I’m apparently the odd ball who prefers the fishing videos over foraging.
There’s a few of us mate. 👍🏻🦈
I prefer fishing over foraging. We can be oddballs together. These videos are great - I like watching them then getting out in the boat and giving the techniques a go.
@@ryry854 I wish I had a boat. It’s shore fishing for me.
@@johndyer9232 Yeah that was me for most my life. Wanted a boat so saved up and got one last year. Worth the effort if you can do it, though with fuel prices it's like spitting gold out the fuel tank haha
Saddest thing about losing SUCH a big fish is not knowing WHAT it was, or exactly how big. Great video.
Painful isn’t it! 😫🦈
@@TheFishLocker what did cox and rawle have to say mate ?
Naah, the activity is called "fishing", not "catching".
🦈It takes some confidence to be that far out at sea on your own fishing for huge sharks, respect.
The calmness of that sea and the clarity of the footage was incredible.
It was as if it was one of those green screens they use for visual effects to be added.
Tight lines!🦈
I love it!!
I can't get over how clear the water is and I'm loving the respect you are showing these fish!!
On a good day it’s hard to beat isn’t it.
Mate, gutted for ya. That was a screamer, by the look of the hook, that was a megalodon 🤣 my anxiety was out the roof when yiu hooked into 2 sharks. Cracking video as always pal 👊
Haha. Two at once I can handle. 3 is very very tricky. 🤣
John ,you're the man ,single handedly catching sharks, love it,.
The sea looks amazing.
I love it!!!
Hi I’ve only been fishing for blues once and as a healthy teenager I struggled just watching this person hold on to a rod with one hand with a shark that can snap a hook. U are a literal god!
Just sharing what I love doing mate. 😊👍🏻🦈
Lovely sunrise ,fascinating fishing ,great way to relax after a days gardening! Thank you for a great evening’s viewing.😘🧑🏽🔬👌
It’s my pleasure Krystyn. 😊🦈
Good man John, said it before but this is the greatest fishing channel currently out there
Thank you very much 😊🦈
Terrific! You manage to bring your adventures to life in such a positive way. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed joining us mate. 😊👍🏻
brilliant channel john super informative and entertaining . your sea shore foraging and diving are absoluteley amazing. icing on the cake
Thank you very much Richard. 👍🏻🦈
Hi John love seeing you on the boat but I was wondering when is the next coastal foraging video??
When the weather allows 😉👍🏻
Lol
In uk when u get chance to fish a mill pond u take it forage in any weather with all the sharks u have tagged this year john can't wait to see the data in the coming year..
I do love a nice shore forage video!
I thoroughly enjoy all of your adventures Sir! Thank you for taking us along! Cheers John, from Texas USA! -Steve-
Cheers Steve. 👍🏻🦈
Amazing to see the hook straightening. Thanks for the beautiful views John!
Amazing but frustrating.
How is it that the sea can be so much more daunting when it’s still like that.. Cheers for the show as always
Eerie almost isn’t it!!
I felt for you there John. Wow! It'd be interesting to hear what C & R say about that clobbered hook! I hope Hannah was understanding about the late return..?? My Best Wishes to the family as always John. Cracking video again.... Thank you.
That’s the first time I’ve ever had it happen. That was a BIG fish.
Really good editing, especially love you including the underwater shots.
Thank you. 😊👍🏻🦈
Great Video once again John,
Ive watched that bit 3 times now and really feel for you on the loss of whatever monster that was.
itll be there for next time
It happens mate. I’ll get it next time. 👍🏻🦈
It wouldn’t be fishing without “the one that got away” and now we all believe you! 👍😁
Haha. Yes at least the video is there as proof.
Great stuff - you make it feel like we're right there on the boat with you. Fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed joining me. 😊🦈
amazing video john . thanks for sharing it . something i would never ever get to see in action like this . love it pal
You never know David. 👍🏻🦈
John, those red gurnard were lovely, the footage in the water made them look like they had wings.
I wonder how big that shark was, I could understand your frustration on losing it... Another really enjoyable upload John, thank you.
