@@mikel9567 Also you can keep the safety on and do the first trigger pull which will puncture but not fire then turn off the safe and get full power on all shots.
While working corrections we used paintball guns for crowd control. For pepper application we were instructed to fire at structure above the intended target to allow dispersal. @@mehtevas2653 Yes you can, but you cannot proactively arm yourself, you are therefore left to use whatever happens to be to hand at the time and even then the police will demand a reasonable excuse as to why the thing you used was to hand. So for instance, you couldn't keep a crowbar next to the front door because that would be seen as preparing to use it for offensive purposes. Under UK law we are victims by default. The only people who are carrying weapons are the criminals, since they don't care about the laws stopping everyone else from being armed. Sadly there is little appetite in the UK to allow civilians to take proactive self defence measures. If I could afford it, I'd move to the U.S in a heartbeat.
That's how you know those laws absolutely aren't for your safety, when they make most forms of literally just self defense illegal. They pretend to have a point with lethal weapons, but what's the worst that happens here, a terrorist peppers the crowd and a couple people cry? They make this stuff illegal so that you are dependent on the state, no other reason.
I think a CS gel can would be a better bet. The length of time between impact and effect for the balls is sub optimal. An attacker would have more than enough time to carry out their intended actions before being incapacitated.
First of all I never get tired of people testing the Byrna, so thanks you both! second I just want to mention in every test the person being hit all ways knows when it's coming! Some one testing this should have a test where the person being hit doesn't know which one there being hit with to see their reaction to pepper/cs instead of a hard projectile!
Great weapon. . . unless you’re facing someone with a real firearm or any weapon really with the brief delay on the chemical agent. . . or you’re facing someone under the influence of any number of drugs that will cause them to be less affected by non-lethal ammunition. Also we appreciate your sacrifice, Pad! You were an absolute champ.
It's a good weapon unless you're facing a man or some other real threat. If I wanted to attack someone there is nothing they could do to stop me unless they killed me. Not everyone is as determined but sometimes you run into the wrong person and a pepper gun is just going to be taken away from you and used to beat you in the face.

I actually have that same kit. I got mine on a sale day, for 349. And have been carrying it for about a year now. I did get the extention for the 12 gram co2 cartridges. Which makes it a bit bulkier, but does add a little more velocity, and extra round count. With the 12 gram cartridges and a quick reload, I can get around 24 shots per cartridge. The main advantage of this gadget, is it can be carried everywhere, even where a firearm is prohibited. Post offices, bars, and convenience stores where alcohol is sold. They can also be an alternative for those who can't legally carry a firearm. I'm in Texas, and find mine to be enough of a deterant just having it on my hip. And from my experience, even most cops don't really know it's not a real firearm when in the kydex holster I got for it. Now I also carry a P365XL in a cross draw appendix holster concealed. But, if I don't have to kill somebody, it's easier to deal with, legally.
We have a bad time with water moccasins where I live. Tried to use a Crossman pellet pistol in the tackle box to deal with the aggressive snakes. Worked the first time I released the CO2 cartridge gas into it. Next time I needed it a couple months later. The pellets came out slower than spit wads. I wouldn't rely on it to store the CO2 gas for long term based on that experience.
You use a pellet pistol against snakes? That seems like a bad idea because: A) They are hard to hit (that's why snake-shot exists) B) A pellet isn't likely to kill it C) A pellet might make a snake angry D) Water moccasins aren't aggressive
@@BatCaveOz Bat I'm in my 40's, this was twenty some odd year ago. After breaking the tips off of a few fishing poles, trying to get them to piss off. I decided to give the pellet pistol a chance. First time I had to use it. It worked just fine, it had a ten shot cylinder. It's unreliable loss of CO2 power made me discard it for tackle box purposes. I would pick up a cheap 22 short revolver to take up the role of snake medicine. As far as aggression goes. The ones around the lake I spent my young adult years fishing could be. Thankfully it wasn't common. But every now and then.
The main selling point of this pistol (for me), which Mac is apparently unaware of, is that the co2 is not pierced until the first trigger pull, keeping it indefinitely ready in your tackle box. That is, the first trigger pull pierces AND fires the first round, unlike competitors which require a trigger pull only for piercing.
