    Hi Phillips, I'm new to needle felting and I'm so glad I've found your you tube channel. I've now learnt that the roving wool I've been using isn't what I should be using. No wonder it was taking me so long to finish my felted stars! I'm going to order some carded wool from Claires Craft Create website as you have recommended in another tutorial. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and inspiring us beginners 😀

      No problem, this is exactly why I make them as I had all these questions in the beginning. Glad you like them and you will love using carded wool! X

    Can't wait to make a garland. Once I get my beginners kit. Might even be my first attempt at needle felting. Hope my attempts end up as good as yours.

    This is a great video, I've never done this before and I'm thinking about giving this a go, what kind of string do you use? 😊🤩

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Год назад +1

      I just used a thick waxed cotton as my needle wasn't that big, if you have a needle with a good sized eye, you can use a thicker thread, thanks so much x

      @@feltsbyphilippa what’s funny is that they think they’re slick and can get over on us, little do they know we invented the game 🤣
      Besides all that, I just got my first kit after binging your videos all day yesterday!! I’m so excited to try this, and your tips are so helpful!! I would have been lost without your videos, I got a one-page print out for directions with my kit lol

      Some kits are really unhelpful, it doesn't take long to do better instructions, hope it goes well x

    Is there something to be said about using core wool for the middle and cover with the nicer colored merino wool? I want to make a garland for my baby's room so want to make the more expensive wool last longer :).... also I really enjoy your videos , they are extremely helpful!

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  3 года назад

      Absolutely you can, here's my video on core wool if you haven't seen it. The only thing is the item you are making is thinish then it will take you longer, that's all, thanks so much for watching my videos x

    When you do the balls how do you know how much wool to use to get the balls the same size? If you just guess the amount of wool surely they will be all different sizes? Same for the shapes 🤔

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  9 дней назад

      So if you get a small scales, they are about £5 or so, 2g increments is best, then weigh the amount out before hand so they are all the same. However, you can buy felted balls from certain wool suppliers or you can wet felt balls too which will save you some time xx

    What do you call the wool that you use? I would like to buy some, but I am not wanting to buy a kit every time I will need wool.

    Wow! I wish I could make a garland in 30 minutes! It takes about 40 minutes per shape to get it firmly felted 😕.

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  4 года назад +1

      I don't make them too thick and using a big needle first just gets the wool felted quick, then a fine needle makes it neat, plus carded wool is easier, roving or tops takes absolutely ages to felt! x
