Awesome, thanks guys :)
Later on if you could add the big deck and cover patio around your house , it like your barbecue dining outdoor , that would be awesome, your house turn to small mansion with an amazing view , I love your Chanel,SUBSCRIBED
Jeremy, Ashley, and Sam. Know them well! Lol
Not a fan of mbf. Using his wife as clickbait. We’ve seen so much of her, we’ve all had her. No wonder she takes the prozac.
@@MrSrtman18 you really don't need to try and get personal about them, you don't know their story. And besides, in case you haven't noticed, there's alot of skin, specific camera angles, and flashy swimsuits on RUclips other than his wife. Js. Keep it civil
The loooong cinematica plus the music is very relaxing it’s like a happy ending in a movie
The team has successfully completed the build CONGRATULATIONS TEAM FOR YOUR TEAM WORK!
Great job putting the windows in Greg and Katie
"I believe the saying is measure twice, cut once"🍁🍁🇨🇦
I have been chuckling for quite a while now "Measure Once Cut Twice!"
😅😅
"Measure once, Cuss twice!" A sign I saw in another woodworking video a while back!
it takes time guys that all i can tell to build with just the 2 of you take time and I know your ready but hang in there ok
YOU BOTH ARE SO AMAZING is there's not anything you TWO WONDERFUL COUPLE CAN'T do BECAUSE YOU really doing SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB AMAZING VIDEO
Wow ! How beautiful snow in wonderland, your house looks very nice the picture windows I old sit with a cup of coffee ☕ or hot 🔥 chocolate 🍫 and watch the beauty of the ❄.
Damn Skippy, "Bob's your Uncle" yeah ha!!
I admire you (from France) for the mountain of work ... and in the cold!
So glad you guys got your house 3/4 closed in for the winter ❄️❄️❄️.
You guys don’t have to make explanations, just keep the enjoyment on our end coming.
your doing good Greg we will keep watching you your only two people doing it so dont worry you will get it done eventually hey
Can you do a slo-mo aerial montage of your property so we can see exactly what you have done. It all looks great, but would love to see how it all connects together.
Best of success getting your house closed up and stove in!!!
I've been subscribed to MBF , for a couple of years. they are a great couple, and I found out about you guys, from them.
You guys are doing great…don’t get discouraged…. You guys will be insulated in no time. Thank you for content
Honestly, I look at some of ya'lls work compared to alot of others, and can't find fault with anything. Life is a learning experience, we make mistakes, we correct them, and learn by it. There is no right way or wrong way, everybody does the same thing differently. Do your best, it'll come together, grow with it. Love ya'll ❤
It takes time to build your home...sometimes longer than anticipated but one day when you are finished...you will both stand there and say: "did we really do that"??? Yah darn tootin you two did. I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving and God's blessings to you all.
Sick music intro .., as always the music is spot on❤️
If we could play what ever we want our playlist would be mega. Katie and I are music junkies.
Hang in there Katie! Get er done Greg, you guys are doing great!
It seems like only yesterday framing the decking, here we are in this winter wonderland but that's OK, never look back! There will be more happy tomorrow's ahead. Nice to see you guys getting it all together now, great job. Live and learn right? The only mistake I can see is, "Measure it twice, cut it once" NBD. Work smart, avoid injuries. Stay happy & healthy..love you guys.
You two have the perserverence to succeed. Yes, it's taking time but it's coming along great. I have watched MBF but your videos are in my view much more enjoyable
I have been subscribed to MBF for quite a while and am enjoying their content. You came up on my feed a couple months ago and have been subscribed and watching your build. I am trying to catch up on some of the older stuff also.
your drone shots add a lot to your video's !!
Katie , by the time your done with the build you are going to know all the carpentry lingo . The Mountain View is awesome. 👍👍😊
You guys rock, and yes greg you are " Beautiful " as well..lol
Great video Greg and Katie
Looking great! Your doing awesome glad you cut the house wrap away from the rough opening! Toasted Cheese dipped in soup so awesome! Yummy!
Winter has arrived! Here in San Francisco CA it's freezing! No more heat! COLD
Great intro, lovely music 🎶, beautiful scenery.
You are making serious progress. Great job...
