  • Mick A of www.slotcarcity... shows how to build a Pro drag slot car from the ground up. This video was made in 2010 and the popular thing back then was to add music which I do not do anymore and saves me a lot of time! This is just the 6 min. promo version, the full version is 5 hours long and can be ordered on two DVD's or downloaded from the Slot Car City's web site.

    PLEASE NOTE: This promo video was made back in 2010 and adding music was the popular thing to do by many video makers! The actual 5 hour long "How-to" video we sell their is no music after the intro. My newer videos I do not take the time to add music which saves me a lot of time!

    In the day when I was into slot cars, everything was built from brass plate 16 gauge, piano wire for the rails to take the brass tubing for the axels. For saloon cars, hinged side pans were made, from the above said brass plate. A hinged centre lined drop arm was made, which held the pickup. Great fun to build, and many hours spent with soldering iron and flux. Getting the build to the home town track, for testing, was always fun. As club members would bring their latest builds as well. Then the fun began.

    I recommend using the Weller 50 watt soldering iron with chisel tip. We also sell a drag chassis jig made by Lucky Bob's which is really nice. We sell both of those on our web site (see link in above description area)

    @TheAudiostud Thank you! :) I think most of the views are watched from my web site (see above) and my Ebay Store as mostly demos and did not actually come from RUclips and why their is no comments. It is used mostly for promotion of my full length (5 hour long) video. I am glad that you enjoyed it and I have the full 5 hour long as a download available on my web site for only $9.95! (see under downloads on left side of the web site) and also as a DVD.
    Thanks again; Mick A (Slot Car City)

    hi mickyvegas what kind of solder wire do you use? it is for electronics? the liquid of brush it is flux or glue?

    • @mickyvegas
      @mickyvegas  4 года назад +1

      Hello; Sorry for the long delay in answering your question as I just saw it a year later (LOL) I use the 60/40 Rosin Core Solder and you can use it for both soldering chassis or electronics. I use Lucky Bobs liquid acid flux which comes with a brush which we sell both on our web site.

    Exactly how do you put a turbo on an electric slot car?? Also which one won? The vid only shows them leaving the line and then ends a split second later,???

      You can send them away to get them zapped back to full strength for a few bucks or buy the machine but they're a couple hundred bucks.