4:40 - The CO2 cylinder does not puncture until you pull the trigger. You can load the cylinder and store it for years if the trigger has not been pulled.
From my experience with airsoft gas, the reason for the relatively low velocity of the balls is the fact that you guys are shooting the gun in cold weather
Read the owner’s manual the co2 cartridge does not get punctured until you take it off safe and pull the trigger also the magazine has a built in Allen key to remove and replace the co2 canister. Btw the kinetic balls hurt like hell
Byrna had taken over a year to deliver the OC/CS pepperballs I ordered. So I canceled the order and got rid of it. Even the CO2 cartridges are proprietary. Its trajectory was not very predictable like airguns, or real guns. So distance shots on moving targets are pretty terrible too. 😕 They kept making promises they didn't fulfill about shipments they would receive at the end of the month was for me next in line "nonsense". They strung me along for many months and kept breaking promises. It they honestly just said that they weren't sure when, they wouldn't have pissed me off. Lies to keep orders are scam company behavior.
Yep I know, that's infuriating. I sent Taurus my Model 85 that broke NIB after 50 rounds in early 2017 or 2018. They kept that gun for 8 MONTHS dicking me around! *8 MONTHS!!!* It was promised 6 weeks turnaround. At the 6 week mark I called and they had no update. At the 2 month mark they again had nothing except to tell me that they only get parts deliveries on a monthly basis on the 1st of each month off a boat from Brazil. At their suggestion, I called on the 3rd or 4th of every month after that for 4 months straight and each time I got a "Nope, we did not receive a Model 85 cylinder and hand this time on this shipment, check back next month." On month 6 after hearing that, I demanded a brand new gun. I said "You know, you guys say you have no spare cylinders or hands, but I know where you can get me one that WAS on that boat...a new gun. This is ridiculous." The lady agreed and submitted a serial swap request. I asked how they'd pay the FFL fee and she said "Oh no, we don't cover that. You're already getting a brand new gun." 🤣 The gun I sent in WAS brand new and broken! Now I gotta pay a transfer fee just to use the warranty? 🙄 Luckily I found a $10 transfer home based FFL and gave them his license info. Imagine if all I had available were these $40 and $50 transfer shops... $50 to get a replacement $250 gun that broke right away out of the box. Ridiculous. Anyway, they said in 2 weeks they'd have it processed and they'd ship the gun out. 2 weeks came and went. Then another 2 weeks. Nothing. I called early on that 7th month and asked wtf the issue was now. They said they never got the license info email. Told my FFL to send it again. 2 weeks later, nothing. Another 2 weeks, nothing. I was a couple days away from calling Taurus to roll heads on the 8th month when my FFL called and said the gun just showed up. So, I made the 45 minute drive across town to get it and the 45 minute drive back home. I literally put another 50 rounds into that new gun to verify that that one wasn't broken too and then sold that damn thing right away without shooting it any further. 🤣 Never. Ever. Buying. Taurus. Again.
@@maledetto1221 What's good about the Umarex: fits many holster vs 1 with the Byrna. Takes standard 12g CO2 carts, which the Bryna can with the HD upgrade. Bad: No removable magazine. Takes a separate action to pierce CO2, which Byrna does on first trigger pull along with firing (shame on Mac for not knowing that). Takes standard 68cal balls (50cal are not standard).
To be fair, in most self defense encounters, your attacker is not going to be wearing protective face or chest protection. Therefore, the Byrna is going to be way more effective than shown in this demonstration video. If the Byrna is treated and thought of more like a can of mace (but on steroids) and not a firearm, and used within it's limitations... It has the potential to be vey effective (with good shot placement) in a self defense encounter. Nothing is a 100 percent in a self defense situation. Not even a firearm, if not used within it's strength weaknesses and proper training. Whatever you use in a self defense situation, fight as though your life depends on it! (Because it just might) Overall, good video. Big props to Pad! Way to go bro! Stay safe and Healthy. Peace.
Fun fact you don't hear the psssss. Because the co2 canister doesn't get punctured until you pull the trigger. They did it that way so you can leave on in there for weeks months on end and not have to worry about the co2 leaking out overtime.
Great alternative to deadly force but I'd like to see the gun in orange or blue to distinguish it from a firearm. (Edited) I checked. It does come in orange.