Those Gurnards are stunners aren’t they. 😊👍🏻
Wow, great video John! Gurnard are amazing creatures! Only ever caught Tub Gurnard off the harbour at Newlyn, they are so much fun to catch! Thank you for this video! Bought back some great memories!
They are a lovely looking fish aren’t they. 👍🏻🎣
Love seeing the sharks!! It's exciting to watch you bring them in. Growing up in Iowa in the States, I've done lake fishing. Love Walleyes. Delicious eating!
Stunning aren’t they. 😊👍🏻🦈
What a trip you had. Those gurnards were stunning. That shark you lost I guess was a large Porbeagle, but like you said there have been Threshers around, so could have been. To bend a size 12/0 hook like that, and that run it did, that was a monster, and you knew it. Next time bud, next time. Nice big blue as well. Awesome vlog John. You are inspiration for the masses. All the best to you and family.
I’ll get it next time. 💪🏻🦈
Thanks John for this it's my favourite fishing program just love it ♥️
Thank you very much Anne. 😊👍🏻
Well done, John. The big ones that are lost are always remembered. I've caught a few gurnards on lures this year and certainly agree about how tasty they are. I'll check out the 'catch and cook', as I usually just fry the fillets in butter. Thanks again for the video.
They are delicious aren’t they. 😊👍🏻
Well done and many thanks for more great video. Those Gurnard looked amazing. Shame you lost that fish. I was just waiting for you to say '"I'll need a bigger boat!" By the looks of that beautiful sea, I bet you got back petty quickly. Look forward to more of your content. Best wishes, Kev and Co.
Haha. Nope it was still a long steam. Like I said I was a long way out. 😉👍🏻
Fantastic again John , thoroughly enjoyed that🎣
My pleasure bud.
Just another excellent video john.... being used to catching flounder, whiting, coalie, the odd cod off sheilds pier its brilliant to see sharks but also the Gurnard amazing, also it must be very time consuming replying to comments but appreciate it mate cheers and all the best marra 😀 👍
Haha. Yes it is mate. Several hours a day and there’s literally no way to respond to them all.
That’s got to be the calmest sea. So lucky mate. Keep em coming. 👍
Cheers Shaun.
What an amazing sunrise John it’s 40 minutes of blissful escapism for me Thankyou ever so much those Gurnards was good looking fish I have heard they are tasty and looking forward to Jim showing us how to cook em properly. Don’t beat yerself up about the one that got away I think it was a submarine! Hahahahaha cheers again John
Haha. Cheers bud, take care. 😊👍🏻
Great video, always enjoy these, very knowledgeable and does things right, commendable.
Thank you. 😊👍🏻
Really love your commentary. Your retrospective analysis of what happened underwater is always explained so well. Impressed by how good the fishing can be in the UK. 🇦🇺
On a good day here in Cornwall there aren’t many places better in Europe. I am glad that you enjoyed the video. I am simply sharing what I love doing. 😊🦈
Awesome John, love watching your videos
Great content as always
Thanks Andrew. 👍🏻🦈
Thank you John, fantastic as always!
I think I have said before you so remind me of the things I used to do but no longer able.
Glad you can relive some of it through the videos 😉👍🏻
Absolutely 💯 was interested in that one. Omgosh on the edge of my seat watching.
EXCELLENT VIDEO again!
Glad you enjoyed it Julie. 😊👍🏻🦈
Hi John that was a great video, the sea is being very kind to you.
Nice one take care.
It is give and take with the ocean. She gives as you give.
The way you handled the rod and reel during that big fight was right on.
My guess is others here will agree. That was a monster fish!
Chuck
I was faced with 2 options. Run out of line - which was happening FAST!!; or tighten down and try to turn the fish. Sadly it wasn’t my day. But that’s why we keep going back!! 😊👍🏻🦈
Excellent filming 👀 Spot on fishing 🎣👍 Tight Lines.... Keep them coming...
Thank you Pat. 😊👍🏻
Brilliant watch, that shark was clearly of epic proportions. Hope to see you get hooked up to something similar again!
Me too mate. 🤞🏻🦈
Many thanks for the video John look forward to next one take care.
