  • STAN EFFERDING - MATT WENNING ON DEMAND SERIES HERE:
    vimeo.com/ondemand/wenningand...
    Matt Wenning knows the core lifts are the crown jewel to most people in the lifting community across the world. Maxing to your limit and giving the bar everything you have just to prove to yourself where you draw the line is a good benchmark to set. Well what if we at Wenning Strength told you that this goal is good, but not the place where the rubber meets the road? We're pretty sure you would disagree, right? In this video Matt Wenning goes over how to boost your gains with accessory work using the repetition method!
    In this video we cover what the Repetition Method is: using sub-maximal weight for longer periods of time until fatigue. Motor Units not used or exhausted are not properly building, this is key in the implementation of the Repetition method.
    Tempos: Using speed to slow or quicken a movement pattern to effect muscles in a different way avoid the law of accommodation.
    Timed Sets: Moving your body under tension with a set time will allow you to work on your GPP but also hit muscle groups in a ways that max effort and similar methods cannot.
    Failure: Using your accessories with lower weight until failure will push your body to use all of the energy is has for the movement, allowing your to hit a threshold that maximizes your time in the gym AFTER the core lifts!!!
    Chaotic Exercises: Using weights that are not stationary makes us use our stabilizers in all muscles groups, this protects us while also giving the advantage or more transferable strength at odd angles (key for all athletes!!!)
    ALSO if you want to reach the next level find out how to fuel your body. Matt and Stan Efferding went in on nutrition on another video we just released. You can see exactly what The Mountain and Brian Shaw were eating to dominate the Arnold Classic 2019! Watch the video here for more information:

    So Matt, I remember the first time I seen you speak of the timed sets. My first thought was there is no way that weight is heavy enough to do anything. Soooo I went for the 60 second sets. I literally cussed you out loud, it hurt so bad, my skin turned purple blotchy marks whatever that means, and long after I left the gym I was in Kroger, an I was getting head turns and one verbal compliment on my arms. Bravo sir

    Hey, Matt, after experimenting with 2rm up to 5rm on max effort day, my 1rm went down! Any tips on how to program it?

    • @jacoblamarre1591
      @jacoblamarre1591 4 года назад +2

      Yeah for a max effort day I prob wouldn't go for more than a 3RM because anything higher than that is starting to get into a combination of strength and hypertrophy rather than raw maximal strength, stick to heavy singles-doubles-triples on your max effort days and save the volume for a separate training day.