CS is slower working, where OC is an immediate worker. Most "experts" recommend OC over CS, because you need the immediate effect more than the longer lasting CS.
Thanks for this video. I'm surprised, as I would have thought the pepper and cs gas would have been worse than just the pepper. Thanks for helping us to know better.
The description and look of the pepper compound is similar to what they use at Oregon state penitentiary. My dad used to work in the physical plant and he told me about the stuff, it's a mix of various powdered peppers and a couple other things and then loaded into socks basically, so if inmates start getting to be rowdy they start throwing these around, it burns on contact and stays on the skin and has to be removed with a certain oil, if water is used it burns even more!
The gas tube isn’t punctured until the trigger is pulled, so one can leave the cartridge loaded with no degradation until the need arises. I got one of these for my daughter to take to grad school where firearms are not allowed. I think it is a nice option when firearms aren’t legal or where the person desires other options. It is also useful against unfriendly animals and such. Great product as far as I can tell. PS: we also got the orange version in order to indicate that it isn’t an actual firearm.
I’ve gone thru the gas house (cs) in basic and sprayed with pepper spray (oc) as a deputy sheriff. I thought the oc was exponentially worse… a lot longer lasting and more intense symptoms. I carry oc bear spray as a backup to my concealed pistol. Pad is the man! Great vid!
Apparently in CA and NY you can only buy rubber balls for this instead of pepper or CS balls. Which is literally useless. That would just piss your attacker off, whether it's a dog or a person.
Thank you Pad for being willing to step up and take the brunt of the effects. The one thing that comes to mind with the Byrna system is the form factor. For home defense situations it would likely not be as bad pointing a gun-shaped object at an aggressor, since there are probably no 3rd parties present. However for outside the home self-defense (as evidenced by the holster accessory) I could see an issue with perception that pointing a realistic looking tool (while it is less-lethal not non-lethal) does present at first glance nearly identically to a lethal firearm, so a mistake of fact when it comes to a 3rd party or even the aggressor's perspective could reasonably justify deadly force. I'm not sure if an indicator like an orange muzzle is necessarily needed, since it's not a truly non-lethal tool, but I know of other products that shoot pepperballs that are brightly colored and look much different than a traditional handgun that do sidestep this issue. Great work exhibiting the system and even showing real-world effects.
Probably be better off with an actual paintball pistol like the tiberious TSC, 6 shot magazines, and chronos up near 300 fps instead of 240 fps. The c02 cartridges are in the magazines so each time you reload you are getting a fresh c02 charge using normal c02 cartridges. They are also both .68 cal so the pepper balls will work in the tsc.
Thank you Pad! I appreciate you taking these pepper balls for us. You're tough! Honestly, it didn't seem to effect him that much... I don't think the pepper balls would actually stop Pad if he was intent on harming you.
Thanks for an honest review. I have the Byrna XL and I’ve wondered how effective these would be on a person when defending oneself. The other videos I’ve seen , seem to play up the effects of the pepper and CS. As a military vet, I’ve been in the gas chamber and Pad definitely didn’t react the way it would have happened in Bootcamp. I think this is good to slow an attack, or if a round is placed in the face, I’m pretty sure it’s going to take the fight out of an attacker.
keep in mind, you guys did a very good job of not "rubbing" the powder in. i think a real attackers instincts would be to start "Wiping" at it, which will only accelerate and intsify the reaction. thats why it got worse as you were trying to "clean" your carrier.
It’s stunning that Mac is unaware that the CO2 cartridge is not punctured until the first trigger pull, which is a major selling point. It allows you to store it always ready. (Edit) He was also unaware that the base of the magazine can be used to open the cover of the CO2 compartment. Read The Fudging Manual, Mac.
Was going to comment on this same thing but saw your comment and left it at that. Once punctured the cylinder will go dead just sitting and be of no use when needed.
sorry for the second response but I have one, if you add some oil in the trigger mechanism it shoots a lot smoother and also add the xl version to it so you can use 12g co2 cartridges.
I worked security years ago and the trainer at the company I worked for told us that the first rule of using pepper spray on someone what that you were also going to get it on you, hence the obsession with spraying trainees before issuing them the spray. I would think that a longer-range delivery system like this would be preferable to the traditional aerosol can style.