Cheers Keith. 😊👍🏻
Wow, I can sympathise with you on the 'fish that got away' John. To do what it did to your hook & the way it took off with your line, it had to be HUGE, I have NO doubt about that. All that aside, it was a brilliant video & a pretty good day with some very good catches. There was nothing you did wrong, you can't help tackle fail like that hook. Hell it took off like a rocket! Always educational & always very relaxing video. Weep today, back up tomorrow. Cheers, Don from South Aust.
It was only going to end one way or another and I went for the option which held the best chance of landing the fish. Sadly the tackle failed. 🤷🏻♂️
Cheers John, felt so sorry for you mate losing that big one. The speed it went off I thought you were going to be towed around the ocean 😅😅. Amazed it broke that hook…wow! Thanks again for a fascinating video loved the other species you caught. All the best mate. Graham🎣🎣🎣👍👍
Incredible fish wasn’t it!!
Well done John always a pleasure watching your fishing videos best wishes butty 😎👍😁
Cheers Jon. 👍🏻🦈
Crazy session! Im absolutely gutted for you losing that fish John, straightening and snapping the tip off the hook, it must have been a monster! I love watching your sharking sessions, always full of action and excitement! Nice couple of gurnard aswell, they are gorgeous looking fish the camera really doesnt do them justice! Great video as always, all the best 🎣🎣🎣
The camera never does the colours justice but that bit of underwater footage of the Gurnard is good.
@@TheFishLocker it really is 👍🏼
That was crazy, would love to catch just one of those, the fishing down there is just on another level, that was a fun watxh, great fishing as per usual John
Cheers mate. 👍🏻🦈
Great video as always John. Hilarious when you caught the Red Gurnard and said you were going to keep it and fillet it, because at that point the Gurnard was looking straight at the camera with an expression that said "ooer I don't like the sound of that!"
Haha.
Great video as always John! You'll get that one next time!
I hope so!!!
I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Mike. 👍🏻🦈
Brilliant sharking video John , nice looking blues, but as a fisherman you can’t help but wonder where the other end of that hook got stuck 🦈,huge run, sound of the reel spooling 🤣👍🏼.cheers maté appreciate your efforts
We will never know mate? 😫🦈🤷🏻♂️
Porbeagle = bronze whaler with very good dentures and a decent notion of using them. Gurnard = sea carrot or old croaker and one to go for when the chish & fippery has some. Commercially caught sharks usually rig, but the bigger the fish the higher the mercury concentration. Nice video. Col, NZ.
Yeah it’s likely to have been a big Porgie.
What a sensational day's fishing John. Glorious sunrise, followed by those two beautiful gurnard. Sharks a plenty, then wallop! The one that wasn't coming aboard!!!!. I really felt your loss, gutted doesn't say enough pal. Your gonna need meat hooks in future. Great video mate........till next one, tight lines. Arthur.
You win some you lose some. 😊🤷🏻♂️🦈
Top man been wacthing for awhile love the content mate keep it up
Thank you.
Great nights viewing from a beautiful sunrise to the exciting runs you had. What on earth hit you & destroyed that hook, love to know. Thanks for another great video. Take care John 👍
We will never know. 🤷🏻♂️
Beautiful day for it. Very informative thanks.
Useful info & tips just flow !! Shame you missed the biggy ‘Quint’. Stay safe keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It happens mate. You win some you lose some. 🤷🏻♂️🦈
Gutted that you didn't get to witness the hook snapper, but might have been Jaws "we're going to need a bigger boat " moment. Great footage on a Stunning(long) day. Well managed John.
Haha. It was a big one that’s for sure!!!
