    Very nice, the best video on building a car I've come across so far. I haven't raced slot cars since the 70's but I'd like to get into it if I can find a track in my area. Have you built 1/25 cars from model kits like a 69's Olds 442 or a Chevelle? Are there different classes, like a slower class for beginners?

    Awesome keep it up. We run a very close class with h&r chassis. We have come a long way. Road course we run the 26k motor and foams and nascar bodies . Started out being a 4.4 to 4.5 class to now 3.97 to 4.15 fast lap times. We have about 13 to 16 racers weekly for the class.

    What do you do ina 24 hour race such as I have been in and won. Change the wheels? We used to change just the tyres and used at least three sets in the course of the race. and they never came off Mind you I am going back many years and they never came off.

    Why do you wat front wheels almost not touching wouldnt it be faster to have wheels touching and not chassis touching

    You can get torque drivers for the grub screws to tighten your gears and wheels ?

    Cool video! I've been interested to see you make a video ever since you mentioned making a spring for the pull start mechanism on the TN-26 out of a slot car brush spring. Have any ideas for future outboard restorations?

    Could you elaborate a little more on what you did with the front wheel. What size bit did you use to countersink the wheel?

    • @bigdmc1
      @bigdmc1  5 лет назад

      Matthew Mason Not sure what size I used I just used a numbered drill set and picked a drill one size bigger than the brass tubing that way the wheel would spin freely of course take the setscrew out of the wheel on that side only

    Hi. We race 1/32 scale on a 45 foot wood track. Yup small but fun. Why do you setup you car to race on the guide instead of on the front wheels? Your front wheels don't touch the track. Don't you wear down the braid? And if there is any bumps in the braid it raises the car. I like the front axle trick, will have to do that on a car. Good video.

    • @bigdmc1
      @bigdmc1  6 лет назад

      handles better when it rides with most of the weight on the braids just using the front wheels to touch when it goes around the corner. we use braid juice (oil) to lube the braids between each lane

    Do you have a part number for the chassis and brand?

    • @bigdmc1
      @bigdmc1  2 года назад

      It’s the only Chassis Pro Track makes not sure on model number however the R-Geo chassis is much better nobody runs those aluminum pro tracks anymore

      @@bigdmc1 ok thank you…also can that chassis use brass oilite bushings rather than bearings? The track we run at is very low budget and trying to keep cost down

    I would like to ask if you know how much voltage that track is running on I know that the size and length wouldn't allow enough current flow on 110 v or 120v could you send a reply when your not busy also where can I buy the kit that you built

    • @bigdmc1

      12VDC from "Fast eddies world of speed" in Richmond IN 47330 you can seach for his web site.

    Came by your channel as it was a recommendation by RUclips living in England we are limited to the amount of wooden tracks there are plenty of 1/32 Scalextric style clubs but the brass chassis clubs not so much which is a shame! What was the motor you used in your kit? Thanks for post a really enjoyable production as I always say "Great Work, Well Done"

    Can you help me build a car? I have lots of Nascar model kits and I want to build some slot cars just like yours. I also want to build some 80s style Nascar slot cars I have been collecting models for a long time. Thank you I will be looking for your reply I really appreciate it

      Devin Freeland right now I just do not have the spare time I feel like a stone skipping across a lake right now not really enough time to do everything I need you might try “fast eddies world of speed” from Richmond Indiana, he builds cars and sells them

    It seems you left out a lot of critical steps in your chassis build. I'm not impressed with your video. I've seen more complete chassis build video's. The only thing I liked was explaining how to secure the body mount pins on the body although that could have had more detail. Overall not enough detail. Not enough parts explanation. It be nice if ALL video's like yours listed a parts description and were to get them in your video description.
