I have a 90's mtb made of chromoly (great ride, and really durable btw), im gonna look into the name/brand and see how the import fees would be, I've been quite interested in the way bromptons (even fake ones) fold; compared to the other folding bikes, bromptons have a more compact fold, and are usable when folded... Im liking it already.

Great video where it is shown once again that big cities are not made for cycling. Only countries like Denmark or the Netherlands show that it is possible for everyone to live together in the best possible way, whether you are a pedestrian, cyclist or driver.
I would like one day to be able to cycle around my city or any other without having to worry about being run over or having an accident, I hope it won't take too long to see it. Although it seems that there are certain places that are more reluctant to change.
Finally, I would like to say that I am glad to see you again in action in Kuala Lumpur, where cycling through the city is an adventure and a challenge to the urban jungle; )

They know about the problems in traffic but they are still part of the problem. Also too much space taken by metal boxes which is unacceptable.

Hi, moving to KL in a month and I have been commuting to work since 10 years ago which I intent to keep doing it when I am there. Hence, I find this videos very useful and I am wondering if you can help to obtain some guidance on the following questions I have:
    1. Is it feasible to bike commute from Bangsar to petaling Jaya?
    2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a folding bike in KL instead of a regular one?
    3. Do you know the price of a C line brompton in KL?
Hope this is not too much and very much appreciate it for your advice.

Hi Alejandro. Sounds good. Could be fun and interesting doing a commuting video with you with your "fresh impressions" of bicycling in KL / PJ. Let me know, if you would be interested in doing so?
      Regarding your questions:
      1) Should be possible, but the connection for cyclists could be much better. For bicycle route planning, check out the KL Bicycle Map project: cyclingkl.blogspot.com/
      2) Folding bicycle is useful, as you often might want to take a taxi/Grab one way due to rain/darkness/convenience. Besides, bicycle parking can be difficult, so often easier to carry your folded bicycle inside.
      3) Don't know the price, but I think the delivery time is still very long (1 year?) in Malaysia.

I noticed the Mobot Royale she’s riding immediately due to the ODI grips it comes with.
At first I wasn’t a fan of the copying, but technically the patent is no longer valid and it’s perfectly ok legally. Still not sure if the quality of frame and components is up to the same standard though. Either way, it must be putting huge pressure on Brompton.
But having said that, Brompton are still struggling to meet demand, so more good folding bikes being produced has to be better for everyone.

    • @mysustainablefuture
      @mysustainablefuture  2 года назад +1

Correct, the patent expired, si it is a legal copy. The quality of the frame is fine, but I would change to metal pedals, better handle bar grips, better saddle and higher gearing (i. e. change the front chainring from 44 to 54)