It would be interesting to see if you could run the specialty rounds through a paintball marker. I’m just imagining dumping 12 balls/sec with a electronic trigger into an agitator, I feel like that would be a deterrent. And with a paintball marker you would get a lot more shots out of a larger CO2 tank. My thoughts on the irritant is you need a much larger dump of the chemical for it to be taken in by the person being shot. That’s why I think having one that dumps 20+ seems more effective. Also when using air powered means you can have select fire.
They appear to be 68 cal so probably. Usually they have harder shells than paintballs. I am almost certain you could. Pepper all guns are basically old tipman paintball guns.
@@SteelCityIceBirds Police at 1 point was still using tipmman C98 for pepper ball, they probably switched to something else. Even it Tippmann reliability of the C98 and A5 are hard to beat.
because the CO2 has not yet punctured until the first trigger pull, is why you cannot hear it when tightening the hex key. A hex head is on the end of the mag so you always have one on hand.
Remember Pepper spray and balls, CS gas effect everyone differently. My FD assist the Sheriff's Office with recruit training as medical support during the academy's. Some Recruits have very little reaction to the OC Spray and others have a really debilitating reaction that lingers.
Doubt a few extra fps would change the results drastically. I'd rather see it's performance is poor conditions than optimal. But your statement is true.
The cap doesn't penetrate the C02 cylinder. When you squeeze the trigger the first time after installing a fresh cylinder, that penetrates the cylinder. Your first shot will not be as powerful as the follow ups. This way it can sit for long periods of time with out leaking the gas off.
Thank you for this Important Demonstration!!! Anytime I would be forced to use a weapon, whether it be "less than lethal" or not, is inofitself an indicator I am in fear of being brutally victimized and/or in fear of my life. Your demonstration clearly showed me, "Pad", was NOT detured, nor incompacitated to any effective degree AFTER being shot with less the lethal rounds, and despite being shot, had sufficient time and the capacity to fulfill his criminal/deadly intent upon you regardless! Not an ideal out come!
Pad, you da'Man. Thnx MAC for the review. I'm an Armed contractor in a bad part of L.A., and i've been considering adding this to my kit. The review was fantastic, well done, as usual. I'm still a little hesitant about the Byrna however. I would like to see the technology get a bit better, ie, higher fps, perhaps more potent and faster spread for chemical balls, perhaps longer lasting co2, etc.. Just dont think the technology is quite there yet for my application. But i will still play with the notion for a while. Thanks again👍
This might be anecdotal, but what I've noticed from my experience is that in a colder and drier environment, gas isn't as effective as when used on a muggy summer day.
Yeah, I would expect him to cripple over. Charging with a knife with an intent to attack, there is so much more to factor in. Drugs, adrenaline to name a few.
I think if hadn’t had the safety mask on so some of that powder could blow straight in his eyes.... might have been different ... not very safe to test that though lol
@@wjbrooks19 Have you seen someone hit in the face with pepper spray? Many of them don't "cripple over", some charge the person spraying them. I don't think it's a good idea if using any type of less than lethal weapon to fire it then hang around to watch what happens next. If you're using this, spray, tazer, or any of that stuff I would beat feet the other way and hope you screwed them up enough they can't catch you. I don't advocate for the use of less than lethal weapons. I carry a handgun, not pepper spray or a tazer for this reason.
The CO2 starts leaking after you pull the trigger... They sell hard plastic training/self defense kinetic balls, biodegradable versions of the hard plastic kinetic balls for training/self defense, pepper spray balls, pepper spray with CS gas, and inert training rounds. The 8 gram CO2 can shoot up to 20 rounds before needing to be swapped, however they recommend swapping the CO2 out after two mags (10 rounds). With the extension, you can run standard 12 gram CO2.
Thank you Pad. Much appreciated. Another reason for non-lethal tools is also the circumstance where you need something to get out of a situation before it becomes life threatening and using something like this is justified, but lethal force isn't, at least not yet. I do feel that a regular can of good pepper would be better than this, for a number of reasons. 1. From what I've seen first hand, regular spray is more effective 2. Carrying something that looks like a gun, but isn't a gun just seems like a way to cause other problems. 3. If carrying it with an actual firearm, there have been cases where a gun has been mistaken for a Taser, with disastrous results. 4. A can of pepper is much easier to carry than a "gun" Personally I carry a firearm and a can of pepper (currently POM OC).