Gut wrencher when that happens !! Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Absolutely wounded mate!!! 😫🦈
Another awesome video brilliant to watch thanks for sharing
My pleasure. 😊👍🏻
Perfect end to a weekend with a decent watch hope your well bud
Glad you enjoy them bud. 👍🏻🦈
Great John, watching this whilst the humdinger of a storm going. Thank you so much. Regard to family, greetings from Cyprus at 0600hrs 🐟🐟🐟🐟
I hope you guys weather through without incident. 🤞🏻👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker Bless you, John, my dogs are sad as too much standing water to go out, but all good. Love to the family and thanks for all your hard work. 🐟🐟
Hello Jhon
beautiful to see again that you go on the sharks and can imagine the frustration when losing such a big fish I also do not understand how big that it must have been if it sees a chance to break a cox and rawle circle but otherwise beautiful to see that there are still
please until the next video Jhon and tight line,s
I just know it was a very large fish. 🤷🏻♂️🦈
That must have been a real beast and i had to smile when you realised it was probably going to empty your spool !! The first fish i've ever seen you hook , that almost made you panic ! It would me too . Last trip ? I think you've got some unfinished business with the Kraken lol Thank you for yet another great video .
Haha. It wasn’t panic. Just me knowing that things were getting serious. 🤣
amazing video as usual john, ive been a long-time channel watcher and only recently saw some of your old carping videos, and i personally would love to see some carp fishing because nowadays i cant understand anything these ''professionals'' say nowadays, and you always make things easier to understand. cracking 😄
Haha. I do like a bit of coarse fishing every now and then. So who knows. 👍🏻😉
Chillin’ out here in Northern Nevada USA watching my favorite fisherman catch some shark off of the coast of GB.
Too cool! There used to be only telegraph lines out here!!!
Chuck
What a wonderful world we live in. 😊👍🏻🦈
Really enjoy the content man. Love seeing the fishing from other countries. Tight lines bud!
Thank you. We have loved fishing in Texas and look forward to returning. 😊👍🏻🎣
@@TheFishLocker nice! Where in Texas did you fish? Fresh or salt water?
Another amazing video John
Thank you Dawn. 😊👍🏻
Great thanks another sunday upload :)
My pleasure. 😊👍🏻
That is why I watch this channel - great sharking! Too bad we didn’t get to see the monster that likes big hooks straight.
I’m gutted I didn’t even see it.
Wow that's was mental. Watched that shark run with the boys before their bed time! Like watching real life Jaws!
I’m glad it was on camera as no one would have believed it
Nice vid mate, that sea looked like a screen saver, beautiful. Gutted you lost that monster, good thing is though, that it only had a tiny bit of a hook in it which will decay in no time, if it spooled it would have been worse for the fish. No regrets, look forward to catching a bigger one next time mate 👍🎣
Aye mate that is very true. 👍🏻🎣
Brilliant stuff John love what you do and how you do it,bad luck loosing the big one, next time mate.
Thank you Nick and have a great day. 😊👍🏻
Cheers John. Unlucky with the big shark. Porbeagle perhaps. Superb video fella. Thanks from Middlesbrough, up north proper😎😷🐟
Aye mate, I’m suspecting a Porgy.
Hi John, thanks for another "good un" mate 👍.
John I shudder everytime you handle a Gurnard, here in South Australia we get a Gurnard with very painful spikes & the pain from them is the worst pain I've ever experienced. As my mate says about being spiked "You won't die but you'll wish you had". Our Gurnard must have toxins in the spikes that has effects for days, not a nice experience.
We're getting some better weather here now so I'm expect to get out boating myself soon & try some of your methods.
Anyhow thanks again mate, all the best to you & the Family & stay safe.
Yes ours are spikey AF but they don’t have a venom. You just bleed a lot. 🤣
Another great video and looking forward to the Gurnard catch and cook video
Thank you Debra. 😊👍🏻
That sea is like a carpet!. Id love to see you up in my part of the world north Irish sea to see what you can bring up. When we go out in the boat we head to u boat wrecks of the North Coast of northern Ireland. Great video as always enjoy watching them.
Some incredible fishing over that way mate. 👍🏻
Great video as always !!You have to bring James as boat crue next time haha😆I dont think you would landed the monster even if the hook did not bend I think it would spooled you out.But jet again we here stories of monsterfish that has been landed with thin lines and rods that never were ment for big fish so you never know. I understad that you were gutted. Every fisherman knows the feeling you get when loosing huge fish at leest when it's the hook that failes and not the line snapping. You still caught a big blue shark after all and that must have felt good. Looking forward to your next video as always. All the best to you and your family 😊
Thank you Fred, I had a wonderful session with lots of interesting and attractive species caught. It’s a shame about the lost fish, but it happens. All the best and take care. 😊👍🏻🦈
As usual John a great and interesting video. I could see how gutted you were to have lost that big fish, could it have been a blue tuna?
