    We need Icelandic on Duolingo!! You could help us with that...

    • @a_random_guy_V
      @a_random_guy_V 6 лет назад +168

      Exactly, they should stop to create courses of imagined languages and create courses of real languages, like Icelandic. I'm Brazilian and it's really hard to learn Icelandic. We need a good Icelandic course, like Duolingo.

    • @user-bl3fo7dz3o
      @user-bl3fo7dz3o 6 лет назад +91

      Yeeeeessssss!!!!!!! I mean, they can’t pull off the old, “but it’s not spoken by a large amount of people”, because they’ve got Gaelic, and two made-up languages. Get your priorities together duolingo!

    • @bruno-zy3dn
      @bruno-zy3dn 6 лет назад +46

      ᚴᚢᚦ ᚢᛁᚴᛁ But it's not duolingo that creates the courses, it is the people who decide to volunteer, so if she wanted she could be one of the people who help the create the course

    • @user-bl3fo7dz3o
      @user-bl3fo7dz3o 6 лет назад +24

      bruno Oh yeah, you’re right. And to think, here we are complaining about how Duolingo isn’t doing its job when really we’re the ones who are supposed to be doing it. (By “we”, I mean Icelandic people, of which I am not) In that case, Icelandic people, what are you doing?

    • @a_random_guy_V
      @a_random_guy_V 6 лет назад +4

      @@bruno-zy3dn yes you're sure. I know that. But I think it's really unusual learn a language that doesn't exist.

    As a Swede I think I could learn Icelandic quite fast.
    My only criticism, you are going too fast. Say the word loud (so we hear it), think the word twice silent (give us a chance to say it).

    • @Neophema

      Grammatikken er en smule mer komplisert enn i de moderne skandinaviske språka, da. Se bare på ordet "enginn" (ingen), som må bøyes i hunkjønn, hankjønn og intetkjønn i alle fire kasus og i éntall og flertall. Puh! bin.arnastofnun.is/leit/enginn But I do enjoy a linguistic challenge! ;)

      Janco van der Westhuizen Maybe, everybody else is actually pronouncing it wrong. And only the Icelanders are woke enough to see the truth. Wake up sheeple! The earth is flat, and 9/11 was an inside job!

      I feel your pain. People say Icelandic is phonetic, and I guess it’s better than English or Norwegian but there seem to be plenty of exceptions like this.
      I think another word that’s pronounced with the LL like in 0 is “bolla” (“bun”).

For the next one, could you say each word realllllllly slowly at first? It's hard for someone who has never spoken Icelandic to hear all of the individual sounds. Maybe once super slowly, then once kind of slowly, then once normal speed? Thanks!
