Awesome video cobber brings back memories fishing Hastings beaches and old pier in my teens caught many conger my best was a 64 pounder the old guy who looked after club boats ate conger my dad ate them as cutlets or fillet. Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick

@@TheFishLocker No apology required. It has been a h....va nearly two years for all of us. I am just pleased that your boy has come good after an eventual trying period. ( I spent 14 years working in an ICU in Glasgow and to see a wee boy leaving was always a was big hit. As were other patients of course). Happy days to your extended family.

I use to love fishing for eels down Shoreham harbour only ever caught a few congor eels. Another great video 💯💯💯🪱🪱🪱

Excellent video John. It's been about 30 year since I had a good day on the congers . Also about 35 year since I caught a lead weight on side of the eye due to a conger spinning off the gaff. You soon learn to watch that lead. What's next ???.

They are joint kings of edible sea fish....chessel beach and portland are notorious for turbot, and perhaps worthy of a road trip??

I couldn’t help but notice, the subscriber you took out fished the rod under the arm he was holding the rod with. Maybe this is why he struggled reeling and pumping, maybe next he should try with the rod under the arm he reels from. Might help and make a difference too his fishing! 🎣
It’s a lot to do with technique but also body strength in certain places. Some folks are more comfortable under their arm than others.
@@TheFishLocker yes definitely! It’s all about finding your own way! After a while you find that sweet spot, when everything works in harmony. Going too take this opportunity too say your a boss fella! Not even going into your amazing knowledge of the sea and the fish that swim in it. But watching your videos the past 3 months, I find your fascinating your a very intelligent and interesting man with books full of experience and knowledge. I’d love too spend a couple of days of an boat with you. It would have to be a couple I’d spend the first day asking that many questions picking your brain I’d forget to get a rod out. Your an inspiring man and from the videos an amazing dad!! Thanks for the content
Great video! Can you imagine, I was at the beach yesterday and didn´t wet a line! Tide times were aweful! Full afternoon sun, falling tide on shallow beach. High tide was silly o´clock in the morning and my missus would not be too happy by my banging about getting my gear together :-( This coming weekend we are off for a proper weekend of ONLY fishing! Cannot wait! :-)

i remember my first conger trip, a big eel up from 200ft of water with 30lb nylon ,, cut me off 20ft from the boat ,, next time i did 250 mono with a 6o hook and it weighed 38lb in the boat succsess..