Puncture of C02 is not engaged when screwing on the little nose cap. After loaded Co2 and screwing on cap...You put the byrna in safety mode, squeeze trigger once - now its punctured, this way you can have it loaded with an unpunctured Co2 long term, and with a mag loaded with the launcher on safety, and it won't accidently fire.
The bad thing about a 'gun shaped' non-lethal is that it looks like a gun. Perhaps motivating those around you (other good guy/bad guy/LEO) to use a lethal method against you.
This would be a great option beside the POM Pepper Spray. Especially, for those who live in gun restrictive states and/or are too old to handle the weight and recoil of a firearm.
Thanks Pad, you're a champ! I wonder if the chemical rounds would be more effective if you were to fire it at a person in a more real world scenario, like if an attacker was running up to you. The attacker would be breathing heavier and thus inhale the chemicals deeper through the mouth or nose. I would imagine that Pad might have held his breath waiting for the shot .. just wondering if you would be willing to try it without a mask and breathing it in deeper!

At the height of the ammo crunch, I got into air gun shooting (break-barrel springer rifles, CO2 pistols, etc) as a way to get some trigger time. It started as a hobby & still is, however after buying the Glock-licensed Umarex G17 & G19X (I own the real 9mm version of the Glock 19X), I began using them as a training aid as well as a plinker. The CO2 version fits my kydex IWB holster, it feels nearly identical to the real thing except for a slight difference in the trigger reset, it’s proven very useful to me. You can use a lampshade to defend yourself but not a baton because it's an item "designed for harm". Let's ignore the fact that a lampshade's base can shatter and cause much more injury than anything else, and is useless!
@@timrobinson6573 Thank God we live in the great state of Fla, right Tim? Some poor suckers are not so lucky. I recommend this in ADDITION to your sidearm if you have to roll through a riot zone (we know it's coming when Trump gets back in the WH in '24). Could keep you out of court for shooting the pedo wielding a skateboard.
it's not to replace a deadly weapon its to add to your defense.
if your 1st reaction is deadly force you can be in deep water depending where you live.
Learn how to fight and use this as an extra tactical measure. Also if you get the all black one it looks like a real gun and sometimes the thought of a gun stops people in there tracks
If a individual gets shot with a byrna multiple times they may have to go to the hospital.
Built into the bottom of the mag is the allen wrench head tool to load the CO2 cartridge to loosen and tighten the plug
I'm not a lawyer so could you explain how it would be easier in a Texas court?
Thanks for being a good sport Pad.
That seems like a bad idea because:
A) They are hard to hit (that's why snake-shot exists)
B) A pellet isn't likely to kill it
C) A pellet might make a snake angry
D) Water moccasins aren't aggressive
It doesn't pop the CO2 until the trigger is pulled.
@@BrokeBoy912 that would make sense.
Pad is an absolute BOSS!!! Well done Sir!
From my experience with airsoft gas, the reason for the relatively low velocity of the balls is the fact that you guys are shooting the gun in cold weather
I agree, Using CO2 in Winter = forget it. Even Compress air / Nitro, bellow -10C / 14F the "markers" weren't really reliable enough.
Read the owner’s manual the co2 cartridge does not get punctured until you take it off safe and pull the trigger also the magazine has a built in Allen key to remove and replace the co2 canister. Btw the kinetic balls hurt like hell
Thanks for the info i did not know
Byrna had taken over a year to deliver the OC/CS pepperballs I ordered.
Byrna sells an HD upgrade that allows you to use standard 12g co2 canisters. Adds about a half inch to the length.
Umarex
Standard cartridges and balls, very easy to find online and cheap
I would rather get my tippman 98 paintball gun and shoot the standard. 68 cal. cs balls
To be fair, in most self defense encounters, your attacker
is not going to be wearing protective face or chest protection.
Therefore, the Byrna is going to be way more effective
than shown in this demonstration video.
If the Byrna is treated and thought of more like
a can of mace (but on steroids) and not a firearm,
and used within it's limitations...
