I see that the Nightlords omnibus left quite the impression on you. Who can blame you, they are quite cool. I agree on Decimus but Honsou? Dunno man. A Huron novel is coming up, I hope its good. @@matabishippuden6965 I dont think we ever actually saw him die. He was captured by the Imperium, and the Nightlords all think he's dead; which is fairly legit for them think. @@matabishippuden6965 IIRC Sevatar was taken hostage by the Dark Angels at the same time they captured Curze and was imprisoned in their fortress The Rock. Whilst Curze made it off The Rock (I don't recall how) Sevatar remained imprisoned. He made a brief prison break where he kills an astropath on the Rock to protect a young girl who was beaten and mistreated by the astropath, but is quickly after recaptured, I think the story is the 'Prince of Crows'. From there his fate is uncertain... some fan theories pose he was one of the founders of the Grey Knights, but the most accepted theory is that he was tortured to death on The Rock at an indeterminate time.
I’d say the only downside to Huron being a leader of all the Chaos marine forces is that he isn’t from the original legions. Which doesn’t seem like a big issue, but CSM are a bit of a prideful bunch. If I remember correctly there was even a short story of an Iron Warriors general hearing stories from other CSM war bands to get his favor and a lot of captured gene seed or whatever and he got livid when he learned none of the war band leaders were even from the original legions like he was.
Hey Majorkill! A Border Prince recently released a reading of "Excecution Hour" which is a pretty good story. I think the blackstone pillars are mentioned. Or maybe that's the doom of Mymera?
Whoa, TWO Night Lords characters. I see that the Trilogy definitely made an impact on your views on the 8th Legion. Personally, I'd rather see Decimus and/or Sevatar unite the Night Lords, but my vote for overall Warmaster goes to Huron. Sure, he isn't an original Veteran of the Long War, but he has the tactical chops to really get things done. And Night Lords don't really "play well with others". Ave Dominus Nox
I loved reading about Argel Tal. Most readers would probably agree that he's the most badass WB in the lore. But... Warmaster? He didn't like the truth of Chaos. He hated what the traitors had become, almost as much as he hated the Imperium. I don't think he would've cared for uniting and leading all of the traitor legions. To lead thousands of aggressive, evil marines you need some fire in you. Despite the demon in him, some followers would've despised him as not being devoted enough. And when evil marines despise each other, killing will come naturally. When killing starts, sides are chosen and unity breaks. Edit: And Argel's destined death wasn't at the hands of Sanguinius on Terra. He thought it was, because he was destined to die, 'under great wings of the Imperium' [para], which he did. Read his death scene again. What's one of the last things he sees?
@@Spirultima Oh that was beautiful, I was fucking raging after reading that part in Betrayer where Erebus backstabs Argel, which yes to be fair, makes Erebus a very well written villain cause you want the fans to fucking hate your villain and want him dead and that's where the fanbase is at with him, hate the character, love the writers
@@thatlonewolfguy2878 Yeah, he's given respect in his competence throughout, adequate motivation and the correct amount of respect from the character themselves. Makes for a great villain, and the satisfying "comeuppance" he got.
I think I disagree with this. Yes, Argel Tal disliked the truth of Chaos, but that could be said about the Night Lords characters listed as well. The difference is that Argel believed it to be necessary and embraced that need. He was also the only one of the WB who still followed Lorgar's vision for humanity. And like the Night Lord characters, has a very deep hatred of the Imperium. All that being said, I've always wondered by Chaos never embraced and followed Lorgar. Since, you know, he is literally the chosen and prophet of all 4 of the Chaos gods, the most charismatic of all the Primarchs (Horus was the better politician), and is a Primarch. Never understood why the Primarchs tolerate taking orders from a legionnaire.

@@Ihavethetouch There was one fanfic that have Black Legion under Abaddon (recently formed after the Horus Heresy) being sent to Star Wars universe where they're involved in the Clone Wars.
Daddy Argel would probably make tons of people join Chaos, a total bro. Decimus would be my pick, able to unite his legion, able to see the future and not under the control of a single chaos god. Sevatar was a badass. Honsu is an interesting pick, but the fact is that he couldn't even stop his legion's infighting. I fear the fact the Huron served the corpse emperor only a few centuries ago would probably be a big problem for any of the chaos veterans, it would take some time. He'd have to prove himself, his ability and his dedication to the cause for a long time.
I get the rough feeling one of these guys is going to kill and over throw abbadon the disappointment and become the new Warmaster of Chaos in the future.
I always thought peturabo returning to become Warmaster could work. I'm not super caught up but last I heard, perty still has a chip on his shoulder from the horus heresy and he has the strategic ability to lead an entire crusade in a way that would be threatening. Plus with the imperium getting a primarch as a leader then it's only fair chaos gets a primarch to do so aswell to tip the scales back into their favor
@@MrFallenone Well, maybe without Horus beeing in "charge" the other forces will listen to him for once xD Though it may get difficult for perty to get the support of his brothers