All that can be said is “that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching”. Like you I’ve never seen a hook bend and snap like that. There is always another day. Thanks for the Sunday entertainment.
I’ve had Tuna and that wasn’t a Tuna. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻🦈
The sea looks epic 😍
Stunning on days like that isn’t it. 💙😊
Absolutely gutted for you John . The one that got away😮 be interesting to see what they say about the hook breaking. All the best pal 👍🏻
It happens mate. First time it’s ever happened so I’m inclined to say it’s a one off.
Great video yet again John, I'm gutted u lost that fish
Aye me too bud. 😫
Great video John, was gutted for you with that fish that got away, but those blue sharks are such a beautiful looking fish. Loved it 👍😍
They are stunning aren’t they!!!
Great vid john .Unlucky with the lost fish many sleepless nights ahead reliving the battle .not knowing and not seeing the fish .I guess that's why we keep going out .
Oh yes. That one will stay with me for a while. 😫🦈
Hi john you ok fella, another top watch cheers matey. You deffo no what your doing , i wouldn't have a scooby doo haha . All the best john from GRIMSBY.
Just sharing what I love doing mate. 😊👍🏻🦈
l love your intro , hello good morning etc, pretty cool feature on the depth sounder, live scope, would be very handy. When you said tuna l was looking hoping he'd jump😁. Nice Blue Shark's, l actually hand fed one a while back, it kept coming back, pitty l didn't get a vid of it, loved the vid and look forward to the next one, tight lines 🎣 🐟 🇦🇺.
I love the early start. Sunrise is my favourite time of day by far. 😊🦈
Those mornings (days) on the sea are forever memorable. Nothing else like it. 👍🏻🛥️🎣🐟🇦🇺
Agreed
Great video, sorry for the lost fish. In the states we call the red fish you landed Sea Robins. Some call them trash fish, for me they are great eating!
Tight lines my friend.
I think I mentioned that in the video Bill. It’s a cool name Sea Robin. 😊👍🏻🐟
Saying good night to you John , a great way to unwind.
I am glad that you enjoyed joining me. 😊🦈
Awesome 👌 all top videos Brill 🙌
Thank you. 🦈👍🏻
Absolutely brilliant session m8
Thanks bud. 👍🏻
I feel your pain mate that was a beast like you said a big porgie or thresher I think too. Those are strong hooks too great session tho
Aye mate. First time I’ve ever seen that happen. 🤷🏻♂️🦈
Aww man! I felt that loss from way over here in Ireland. Still exciting to watch the reel screaming and the fight. Sure, that's part of the thrill isn't it? You'll be back for it I'm sure 😉
For certain I will!!!
It was a big one, felt gutted for you, once the drag is tightened down then the rigs we use are put to the test, great vids.
Aye mate. It was tighten down or get spooled. 🤷🏻♂️🦈
Evening John, great entertainment…. I’m just going to quote you, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat.” 😢😅🎉 Have a great week…😊
Hahaha. 🦈
Great video, i did think I was about to see a grown man cry, that must have a been a mighty fish to do that to that size hook.
I don’t know how big, but it was VERY big!!!
Awesome vid and interesting the one that got away I looked at the misses and sed he’s going to need a bigger boat 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Great show John, I am going to be haunted too! I really wanted to see it!!!
You and me both. 😫
What an upsetting miss! I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine how much that one hurt. Don't beat yourself up too much though.
It happens. You win some you lose some. 🤷🏻♂️
Aaaugh! I feel ur pain m8! We all need a "1 that got away" story! Big shark or possibly blue fin tuna eitha way it def was a monster
It wasn’t a Tuna, I think it was likely a Thresher.
Looked like a lovely day to be out on the big blue! Shame that big one got away but there is always next time!
I’ll get it next time 😉💪🏻