You two are doing a fantastic job! Love seeing the weekly progress :). I learned the window thing the hard way myself, except mine was framed smaller than the actual dimension. Nothing some hack saw couldn’t solve, after a lot of cursing. Since then, I only rely on my own actual measurements as opposed to what the seller said. But something tells me this is not going to happen to you guys anymore :). Keep it up, and soon you’ll have that stove burning hot! Thanks for the great videos!
Y'all need some big suction cups to put on the windows when installing them. Y'all are doing awesome working together.
At 6:29 in the video while Katie is explaining the prep, you can see a significant gap between the plywood wall sheathing. It goes the way around. That will not be good for air infiltration.
Happy movie and good vibes 💪😀👌
Looking good guys, have a great weekend :)
Thanks, you too! Looking forward to seeing you walls go up
"Still doing this " is proceeding in the correct direction ...keep it up..
Hello my fellow British Columbian 👋 MBF sent me to your channel 😀
GREAT JOB GUYS JUST GREAT
Great jobs guys! Perseverance and hard work wins any day👍 Very impressed how well you two work together👍 It’s called love and friendship! B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
my friends at MBF sent me over. Keep up the good work, I am from Kansas City Missouri
Just came over from MBR homestead. Looking forward to watching more
Guy's it looks amazing 💞🤩
You'll get there soon just keep up the good work
You are geting there guys come on 👌💕
It must feel so good to get the windows in. It is looking good. It can't be easy when it is so cold out so well done for persevering.
I love seeing your vedion. Both of you work so well together. I love that.
Hang in there. With so many jobs and being pulled in multiple directions it is very understandable that some thing will get missed. So sorry that window was not as advertised. That is so unfair. Sometimes life does that. You can and will overcome the problems. Be kind to each other. Kindness and compassion are always best.
MapleberryFarm sent me over to say hello Hellooooooooooooo! I hope you're not in all the flooding.
Welcome! We are all good and somewhat dry (just a little bit of rain)
Love your land. Drone shots were great
I dont like videos with just music and natural sound. The more they talk, you can relate to their experience. Communication is what actually succeeds, put more of your opinions while you are doing stuff. " explain what you're doing". People want to listen. If you talk people will listen, if they dont like the music they click off your channel. Good luck to you all.
You both are doing great. Keep the hard work. God bless you.
Things taking longer than you think is very common
lots of hard work good job
A paint stir stick is great for installing backer rod. Aka the foamy stuff.
So much hard work / inspiration! Thanks again for sharing.
Нестерпимая боль души от красоты природы этой.
Great job! I know the setbacks are frustrating, but you should be so proud of yourselves! Braving the cold, snow, wrong window size, frozen water & you just keep plowing through! It’s going to be AMAZING!! 😎
You two are doing a fine job...I like it...
:) Your getting warmer
💫 all will flow
Jeremy and Ashley suggested you guys! Hello...
It’s OK guys…I think the house is coming along very nice. I know it is very difficult work and I think your doing a Great Job, hang in there !
Hi Katie... You guys seem to be doing well, and I'm so glad 😊.
Making good progress...and I understand, while you work on this huge project, life goes on with all it's requisite details and responsibilities.
For us...medical disability and forced early retirement drastically affects income, but his entire financial package comes along simultaneously, and with it the debt and monthly obligations, as if career was still going on. It's shocking..
For you guys ..same thing in a different context. It's time that crunches for you ..
You seem to be very good at time management and priority setting.
It's wonderful to watch you both excel..
And overcome each challenge.
Hang in there... And remember, it's the journey, more than the destination!
Luv you guys.. ty for sharing..
Don’t forget to drain the water out of your clothes washer pipes before it freezes.🥱
You guys are getting there won't be too long and you'll have it all under roof then no more running helter skelter getting normal every day life stuff done👍💪🙏✌
Hey new subscriber down here in melbourne Australia love watching you guy plus you have the best sound track wicked tunes
Run a cake of some across the tip of the nails before you put them in the nail gun and you’ll find the nails will go in further. 🇦🇺
making progress each video. may not be as fast as you want, but it is coming along. you two are awesome. thanks for the video.
Keep up the great work!!!