@@SerKawlin yeah. Sadly yes. But he died in like M41.300 or something, so he could be a warmaster for almost 10 000 since ths Heresy and someone else could replace him afterwards.
What about Malos Vrykan, from BFGA2? Yes, I know he isn't canon, but Malos is at least a bit witty and while he is evil for evil's sake he is far more likable than Failbaddon the Armless
This is where MajorKill's youth and inexperience shine through. He made a video on where he gets his info, but if he actually read The Talon of Horus and then Black Legion he'd know that Ab is good enough. It's all a matter of perspective so you should check out Ab's before you judge. If the great genius, Aaron Dembsky-Bowden, can make the Nightlords cool imagine what he could do with the black legion.....
I've read The Talon of Horus and The Black Legion both, and no Abaddon is not good enough. Those are some of ADB's weakest works imo. Khayon is a Gary Stu made worse by the fact we've never heard of him before then. Secondly, Abaddon is just good at everything because......reasons? And his vision is just not compelling enough for me to buy the fact his is the largest legion. The novels dismiss entirely the idea that Chaos corrupts and these Astartes don't care anymore about brotherhood or honor but their own interests which is either the same as the Great Game, or power in the case of the Night Lords and Iron Warriors. Plus, the series never addresses the fact that in even the earliest Horus Heresy lore, Abaddon was the one to order the retreat from Terra after Horus died. Also, the Sons of Horus were nearly made extinct during the Slave Wars because the traitor legions all blamed the Sons of Horus for their defeat. Why would any of them, even those who did crave brotherhood, follow the First Captain who made them lose the war the first time? Abaddon's rise to power happens because Black Library needed it to happen, not because it actually would in the setting.
@@ashemcclure9848 The series isn't over yet..... The whole point of those two books was the show how crappy of a starting position Abby had. The end of book 2 shows the first "great crusade" that's just a shattered strike Force that has to rely on raiding. The reason why it's good is because it shows the traitors does having an incredible depth of character that makes them very interesting. Abby didn't lose the war, the traitor primarks did. As far as ordering the retreat from Earth, at this point in the siege of Terra series think about what traitors are left. Perturabo peaced out, Magnus got banished, Lorgar wasn't allowed to go, kurs didn't show up, fulgrim is off indulging instead of helping, Mirtarion was defeated by Khan, who knows what Alpharius is doing, Angron gets banished by Sanguineous and Horus is dead. Meanwhile, Guliman, the lion and the wolf are on their way. Face it, Abby lost before the retreat was sounded, just like he never had a chance with the first "great crusades". Secondly, it never said that the sons of Horus were the largest, it said the black legion eventually was.
@@necrospoon That's another issue I take with Abaddon. He blames the traitor Primarchs alone for the failure of the Horus Heresy, which to me comes across as very convenient. So wars are won/lost by generals alone then?
@@ashemcclure9848 they're not just generals, they're demigod fathers. And a timeline that takes millennia this is a coming of age where the chaos legions are either abandoned or abused by their fathers and Abby is offering brotherhood and purpose.
I really want Abaddon to die and have an area of the galaxy or a book called “Abaddon’s Demise” it will be interesting to see like a huge blank area of the 40k map with nothing written but “Abaddon’s Demise”.
The only traitors capable of being true warmasters at this point are Magnus and Perturabo. Both are inteligent men, who still have some control over themselves. Lorgar is a coward, hiding away from Corax, Angron is the failure he always was and Fulgrim.... Is there too. Alpharius and Omegon are dead....maybe.
I think it would be pretty neat if Abaddon got murdered in a duel with Guili the Man, resaulting in Abby’s permanent death and revealing an immensely more powerful super chaos dude that forces Mr. G and his Utah Marines to retreat. Maybe this villain could be an Undivided Traitor Primarch or mega daemon or new chaos god or something else that’s less powerful but equally cool.
The guy who merged with a demon honestly seems like the most amazing pick, or at the very least should've ended up leading a rival chaos sub-faction. Humanity becoming capable of legitimate symbiosis with if not outright controlling demons rather than being their puppets and playthings sounds like an unironically cool thing to try and achieve, and he could've led a faction where members actively do this and so are low on numbers due to most failing but make up for it with the sheer quality of their fighting ability, maybe complete with them actually wanting to spread this high risk high reward way of doing things because they believe that the losses would actually be worthwhile for what the survivors would be capable of.
Abbadon quirks an eyebrow and looks down as the daemon sword shivers in its scabbard! Abbadon. “What vexes you old friend?!” Drach’nyen. “……okay, look it’s been 10,000 years and 13 Black Crusades. Sorry but, I think we should see other Warmasters.”
I fucking love Sev. He needs more lore That bit in the dropsite massacre where Kurze tells him Corax is heading his way and he is like ‘yeah np mate’ was badass
In my own lore I replaced Abbodon whith a Demon Prince Almangone. but he wishes to embrace of aspects of chaos; be it khorne's honour, slaansh lust, nurgle's toughness, and (forgotten how to spell) tactical. He has direct contact with the gods. And does what they ask. But he wishes to please them. And that all he wants. Power wise he faces off with Drago (Grey Knights.) And fair well. He has a weapon call the God fury, it got a different thing to present the God. A staff of change god. An axe blade for khorne, scythe blade for nurgle and spears tip for horny god. I making lore for him but this is a bit long
Bro you made me search, I knew the name but didn't remember who Galbatorix was. In fact I first thought it has something to do with Asterix and Obelix.
Honsu's gene seed was harvested from an iron warrior known as the Honorable Sulaku (I spelled that wrong, but close enough.) Sulaku was murdered by Fabius and Lucious during the joint Emperors children and iron warrior expedition to the eye of terror, the bottle holding the gene seed was burned and the words Honsu was left.
I really Enjoy the way Majorkill makes his videos, He doesn't just complain about stuff he doesn't like in the setting, he researches and provides his own solutions, its super enjoyable
Also a thing to note, Huron knows the Codex Astartes and therefore has knowledge of their tactics and operating procedures. Know thy enemy or something like that.