It has the potential to be vey effective (with good shot placement)
in a self defense encounter.
Nothing is a 100 percent in a self defense situation.
Not even a firearm, if not used within it's strength
weaknesses and proper training. Whatever you use in a self defense situation,
fight as though your life depends on it!
(Because it just might)
Overall, good video.
Pat, thank you for taking one for the team.
You had a brave volunteer. Good on you man.
Great alternative to deadly force but I'd like to see the gun in orange or blue to distinguish it from a firearm.
(Edited) I checked. It does come in orange.
They offer them in orange. Check their website or Amazon
I've seen them in FDE, black, orange and yellow. Thanks for watching.
Nice glasses. Thanks for the video.
Very fun. Thanks for the demo! Nuclear plant... we had pepperball launchers (tipmann A5's IIRC).
Thank YOU 'Pad!'
Glad to see missionspec getting some love, love the carrier
Thank you for your service, both in the military and for science, Pad!
CS is slower working, where OC is an immediate worker. Most "experts" recommend OC over CS, because you need the immediate effect more than the longer lasting CS.
This.
Cs needs to come from a burning canister and lots of it 👍
Nice spectacles. Someone is confident in his manhood.
Pad is a G!! Big respect to you sir! 🤛🏾✌🏾
Great vid!
I concur. I will take my $40 can of Bear spray over this $400 "gun"
WhatsApp +13312277607..
Yeah but that thing is a lot bigger.
what gun. I come up with scoliosis
Thank you Pad! I appreciate you taking these pepper balls for us. You're tough! Honestly, it didn't seem to effect him that much... I don't think the pepper balls would actually stop Pad if he was intent on harming you.
Thanks! I've never dared take one of these personally so it was good to hear Pad's reaction.
Hats off to Pad for being taking way more than one for the team !
Pad my brother. Very good guy. Thank you for your service.
I think this is good to slow an attack, or if a round is placed in the face, I’m pretty sure it’s going to take the fight out of an attacker.
i guess kentucky ballistics lied about how bad it affected him. that sucks.
keep in mind, you guys did a very good job of not "rubbing" the powder in. i think a real attackers instincts would be to start "Wiping" at it, which will only accelerate and intsify the reaction. thats why it got worse as you were trying to "clean" your carrier.
Cool! I’ve been seeing these pop up in local shops, but it’s hard to find real-world performance info on them. Good video!
Thanks for watching!
@@larryschmidt3594 Like every co2 air gun everyone has ever owned.
Never heard byrna pronounced that way.
sorry for the second response but I have one, if you add some oil in the trigger mechanism it shoots a lot smoother and also add the xl version to it so you can use 12g co2 cartridges.
Hats off to that young man!
A day may come where Mac repeatedly saying balls isn't funny to me. Today is not that day
I worked security years ago and the trainer at the company I worked for told us that the first rule of using pepper spray on someone what that you were also going to get it on you, hence the obsession with spraying trainees before issuing them the spray. I would think that a longer-range delivery system like this would be preferable to the traditional aerosol can style.
When will we see extended mags, red dot sight cut slide, FRT trigger mods, and exploding balls?
i like the pink range glasses they really bring out the color of your eyes
All the guys at copper are awesome
I had the same thought! They appear to be the same caliber.
@@SteelCityIceBirds Police at 1 point was still using tipmman C98 for pepper ball, they probably switched to something else. Even it Tippmann reliability of the C98 and A5 are hard to beat.
It’s just a shitty paintball pistol rebranded.
because the CO2 has not yet punctured until the first trigger pull, is why you cannot hear it when tightening the hex key.
Nothing like a little CS in morning to wake the senses.
Pad is the Shiznit!🇺🇸 thank you for your service Sir! And entertainment!
Pad is a beast, and at the same time I am nowhere near convinced this is the best non-lethal option to protect myself and my family.
8:36 I bet those FPS readings would be a little bit higher if the chrono test were done in warmer climate, especially in the summer.
Doubt a few extra fps would change the results drastically. I'd rather see it's performance is poor conditions than optimal. But your statement is true.
Never knew you lived close to me! Copper custom is awesome!
He was wearing a mask when hit. Watch videos where people without a mask are shot. That pepper fucks you up.
Yup. airsofters know this
That is not your experience, that is basic physics.