The home is comeing together guys. Love ur guys videos. Ur awesome ❤️❤️❤️
I really appreciate how you make mistakes. Everyone does when they're learning, but you don't waste (video) time beating yourself up about it. Classy.
Excuse me if I ask questions you've already answered. How are your liquid & sticky materials behaving in the cold? I saw you warming some sticky sill wrap before applying.
Your build seems small which is great from an energy usage POV. But it doesn't look like there'll be room for "family expansion." Apologies if this is too personal a question, but are there no plans for children? No judgement from me, I only raised step children.
warming up the blue skin helps it stick. some of the caulking we used didn't set, but we have also been holding it over the heat which helps it kick off. Its definitely a challenge working in the cold!
no kids for us, so the house will be plenty big
Missed this on the weekend. Catching up now. Hey i like the way your using roofing materials for sealing up your windows. Insulation on outside is different. Do you need to add moisture protection right away? Hey I followed MBF for a while but they changed their style to much for me. Chickbaiting thumbnails were the end. Just saying. Thanks for the video and it doesnt matter how long it takes do it right. Hurry causes crappy work and poor long term outcomes during a build process.
The exterior insulation almost completely eliminates thermal bridging through the wood framing. It's also pest / sound / and fire resistant, not to mention it adds more insulation value for our home. It was a no brainer for me to choose!
Good job
Amazing build !👍
Good work guys! I know the feeling - all ya can do is keep on keepin’ on! ✌️
Looking great as always guys! In my 30 yrs of construction more than a few times I've got to the jobsite and told my crew "yup, we're still doing this!" . Sometimes that's just the way the ball rolls. I don't know how far behind your vids are but we're staying above zero for the next week here in the trail area , hopefully that helps thaw ur water line. Stay safe! 😁🇨🇦🔨
We're basically up to speed, that was last weekends work
@@ThisOffGridLife Good to hear!
This Off Grid Life = TOGL
Maybe you already have it, but I love the idea of a TOGL sweatshirt logo...
We have merch on our website, two different logos. Not TOGL though

Oh man. We built rabbit tractors recently. I messed up the measurements not once, but twice. 🤦♀️ my husband said "this is why we measure twice". At least I'm learning the lessons now, before we start our off grid home build.
It was real nice of you 2 to give a shout out to MBF. Since they have more subs they should be giving you a shout out as well to get more cross subs for y'all. Both of your channels are great fun to watch.
So interesting to see sliding glass doors with 2 moveable panels. In the US I have only ever seen a stationary panel with on opening panel.
Great job guys! Keep smiling! Rome was not built in a day, go at the pace you have to, then it feels better, no rushing. Hope you got the glass in the correct size. My hart melted when you said no water, and… wood co7ld be a shortage, man! Just not fair on you! Uk going into very cold white period . Keeep smiling! 😊😊😊😊
Nice to see your progress. You're one stage farther along than we are with our off grid build in North Central BC.
Looking great guys. Hope your having a great weekend. John & Sheri
Awesome video by awesome people doing an awesome job :)
Good evening watching from Ontario
Learning by doing.
Was watching MBF and you before I know you were connected
awesome. We don't know them personally (we're on the other side of Canada) but its nice to build a community of youtube creators :)
You might not be dried-in but those drone shots of snow on the roofs sure look good. Hold out for the window you want - big fixed glass is pretty great in every way but for bird strikes...
You folks should watch some videos by Matt Ressinger or something close to that on youtube. The points about thermal transfere and airtightness. I could see long gaps in your sheathing that could be a real efficiency killer if not addressed before moving on. Otherwise, thank you for sharing!!!!!!
Looking good, I have been subscribed to MBF before they built their first off
grid,,, Liking this 2nd build so far.
looks great you guys :)
I would suggest tying the bottom of your extension ladder off as a safety precaution ( if the bottom of ladder kicks out that would be a bad two story fall with a window in your hand )
I am so impressed that is something I haven't seen before. Will you insulate the inside too?
yes we will insulate the inside too, its just an extra layer of insulation to keep warm/cool
You guys are Killin it! Happy Holidays!
Great job things always take longer than planned,it's ok.😀
As always Great Video ! Perfection takes time !
Good Morning and it is better to take it slow and get it right the first time. You both are doing an amazing job. 😉
Thanks