i hope we eventually find out about what happened to sevitar. i dont expect him to be alive but it would be cool to know what happened to him. thinking of other characters we didnt hear anything more from, there was the last lunar wolf found in stasis on a ship who was shocked by the fate of his legion, the beacon man from the imperium nihulus the alpha legion stole, theres also that test subject discovered in an abandoned mechanicus facility who killed everyone and ran away on a ship and lastly what happened to the twin of alpharius? there are alot of plot threads they could continue.
One dead Marine who could do it too is Forrix. While he wasn't the greatest fighter, he was a near Guilliman level logistician, I deffo think he could lead chaos better than Abby. If I am allowed to pick one of the aligned Marines, I do geniuenly think Typhus would make a great warmaster. His influence within the deathguard Rivals that of Mortalion, A FUCKING PRIMARCH.
Great call Forrix was a great character, the way he organised the siege of Hydra Cordatus was impressive, i loved that they included him in the horus heresy series, but i keep hoping one day it'll turn out he somehow survived his encounter with that warhound titan
@@darko-man8549 As far as I am aware Forrix initially showed up in the classic 40k novel Storm of Iron (A real page turner, I recommend it) he then was was showed to be one of Perturabos top guys during the Heresy (He was in the trident which was Pertys equivalent of the Mournival). You could even Argue that he was Pertys top guy. I've read quite a bit of the Heresy and the two books I've seen him a bit in were angel exterminatus and Magnus' Primarch book
They do attempt to promote alternative warmasters before the first black crusade. In the black legion books there is one notable rival, (can’t spell his name) but he has the title of lord of hosts. He’s a death guard who also unites a large number of former legionaries from multiple legions but without forcing them to join a new legion.
Oh the other argument is that the previous black crusades, were used to destroy other pylons throughout the galaxy, which is why breaking the Cadian gate had the impact it did.
I liked the video as soon as you referenced Galbatorix, love that series and hate what cinema did to it🤣 keep up the lore, I’ve been following for maybe over a year? Huge fan of your content and how you phrase things and just generally your channel!😂👌
I think that Abaddon is a competent warlord, though Chaos is so disunited, it would take him to lead the taking of much more for the other chaos Warlords till put him above themselves.
Honsou should develop some big new technology, perhaps combing alien tech and demon stuff and become huge threat. It makes no sense that chaos has worse tech when they aren't hold back by anti heresy regulations
Abbadon is a great character, it's just GW not wanting Chaoe to have an actual victory against the Imperium because, you know, it would lead to the destruction of the Imperium and no more Space Marines to sell by the ass load. And 2 Night Lords characters? Bias intensifies! We all know Perturabo would be the best if he got his shit together and stopped crying in his tower, his strength, intelligence, technological knowhow, etc. would allow his to actually put the Imperium on the backfoot(something Abbadon or any other Warmaster couldn't/wouldn't do). Also Huron wasn't a true CSM, just a traitor, so the true CSM from the original legions would laugh at him before doing their own thing. Do you really expect Huron to be able to control the big 4 of Arhiman, Kharn, Typhus, or Lucius? Fat chance, Huron would get merked if her tried to order any of them around, Kharn especially.

@@dragonstormx That could be the case of "Take That!" on the fans' mockery at Abaddon and belief that he can be easily taken down, while TTS would give his character justice as why Abaddon has been on the Black Legion business for so long and maintained it.

@@matabishippuden6965 I dont think we ever actually saw him die. He was captured by the Imperium, and the Nightlords all think he's dead; which is fairly legit for them think.

I think it's no stretch to say reading Erebus get utterly rekt by Kharn after the sissy-backstab was juicy.
