, but the weather will put most people off anyway. :-)

I partially agree. Early morning short bicycle trips are okay in Malaysia without starting to sweat. Moreover, electric bicycles takes the weather-factor out of the equation :-)

Hmmm, I suggest we stick to bicycling. No apartment tour, sorry.... :-)