@@rustknuckleirongut8107 You don't experience physics on a daily basis?
So it’s not really affective at all. If Pad was a determined attacker he could absolutely still carry out whatever task he chose too.
It does seem to be more of a suicide weapon than any thing else.
@@Militaryarmschannel I can counter argue, but you have good points. Besides, you drive the real point home.
Good job Pad!
Thanks Pad!
Orion flare gun. Loud bang then bright flame.
When I was playing in the NPPL 300 ft per second is Max. 285 is the sweet point for accuracy
Little known fact: Pad is also one of the Greybeards who live at the Throat of the World in Skyrim. Outstanding!
The magizine has a integral hex key for the CO2 loading
Like the old Tiberius Arm paintball pistols / "rifle". It's a nice idea but you "loose" +/- 1 shot worth of CO2 at each magazine swap.
Your video was my decision to buy one of these options
Love it. First trigger pull Peirce's the c02
1. From what I've seen first hand, regular spray is more effective
2. Carrying something that looks like a gun, but isn't a gun just seems like a way to cause other problems.
3. If carrying it with an actual firearm, there have been cases where a gun has been mistaken for a Taser, with disastrous results.
4. A can of pepper is much easier to carry than a "gun"
Personally I carry a firearm and a can of pepper (currently POM OC).
I salute you pad! The effort you go too to give a good review! Lol great video guys just got mine!
Awesome review, thanks
Well made video, great information that was honest and informative, thank you sir.
You should review the XL version of the byrna
Pad’s main concern was protecting the Crown Jewels
He’s an absolute tank!
Thanks for the sacrifice, Pad. This weapon seems perfect for when you need to stop someone two minutes from now.
I’ve been looking at these for a while. Great testing
This is the info I was looking for. so if it sits for three years can I expect it to fire?
will the magazine work?
@@hamfistsman6267 it can definitely sit, I would probably swap it around once per year just in case
The bad thing about a 'gun shaped' non-lethal is that it looks like a gun. Perhaps motivating those around you (other good guy/bad guy/LEO) to use a lethal method against you.
I got the orange one because of that.
To be honest people have been shot for holding a phone by police thinking that they were holding a gun so that arguement doesn't work for me.

Thanks Pad!!! Much appreciated I feel indebted to you. The video would have been horrible without Pad!!!
This would be a great option beside the POM Pepper Spray. Especially, for those who live in gun restrictive states and/or are too old to handle the weight and recoil of a firearm.
The tree huggers will be offended that you harmed that poor tree
Thanks Pad, you're a champ! I wonder if the chemical rounds would be more effective if you were to fire it at a person in a more real world scenario, like if an attacker was running up to you. The attacker would be breathing heavier and thus inhale the chemicals deeper through the mouth or nose. I would imagine that Pad might have held his breath waiting for the shot .. just wondering if you would be willing to try it without a mask and breathing it in deeper!
Today I really saw how expensive ammunition is. shooting with gas lol hard times lol this channel is fantastic I'm always waiting for the videos. the like comes first
Brother I carry one in my 18 Wheeler Truck and last week I pull my clip out in the Truck one of those Pepper Balls broke and let me tell you that stuff hurts great content 👍
I’ve been pepper sprayed (not pepper balled ) and I found that the more ‘aggressive’ or hyper I got the easier it became to deal with the effects, and the more I stood still and tried to Buddhist monk- my way out of it the more unbearable it became. 🤷♂️ I’d probably use a taser gun before this
Tasers are 100% effective 50% of the time. Right now in NWI, most tazers won't penetrate the winter clothing people wear.
Tazers are more expensive for a reason
Man that young man is tough as nails.
Thank you for your service pad heroes are rare these days
Great video and I have always said the pepperballs from byrna are horrible. You should rerun the test with the byrna but use the live x rounds from pepperball. Great video brother and thank you both for taking one for the team.
Great, as usual.
I’m wondering what your thoughts are on this, particularly given the focus of today’s video. Keep up the great content! Love your channel!
They offer an extension that attaches to the front of the launcher. It allows for a larger co2 cartridge
Thanks for the video. I think the chemical rounds would be more effective than the kinetic ones but I'll have to test it out for myself when mine arrives.
thanks Pad
